HP — get your act together! Also very flimsy paper tray. Very dissatisfied with HP. This printer is going back.

But the Instant Ink connectivity means you will be required to use HP-branded ink. No generics. Even after Instant Ink trial is over. They will not work. It is not a design flaw, it is the design intent. This will be my last HP printer.

The sales associate did not explain this at purchase time. HP should include that information somewhere on their documentation. The 6 months of instant Ink lasted only three months. (I basically printed only using the black ink, For my daily crossword puzzles). By the time two sets of ink cartridges are purchased, one could buy this model over again. Whose bright idea was it to put a chip (or whatever) on the ink cartridge so that ONLY HP ink can be used. I've already spent more than the cost of the printer on ink! I purchased a non HP ink when it ran out after three months, ignorant of the fact that the machine wouldn't work without OEM HP product. I've been contemplating returning this item since I purchased it and now see that I had until Jan 16 to do so, I would buy another brand from BB if they allow the return.
