Just another garbage laptop from HP
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Right out the box the supplied pen did not function. Called hp and they sent a replacement that also did not properly function at all with laptop and after trying to use the pen the touch screen would not work until restarting the device. Just another junk laptop from HP. Do yourself a favor and go with any other brand for a laptop. We have purchased multiple HP laptops and all have had some type of hardware issue. This was the final straw and i am officially done with HP laptops. Bought a samsung galaxy book pro 2 360 that is far superior in every aspect then this was and cost the exact same.

BUYER BEWARE!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this, and the 13" Spectre 2-in-1 for my wife and I for work. Within 24 hours, the screens started flickering and the backlighting would go out. Now, just a handful of days later, it's way worse. Slight movements (like adjusting it on your lap or setting it down on a hard surface) can cause the screen and keyboard backlighting to turn off, with the machines being completely unresponsive. They randomly (I timed this, and it was different each time) come back on roughly 30 seconds to 1 minute later, back at the login screen. Upon doing further research on this specific problem, it turns out there are a lot of reports from consumers that have this same exact problem. It appears to be a defect, not everyone has it but the ones that do have it bad. Purchase at your own risk, I will be returning both of these immediately.

Do not buy
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do Not Buy there is some kind of software problem with this computer. Only had it 11 months barely used it. Shuts itself down right after you turn it on. I contacted hp they sent me a reboot disc after deleting everything and starting over it still shuts down and restarts. Im hoping it’s a hp problem and not Best Buy starting to do what Amazon does and sell bad products.

Pretty but not the best choice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this laptop for a little over 2 years. It’s been great, the keys are amazing and easy to type. The touch screen and pen have been flawless. I really hate the power button though. It’s on the top left corner and you have to hide in a dark room to tell if you’ve pressed it or not, it’s just awkward. Also I thought I was buying a high end laptop but as my needs grew, I realized I only have 128 mb of video ram, which is pretty low. It’s really not a work horse. It’s pretty, but not super powerful. It also runs pretty hot (probably from my attempt to use it beyond its capabilities). Also the screen is SO reflective, you can’t really use it outdoors, in the shade, nothing. You really can only use it indoors. I don’t really think it’s worth the price.

HP Spectre, what a letdown
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a huge HP fan eversince I bought my first Spectre in 2018. The style was beatiful with its space gray shell with the gold highlights. Beautiful! But that was five years ago. The chassis of my old laptop still looks new but the old processor and graphics card was starting to show its age. Specially when i start to use Lightroom or Photoshop. So 2023 I decided to get a new laptop. So I found an open-box 2022 HP Spectre in Nocturne Blue at my local Bestbuy. It was a good deal. The specs pretty much checked out: 16" 3K+ Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Evo Platform - Core i7 - 16GB Memory - 512GB SSD - Pen Included. So I bought it and powered that sucker up. After doing the usual logging in, it was time to get down and dirty. Downlaoded all the apps that I use for my photography business (Photoshop and Lightroom). And then was I DISAPPOINTED. First I noticed there was an unusual lag when opening the programs. Ok, I thought maybe the apps are still optimizing. Then I looked around online and found out that this new graphics card that HP adapted (Intel Iris XE) is not really suited for LR or Ps. So googled for some more info. So i downloaded the latest drivers and installed. Still the aame thing. There was a lag when opening the apps. Then importing the photos took about the same time as my old HP with a gforce MX150. And then ediitng the photos was slow. Opening PS also had lag. Opening a photo was slow. Man, was i disappointed. So the next day I exchanged it for an asus with i9 and geforce rtx 3050 (will write a review soon). I mean, although I wasnt a big fan of the color blue, it was still a beautiful laptop with a gorgeous screen and awesome sounding speakers. I wanted to keep it but decided its not worth it. Please HP go back to NVIDIA!

Specter Evo
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love my laptop. The touchscreen is fantastic, and I love that I can lay the screen all the way back. I write books, and so I absolutely love the space that it can hold. Great purchase.
