Q: How many cores are there in this pc
A: It has 8 cores. The CPU that this computer has is an i7-9700 which is an octa-core processor. A very new cpu since it is part of the 9th gen, so it will have support from Intel for a very good while. It has Intel Turbo Boost Technology, so it will naturally boost your processor speed close to 4.7GHz, so do not let the base frequency, which is 3GHz, let you down a bit. You will get around 4.2-4.5GHz on average
Q: Is there a gtx 1660ti installed or not? What size pwr supply?
A: It says in the name that it is a GTX 1660ti. I can confirm that the video card is exactly as described. It is the 6gb version of the card. The Power Supply is 500Watts.
A: the PDF itself is wrong. not sure why, i am thinking it was a general info for the computer and bare minimal. this pc has many models for it. this particular one does have a gtx 1660 ti, and a i7-9700
A: very easy to swap or add hard drives - the solid panel pops right off and there are two drive bays ready to go. i did what you are asking about by pulling the 1TB drive that came with the system out, and replacing with a 2TB drive that already had my game files on it (steam stuff - you know what i mean) and adding a 1TB SSD in the second bay. Transferred the system settings from the "old" computer to this new one using TransWiz to migrate the windows 10 user profiles from the old machine and this freed up the 1TB SSD from the "old" machine to be used for game files on the Obelisk.
A: Yes, it can rip though photo editing, no problem. You can easily add more RAM, but you may end up having to replace the existing memory stick when you do (read my review for details). It can handle a max of 32gb.
Q: Is the 1660 ti better then the 1060? And if so why is this one cheeper then the 1060?
A: Yes, 1660 TI is 6GB GDDR6 vram, which is much much better than the 1060 3GB version computer you mentioned. 1660 TI came out this year for a budget version of those RTX 20 series cards (example RTX 2060, RTX 2070, etc). It just lacks SLI and Ray Tracing to make the video card cheaper.
A: yes, it uses a different connector. you can purchase an adapter connector or, if your monitor has an HDMI port for connecting, you can use that
A: It meets or exceeds the minimum specs, and the 1660 Ti is on par with the recommended 1070, so it should work fine.
