It's an omen alright
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only took two hours of testing the health of the computer for it to get weird errors like the occasional blue screen. For a desktop that looks so cool it doesn't seem like the same effort was put into the hardware. I am sure I am an outlier but it was an experience that definitely makes me confident in my decision to just stick with building desktops myself.

DO NOT BUY HP GAMING Desktop
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do Not buy this game desktop. It did not last more than 15 months. Don't know what happen MOBO Fried, GPU Fried. Scenario: Closed all programs put it to sleep. Next day come into room with fans going crazy. Manually shut off, turn on with 3 long beeps followed by 3 short beeps. Tried everything to test what happen. GPU busted. Was able to save Ram, SSD, and D drive but rest was gone. I just don't believe HP is a good builder for Gaming systems, and if they do build they should use better parts; like, the MOBO didn't even have plug in to use a for the Intel built-in GPU to at least see something since the plug-ins were all in the GPU card that no longer works. Oh well back to Ibuypower that's still running like new after 3 years. Really HP 15 months.

Terrible buy..
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had it for 6 months was doing great then it started going bad, they say it's upgradable what they really mean is all parts in it is off brand crap and really need upgrading very soon. My SSD went out got a Samsung SSD was working fine then the motherboard went out so I decide to just send it in to HP to have them fix everything and had me on the phone for an hour then the line disconnected their customer service is a joke. Now I have a broken computer so I bought a computer from Digital Storm since they know how to build a real gaming computer.

Not as advertised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this online as an open box item. When I went to pick up it turned out to be a floor display with no power cord, keyboard, mouse, box or documentation. I got them to add the cord, but when I got home I found it doesn't have the built-in card reader as advertised and to buy the matching keyboard and mouse would cost almost as much as it was discounted. I've purchased open box before and been happy, but this time felt screwed. Returned because they weren't willing to make it right. Comments have been made for months and they still haven't fixed the card reader in the description.

Great pre built gaming computer for the price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would first like to start off by saying if you're looking for a decent gaming desktop with upgrade options, but don't have the time to spend on building one yourself. Then I would consider this computer for your needs. I believe the processor can be upgraded to a Intel core I9 and the RAM is upgradable to 32GB of DDR4 RAM. (Comes with one 16GB RAM chip) has a extra empty RAM chip slot. It also includes a 256GB SSD I believe and a 1TB 7200RPM Hard drive. With what appears to be room for another hard drive even after inspecting mine. It runs nice and smooth and also runs very quiet. (For me at least) I can't even tell when it's running it's so quiet. Boots up and shuts down pretty quickly and doesn't come with a bunch of pre installed stuff you don't need. The RGB lighting in the case is nice too. You can set the color or set it to fade, blink, strobe or whatever you want. The keyboard and mouse it comes with seem cheap, but will work. I'm going to be considering replacing mine with a RGB HP OMEN keyboard and mouse. Overall it's a nice ore built gaming pc for the price. Pros: It's quiet like a mouse, It's fairly light to pick up and move, it looks nice, It's got decent power in it, it's got upgrade options (Like the RAM, Processor, Graphics card, HDD, SSD, and more) Cons: can't think of any. Ports: multiple USB 3.0 ports, a C port, audio port, DVI port, HDMI port, Displayport, ect... I would recommend this to anyone looking for a mid range or so or built gaming pc.

Worst computer I have ever owned
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the worst computer I have ever owned. Makes me wonder if best buy even evaluates their products to see if they function or offer what a customer is looking for. It definitely will make me think twice regarding recommendations and/or purchases in the future. I also will recommend extensive shopping to any friends or family to avoid the poor service and product support offered here.

Great system, poor but solvable cooling
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are many versions of the HP – OMEN Obelisk available, each with varying sets of components. This review is specific to the version with the following components: Intel Core i7-9700 Processor 16GB DDR4 Memory 256GB M.2 NVMe SSD + 1TB 7200 rpm 3.5” HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Graphics Card To start, I really like the case. It comes with a clear side panel, RGB lighting that can be controlled via the included OMEN software, and it is quite small due to the use of a micro ATX motherboard. Despite its small size, this system packs a powerful punch. Both the front logo lighting and case interior lighting can be controlled. The software allows you to control each independently which includes a wide range of colors or you can even turn off both sets of lights completely. I’m glad this is an option as the interior lights are pretty bright and I certainly would not want them on in a bedroom at night. When it comes to performance, this system really excels. The M.2 NVMe SSD boot drive really makes a huge difference in boot and program loading times and the system is great as is if you don’t plan on doing much gaming. If you do plan on gaming (which this system is more than capable of handling aside from the point I am about to make), you should really consider doing what I did by adding at least one additional fan to the case. The case only comes with one exhaust fan which is likely enough if you only plan on using the system for normal day-to-day use but certainly is not enough if you plan on pushing the system to its full potential. In my case, I added a 120mm exhaust fan to the top of the case and I am contemplating adding an intake fan to the bottom of the case as well. The only problem with adding a fan to the bottom of the case is the fact that the legs of the case do not allow much clearance from the bottom of the case to the ground. This can be resolved in several ways such as using some sort of risers under each of the legs or by using a desktop computer stand which is what I ended up doing. Even if you don’t plan on adding a fan to the bottom of the case, I suggest raising the case up a bit so at least some fresh air can be pulled in due to the pressure that is created by even just the one stock exhaust fan. Installing the extra fan to the top of the case wasn’t all that difficult once I figured out how to do it. There is a metal plate attached to the top of the case by two screws which has four holes for attaching a standard 120mm fan. There are four mini plates that can be removed from the main metal plate to allow air to flow through. The mini plates are easily removed by simply pressing firmly on each one. Once your new fan is installed to the metal plate, you just have to screw it back in to the top of the case using the original two screws. One other thing to note is that there is only one fan header available on the motherboard, a 4-pin header listed as “LC_PUMP”. This particular header is designed to be used by a liquid cooler radiator fan which means any fan installed to it will always run at full capacity. I didn’t necessarily want the fan I added to always be running at full capacity since that would be pretty noisy and unnecessary so I also purchased a PWM fan splitter which I then attached to the fan header which the pre-installed exhaust fan was using and then connected each of the fans to this splitter. This allows the fans to be controlled based on the system’s cooling needs. Overall, this is a great system and I highly recommend it!

System breaks down too easily
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The system starts having trouble in less than a year. For the price I've paid, this device is trash. I took out previous $350 desktop which still operates and functions. DO NOT buy this omen, unless money for you grows on tree.
