Customers are saying
Customers are enthusiastic about the Smart Tank Plus 551 Wireless All-In-One Inkjet Printer's print quality, ease of use, and straightforward setup. Many appreciate its compact size and reliable wireless connectivity, enabling convenient printing from anywhere in the home. However, some customers find the price to be relatively high and express concerns about the printer's small paper tray and occasional paper jams. Overall, the positive feedback on printing and ease of use outweighs the negative comments regarding cost and paper handling.

Ink cartridges are a thing of the past
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's time to get with the times. Ink cartridges are becoming a thing of the past. I'm tired of having to go out to the store and buy those annoying ink cartridges, only to later have to take the old used ones back to the store and have them recycled. The HP Smart Tank 551 all in one printer solves that pesky ink cartridge issue. With their "Smart Tank," there is no need to insert cartridges. You just refill the tanks, and you are on your way to easier printing. The bottles included are supposed to be enough to last for two years, at least that's the claim. This should hopefully last me through the school year. The initial printer setup is a breeze. Download the app, follow the instructions, connect to wifi, and you are on your way to better prints in no time. Another thing that I like about the HP Smart Tank 551 printer is that it is so much easier to print, scan, etc. There is no display to go to, and instead, you can control your printer from the palm of your hands. With HP's print app, you are able to print, scan, and do just about anything else with the printer. A very helpful feature from HP is their fax feature. Again, you use the app to send online faxes. I love the convenience of being able to print from anywhere! On to the print quality. I use the HP Smart Tank 551 more for school/office work, but so far, the color copies look great. The printer itself looks nice, but this is my first printer without an actual control panel on the printer. Looks like these companies are doing away with these displays, and are relying more on apps. There are buttons for copying and other printer functions. This might be a problem for some folks, so just a head up. Overall, the HP Smart Tank 551 all in one printer is great. My older HP printer is still going strong, so I am confident that the HP Smart Tank 551 printer will last just as long.

Decent printer but needs 2-sided printing
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this printer because of the ink tank concept by the Epson printers, but I wanted to stay in the HP loyalty. Ink cartridges are getting so darned expensive, so I thought that the Smart Tank idea would be much better. It is, but I miss the 2-sided printing that my old HP printer had.

Not what I needed
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Printer dose mot automatically print double sided and it does not scan multiple pages at a time. That is very important for me because I’m going to school and now doing online school do to this pandemic and it makes it hard to be productive.

Very reliable until....
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did not realize this did not have a paper feeder and no fax capabilities! The tech did not tell me that due to my original printer/copier was not available when I was ready to pick up. Returned!

Epson Smart Tank Not Smart, Overpriced, Clunky
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this $400 printer only because Best Buy was sold out of all others. It works no better than my Epson 3700, which cost %60. Printing is slow and balky. No two-sided automatic printing. Wireless printing does not work via my ATT hot spot, which my Epson did. I bought a Best Buy service contract and hope this Turkey breaks down so I can return it for a store credit and get back to my Epson Cheapies. (Large ink tanks are a convenience, but not worth the money.)

Not good for small business
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is definitely not what I expected. The paper tray doesn’t hold much paper, the black ink doesn’t register well & scanning manually is a headache.

Easy To Setup;Good Quality;Like The Ink Tank But..
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer was so easy to setup. Download the app and connect across your network to multiple devices quickly and easily. Filling the ink tanks was no mess, no spill. Very well designed bottles & tanks facilitate easy filling. The printer responds quickly to print commands and the ppm speed is on par for ink jet printers. The print quality is very good. I love the idea of getting 6000 black pages or 8000 color without having to replace ink cartridges. I haven't had it long enough to see how many pages I'll actually get, and here's the but - the replacement ink bottles aren't available yet and aren't even listed on hp's web site so refill cost is unknown. I can only hope overall it's not substantially more expensive than ink cartridges per 1000 pages. If I knew I might give it more or less stars and I don't recommend it till that information becomes available. Comes with 1 year support & warranty.
