Inadequate Cooling, OK General Purpose, Not Gaming

Take a careful look at the pictures, look at how shoddy and small the fans are versus other gaming builds at the same price. The CPU cooling fan is a tiny 70mm, combined with a terrible heatsink. If you use this to merely surf the web, that may be adequate, for anything more you will routinely hit high temps. Also the motherboard is proprietary HP, and as such is limited; you can't make any fan-speed adjustments, The case is too small for larger fans. And to change the CPU heatsink to something larger requires removing the motherboard, a complete disassembly of the system. Find something better. It's an OK computer for web surfing and general purpose, but it should not be advertised for gaming.

It’s a great PC, but recently have been having issues with audio. Might be totally unrelated to the PC itself, in fact it’s probably user error. Great pc, I suggest getting a hydro thingy to keep it cool inside, it heats up after long use.

Specs seemed great and was fast when working, but it kept shutting down. Seemed to be over heating doing minor tasks. Best Buy took it right back.

Very bad experience buying this product. Bought the first one out of box my son spent 4 hours trying to get it working but never did.so returned it to the store. Drove all the way to Mobile from diamondhead to purchase another it worked at the store but didn’t work at home. It was sold as an out of the box but obviously it was owned by someone and returned and sold under false pretense. Returned to the Gulfport store and purchased a brand new one which so far is working. Was not compensated in any way for our time and aggravation in fact the employees were quite rude and not helpful would never recommend Best Buy to anyone based on how we were treated

    Started crashing soon after purchase

Cool computer but started crashing when gaming. Without loading all of the games, it works fine. BUT, it's specifically for gaming!! Waited 2 weeks for geek squad, couldn't fix it said it was RAM. WE paid for new Ram and installed ourselves, didn't work. Had our own IT guy check it out..reloaded 2x's and used separate drive just for games, still crashing. It's hardware not software. Now have to wait another two weeks to take to store for diagnosing hoping the 1yr manufacturer warranty will replace it or the 3 year warranty we purchased will replace it.. We'll see.. I'll let you know. HUGE Pain in the A**!!!

As is it has some power, and fairly fast with the small SSD drive. But you can't add any expansion cards to it. So other then adding a drive, you are stuck with the way it came.

Budget machine at best. Graphics sub par, runs very warm under load and my guess is the cramped case will only get worse over time. Minimal upgrade potential, proprietary HP mobo and if you have any problems your required to send it in for repairs. Keyboard and mouse are worthless but I did not intend on using so was no big deal for me but if your going to build a “gaming” rig at least put in a decent “gaming” mouse and keyboard. Save yourself money and buy a custom machine. Can defiantly do better at this price point. I returned this and went custom.

This is a good-looking desktop. It is all black with the HP Omen logo angled on the front. The left side has a clear cover, allowing an unobstructed view of the internals. Cable management within the case is tidy, but the PSU is not modular, so there are quite a few extra wires in the bottom. The components are upgradeable, and the case claims to be a tool-less design with components and dimensions that adhere to the micro-ATX form factor standard. The case has an LED strip on the inside and the HP Omen logo on the front is LED backlit. Both are controlled by the HP Omen app and can be changed from several preset colors or can be set to cycle through the colors independently of each other. Note, that these are not individually addressable LED’s, so each individual LED in the light strip can’t be programmed, it is all or none. Furthermore, you don’t have a full selection of available colors to choose from, there are only about 8 different colors. The included mouse and keyboard serve the purpose but are nothing special. The keyboard is quite compact for a desktop model but is comfortable to type on without feeling cramped. I would have loved to have a backlight option, but sadly it isn’t available on this keyboard. The mouse was even more basic. One that I would not want to spend a lot of time with. I replaced it after about 15 minutes of use. It is cheap and hard to click. GENERAL PEFORMANCE Bottom line: This desktop performs extremely well, and it is very quick. The 8 core processor, combined with an SSD, make for a speedy machine. The computer will boot from completely off in about 6 seconds, while most applications open in around 2 seconds. Application access, file saving, file transfers, web browsing are super quick; some of the quickest I have experienced. No applications, even photo and image editing ever seem to fully tax or utilize the system to its full potential. GAMING PERFORMANCE I have spent many hours and played a lot of games on this computer utilizing Microsoft’s new Game Pass Ultimate. To test the CPU and GPU, all games were played at full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) and all video settings set to their highest values. Resource monitors showed system utilization consistently at 100% for the CPU and 60% for the GPU. I had no issues with any game I installed and played. Frame rates remained consistent and game play never got choppy. I never experienced any screen tearing from the GPU failing to keep up or from the CPU bottlenecking the throughput. The nVidia 1660Ti was able to take advantage of my monitor’s G-Sync compatibility and gaming remained smooth and consistent.

this pc was delivered on february 3, 2020. today, saturday, may 9, 2020 i started having issues with it restarting itself after the blue screen popped up and said there were problems with my computer, it was collecting error data and restarting. there's also the following info for a support person: kmode exception not handled. i'm super frustrated, super unhappy, and feel like i've wasted quite a bit of money. barely 3 months into owning this thing and already it's giving me issues. so much for a gaming pc. next time, i'll just go with a standard desktop pc.
