I’m sorry to hear that your printer is not working. My best guess is that by “ink refill service” you mean our Instant Ink program, but I can’t tell whether you received cartridges and they did not work, you received no cartridges, or something else.

Here are a few facts about ink use that might help you get more prints without too much extra effort:
- A high-density print (such as an image or graph) uses ink more quickly than a text-only document, particularly if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry. If you print a lot of photos, our Instant Ink program should be a good option for you, because you pay by the page, not for cartridges. Details at: instantink.com
- Using the draft and black only settings on your printer can help save on ink, particularly the colors.
- Shutting the printer down between uses can result in some savings. However, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer to 'park' so that the nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper are protected from excess drying.

In fact, you don't even need a computer to print to this printer. Print directly from your phone or tablet or for that matter Android TV! I did just to see if I could. The photo quality is very good for a desk jet and I can see this printer being very useful for printing out shipping labels and color photos from your phone. It works equally well with my iPad and supports the upcoming Apple iBeacon. Alexa and Google voice are both supported as well. The intuitive interface makes it a breeze to set up as well. Build quality is on par for a desk jet printer, flimsy but not a deal breaker.

Note: this does not print double-sided or scan double-sided. ALSO: HP's "Instant Ink" for 6 months "free" requires you to sign up to allow your printer to tell HP how many prints you've made per month -- if you exceed a certain # per MONTH (25??), you pay them a fee. This is a terrible deal.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This OfficeJet Pro 8025e inkjet printer is available for the HP+ program where you get free ink for 6 months and after that subscribe to a scheduled replacement of the ink to be billed to your credit card. A plus for a busy home office, but maybe not for someone who prints sporadically. The packaging was a plus--in a sturdy heavy cardboard box and a strong plastic wrapper with pull handles around the printer itself so that you can remove the printer from the packing without having to "pour" it out the side. It was easy to physically set up--only one of those pieces of pink tape to pull off. The cartridges were a bit of a nuisance--the little sealing tape you pull off also pulled off half the label on 2 of the cartridges. They did pop in easily. The setup poster is the usual "chimp pictures" deal where there is no text for the instructions. Just graphics and pointers. And a QR code to scan for the app to install on the phone. Which will let you install the printer--on your phone. There was a *huh* gap where one is not sure about what to do with the PC end of things. I went to the URL shown and then clicked to find the setup for Windows. It took a little longer (2 tries to get the wifi part to continue) and would have been a bit confusing to the technically challenged. It does print pretty easily from your phone once the app is installed. The default quality was nothing to write home about. It scans well from phone or PC, again with default ho-hum settings. This printer is a very basic multi-function and someone needing a lot of ink may want to invest in it. Just don't expect a real fast great quality print.

Scans to PC like a champ although the scanner does at times have a finicky side with occasional jams and not pulling from the scan docket. Aside from this i would give it a 5 star rating.
