This printer sucks as a household wireless printer. I have completely lost faith in HP's agility to design, develop and deploy a decent printer. And this one was a replacement pf a previous HP Office Jet that also had issues printing Apple sourced jobs. After weeks of screwing around trying to get it to print for all the family members via their respective devices (MSFT/Apple/Android) to no avail, now the printer claims that the ink cartridges that were sent from the HP ink program won't function until the enrolled printer is enrolled. Classic! Of course there's no one to actually talk to anymore, it's all virtual assistance. A system I would say is fine, but there needs to be an ejection button to get to a human when the system is no coherent enough to handle a problem. Which seems to be the case here. I am now the proud owner of an expensive door stop with brand new ink that cannot be used by the brand new printer that cannot be used because it thinks its not enrolled in the program that it is enrolled in, that's how I receive the ink. After 25+ years of using HP printers, I'm done.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has caused you inconvenience on multiple fronts. I can easily understand why issues with connectivity, Instant Ink cartridges and then support would add up to a phenomenal amount of frustration. With that in mind, I’ll offer a resource and some information I hope will help.

I can’t tell from your review what’s causing these problems or whether they’re related, so I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware, basic support and ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

difficult to keep this as the default printer. Not the greatest to use with Wifi. The paper has to be in just perfectly. I like the two-sided printing.

    Slow to start printing

Takes forever to print and sometimes forever for ink cartridges to reset. At the beginning of printing I don't know if it's warming up or booting up but it seems to go through several cycles before it prints and then the same cycle of resetting or whatever it is doing after printing sounds like the ink cartridge mechanism is resetting several times before it stops. It is annoying!

The WORST printer ever and no support from HP

This was the worst printer I have ever owned. Every time I wanted to print it was "offline." When the ink was low it would not give an indication or warning, it just quit printing with that color. It would not scan to the laptop computer that I owned, even though they were both HP products. In short, not engineered for the average user and not worth the trouble... Get my sledgehammer because smashing it to pieces will be the most gratifying thing about owning this piece of junk.

This would have been my 8th HP printer. This one I actually returned. The ink cartridges are smaller than my other two models, the paper tray is also smaller and jammed up quite often. We have to change the paper out a lot and this one would get stuck. I want the HP8610 again!! HP support took over an hour to get scan software to work.
