Dishonest
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The computer works fine, but I was promised 6 months of free McAfee internet security with my product. After 10 days the security service was disconnected. Despite plenty of correspondence, no one has helped give me what I was promised. Wouldn't recommend BestBuy.

died after a year Windows 10 update
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very disappointed with this computer. It died after a Windows 10 update and a half. Husband tried to reload initial program and it just crapped out. Now (2020) I was able to to wipe the entire thing and put Windows 10 on it....just Windows 10 from Microsoft site (since other versions of Windows will not longer be supported). Seems to be working ok now. Gifting it to my elderly Aunt and hoping it outlasts her.

Great for amateur producers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought this on a one day sale for $180.... Best purchase I ever made. Buy this if its on sale like that again. Idk about normal price cause you can find a better laptop at $400.. It runs nexus2 & all those other plugins you use on fl studio smoothly... & leaves enough space for mixing.. In stead of a monitor buy a dvi to hdmi adaptor made by GE ( it's at Walmart for $18 ) that will turn your hdtv into a monitor & I have a 28' vizio & it fits perfectly especially for fl studio picture is better than clear..saved me over $100. Then get some speakers.. I Got some krk platinums from guitar centering back 2 school sale now for $99 a piece & they usually retail $250 each.( you need two no exceptions). You will need to buy a cord too tho which costs $11 (live wire cmp159 10 ft ).. I don't have a audio interface but the audio still sound very good from this computers sound card.. My friend sold me his nexus 2 & fl studio (full everything $700 version) for just $200 for both... Quick room studio for $600 when I was thinking I'd have to spend $1000s... GREAT PC FOR YOUR HOME STUDIO BUT IF ITS NOT ON SALE KEEP LOOKING BECAUSE for $400 there are better computers but don't be discouraged this thing is a monster but the processor is soldered to the motherboard so no upgrades I don't think.... Its powerful enough tho honestly & it has a great sound card & video card..... SO BASICALLY IF ITS ON SALE FOR $180 again don't hesitate because I was lucky & purchased the last one that sale lol they will sell like crazy so be speedy & buy for $180-$220

HP Pavilion 400-434 Is Junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I realize this is the low end of the HP scale. However, I found my 400-434 at 100% cpu and near 100% memory just browsing the internet. Any pages that have multiple frames load very slowly and video often plays haltingly. I would NOT recommend this system to anyone. Another thing to beware of is that these systems are unsupported. Unless you pay extra for Geek squad maintenance, you are on your own once you leave the store. Whereas, with Dell systems come with a minimum of 11 yr software and hardware support, hassle free. BELIEVE me you will need support on the HP and you will have none from Best Buy or HP.

Do Not Purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After having the computer set up I took tyhe system in to have the data transferred. They couldn't because none of the USB's worked. I have to replace the whole unit for a new one at an additional cost.

Very Unhappy with this product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very disappointed in this product. Have always purchased HP computers. Two major repairs in less than 4 months including having the mother board replaced. Will not purchase another HP computer. I was told the computer would be replaced if another hardware problem was detected if it happened before my year warranty was up. To me 2 major problems in less than 4 months qualifies this product as a lemon.

Must have been defective
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Straight out of the box, the machine just did not work even close to satisfactory. As I see many positive reviews I can only imagine I must have gotten a lemon. I did jump to a dell, same specs expect not a pentium, I have seen two HP pentiums so far that were just DOGS! DOGS I SAY. and, that is being not fair to the dogs!!
