Does the job but a little noisy. The quality of materials could have been a little better.

This printer is a piece of junk, I think I'll be done with HP after this one. It looses wifi constantly, completely froze up and had to be unplugged to reboot already after 2 weeks of use (I didn't start using it right away and now I'm outside the return period). Took forever to get it to be recognized by the HP Smart App but yet I could print to it, makes no sense. And to top it all off they advertise that it prints two sided, and it does, but don't expect it to scan or copy a two sided document because it can't do that.

Not what I consider a topline printer. Printer and computer "recognize each other" when printing documents from computer, emails etc, but when trying to scan a document to the computer, the printer cannot find the computer without a special setup. Never had that problem before.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry that you’ve encountered difficulty with your printer’s scan function. It’s easy to understand why this would be off-putting after buying a new device, especially if you’d not had the same issue with your previous printer. I want to help you resolve the problem. I hope the resources below guide you to that end.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various problems, including scanner issues. There you’ll find a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If you use Windows, the tool will help identify and guide you through solutions to a wide range of common scanning as well as printing issues. Visit that page here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics

You might also gain useful information from a guide to scanning with HP printers you’ll find on our support site. It includes instructions for various desktop and mobile operating systems as well as an FAQ section. Find that here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_2275901-2074064-16

If the problem persists, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess what’s happening and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic in some areas, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

Of the many printers I have either owned, used at work or otherwise, this one is the biggest piece of junk ever. Jams and is next to impossible to dig the wadded up paper out. Decides to ignore a command - then the next day it prints whatever is in memory until you can eventually find the cancel button buried in the app garbage. Impossible to darken the print format even tough it's on the highest setting. Then, just for giggles it totally locks up until you pull the power cord for some sort of reset. It will eventually get "donated" somewhere like the local dump and be replaced by another Epson.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry that you’ve had such a dreadful experience with your printer. Your exasperation is no surprise, considering you’ve endured difficult paper jams, print jobs continuing unexpectedly after the fact, and the device locking up and needing to be reset. I want to help you resolve this situation, so I’ll provide some resources aimed at making that happen.

I can’t tell what’s causing the trouble you describe or whether these issues are related to one another. I recommend that you contact us directly so we can help you assess what’s happening and find the best course of action. HP+ printers such as yours come with exclusive concierge support. To call and reach live HP+ experts, visit the following URL and enter your HP+ serial number:
      - hp.com/plus-help

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies – and that warranty extends to two years with an HP+ account – so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link:

I am getting frustrated with the printing. The copier is constantly going off line and I don’t know why! Originally when I set it up is was working great. Then when i had to enroll it with instant ink, that’s when the challenges started. The online/virtual tech support was more frustrating than helpful!

Printer head broke after 14 months of light use. HP support site was not user friendly and not helpful. Spent 3 hrs. without results. Calling Tech support was not much better. Unqualified and not knowledgeable. Several different calls and being dropped from the line, and finally one Tech who was able to discover that the printer had a hardware problem and was not fixable. Then they tried to sell me a new more expensive printer. (Spent another 3 hrs. on phone with tech support!) I decided to go to BEST BUY and buy one there along with their 4 yr. warranty. Same printer, newer model, and with peace of mind. Much better deal all the way around.

I have serious buyer remorse! I trusted the HP brand and had their products for years! I hate the new ways they try to lock one into letting them reach into your wallet depending on pages printed per month. I won’t subscribe to HP +. Read all about it before buying the inkjet pro 8020e!

HP has gone down hill for sure. I got this printer for my mom. She needed a new one and felt this was simple & easy to use. It is CHEAPLY made, to open the drawer to replace paper is cheap plastic. It also takes FOREVER to print anything! Very disappointed I can no longer return this printer. Total waste of money.
