This is a really solid machine. I chose it because it had big specs in a small package. I initially purchased the 15 in version, but returned it in favor of this smaller lighter model.

Looks great, but the charger hums like it’s going to explode after 4 months of light use, laptop doesn’t charge correctly, random automatic updates deleted important files. Besides that, a great laptop!

    Great, with one big flaw

The Spectre 4K has everything (spec-wise) you'd want in a 2-in-1, but unfortunately has one crucial design flaw. The fan output on the side gets very hot, and is placed in a position where I'd naturally want to hold the device while in tablet mode. This made it very uncomfortable to hold and work in tablet mode. Everything else, screen, build quality, keyboard, etc...was great. However, I returned it after a week of use because it was unusable in tablet mode (for me).

Display resolution is great, I love the way the keyboard feels, trackpad sensitivity - all good. But the battery lasts less than 3 hours in tablet mode, and the device is too hot to actually place in my lap. Battery life is only slightly longer when not in tablet mode.

The Spectre is great for work and play

Purchased for home business, making presentations, and entertainment while traveling. I can give presentations switching from MS Word to MS Outlook to MS PowerPoint to an internet-based interactive program without hitch or hiccup while connected to an external projector! Watched downloaded HD movie (iTunes) and had more than 50% battery life left when complete. Very good for a laptop tablet hybrid. Note: the Spectre is finicky when connecting non-HP docks via USB-C. You will find this is not an isolated issue. I use a HP Travel Dock without issue. The staff at my Best Buy store is very courteous and helpful!

    A truly amazing ultrabook

I went into best buy looking at either a Mac or a Lenovo Yoga. However, as soon as I saw the sleek and stylish design of the HP Spectre, I couldn't walk away from it. It is seamless in processing capabilities. I am a pre-med student so I need something that will keep up with me for the next 8 years or so, so the RAM on this machine will definitely come in handy down the line. If you are looking for something that you won't have to replace a few years down the line, this ultrabook is excellent. The touchscreen and the pen that come with it work great. I've never had something quite this beautifully built.

Compact size, weight, CPU & screen are impressive

This is an impressive performer. Up to you to decide if the features are worth the premium. It's size and it's powerful CPU means you can take a lot performance with you and use it as a laptop or a tablet. The screen is beautiful, but it is also the weakest point for me. The internal graphics card is in no way powerful enough to drive the display for serious gaming. If you want excellent resolution for work, this is your tool, but if gaming is what you want, get a lower resolution display and a faster graphics card.

This is the best computer I have owned. The start-up speed and the speed when doing work on the internet is very good. The size, weight and portability exactly fits my needs. I use this computer for messaging, preparing documents, website maintenance, video editing, power point presentations, spreadsheet work and e-mail. this computer is easy to travel with and has a good battery life. I was considering trying the Apple but glad I went with the Spectre. I haven't had the opportunity to explore everything this laptop can do but looking forward to all the features.

High powered, expensive, paying for screen

I got this computer for the power. I paid a few hundred dollars more because of its high def screen (which is something I didn't need). The reason I paid more is because the closest competitor in its class ran very hot at the store. When I brought this computer home, it began to run hot too, and occasionally makes a grinding noise in the fan or drive (not sure which). Plus, it only has a camera on one side.

I have been waiting for the ideal 13 inch for the past 18 months and I think I have found it. The laptop is simply stunning to look at, both closed and open, what can I saw about the screen, color representation is superb, great indoor and outdoors, it also supports Windows Hello. Keyboard is excellent great travel, processor (i7 7th Gen) is fast and fluid and the SSD is also very fast. The pen is accurate and comes with the laptop. The laptop comes with a case that includes a pen holder. I haven’t had a single problem with it so far, great buy!
