    Poor screen quality.

This HP has very poor screen quality that might not be evident at first. I could kind of see it in the store but in this price range there was nothing else with more than 4GB ram, I needed 8, so I decided I needed to just accept lesser quality. But when I got home I saw that the low quality color contrast gets much worse if you change the view angle in the slightest amount. And I could notice a slight but annoying screen flicker that was very disappointing. I had looked at another HP 14" non-touch pad, non-touch being ok with me, and the screen quality was also poor. So I decided that the $400 price range no longer works for me and returned this laptop to exchange it for a $900 13" Dell Inspiron. I would have trusted a $900 HP but after two tries I could not give them a another chance at this time though I'm sure it would be fine. The little Dell is very nice! My previous two small laptops (bought at Best Buy), one $350 in 2015, one $280 in 2010, each worked well with good screen quality and lasted five years each. The $280 just could not handle anything beyond Windows XP after XP was no longer supported. I was very happy with both these little hot rods. We buy almost all of our electronics at Best Buy and usually are happy with our purchases and they have a great return policy if we don't like what we bought. This is the only time we have returned an opened and used product. We once returned an unopened iPad to exchange for a non-wifi unit.

The computer fan on this laptop is beyond noisy. If I don't have a TV or music going, I can't stand to be on it. If I'm in a virtual meeting, people say it sounds like construction is happening in my house, but it is the crappy fan. It is also extremely slow. HP has really went down on quality since my laptop before this one.

If I could give it zero stars I would. Hard drive failed after just 2 years. Lost everything.
