This product has made the no buzz list for me. Paid top dollar and the mouse would move through out my computer when my neighbor played his drums. It happened twice. I just received an additional 3 month warren-tee because the cord no longer worked on this product. Messed up

The overall system performance is not that great. The system fan runs continuously during the usage of normal web applications like chrome. I don't recommend this product. I contacted HP regarding the same but they don't even care to respond on the issue

    Beautiful Laptop with high perfomance

This is an amazing laptop. Excellent Design and Good Performance. This is my personal purpose laptop, however I use this for coding -learning purpose . I am not a gamer :) Initially the laptop was getting heated up fast and fan was going on in full throttle which worried me. I contacted HP support and the very next day they send me a shipping package to send the laptop. I got the laptop repaired in less than 5 days and it works good after that. No issues yet. The repair was with motherboard and heatsink fan. Despite the service incident, I am giving 5 stars because, in total, this product deserves that. Performance is amazing so far. Handling is very good. Style is unmatched. I am pretty happy with this laptop and would recommend to any of my friends.

Probably Best Laptop Currently On The Market

My daughter and I have been searching for a computer she can use in her university classes, also in the classes she teaches and with her students when she tutors. We literally purchased and returned at least 6 laptops between Best Buy and Costco until we found this. In my opinion, it's a work of art being light, magnificently built and lightening fast with the right components. She has 30 days to try and return but today she said, "dad...I love this computer!" If HP and Best Buy read these comments, it does run very warm. However, my daughter turned on the power saver mode and that cut the heat down tremendously with no perceivable loss of performance. All I can say is Bravo to HP for making a world class product.

I bought two of these computers for my daughters for Christmas. They have been super happy with them. They are very fast, great graphics, look cool and something different from the usual silver. We are very happy with the computers. We have one issue that I want to give folks a heads up on. When we first got the computer we tried to install Chrome. It repeatedly failed with a generic, unhelpful error. I was pretty frustrated because installing Chrome usually works so easily. After some google searches I discovered it was due to that free Anti Virus software that came pre-installed (a 3 month trial). I think it was Norton AntiVirus. I didn't have intentions of buying that software after the 3 month trial, so I ended up removing it from my computer. (I did a full removal of it, not the partial it defaults to). I also did all of the Windows Updates - there were quite a few since the computer was built. I installed the free Microsoft Windows Defender software which I have found to be adequate. Now, everything works great. We haven't heard the fan come on at all - so no issues with that at all. The 2 in one design is really great. Just as a test, I went to the Apple website and tried to price out a computer that would be comparable to this one. Wow! It was about twice as much money. I think this was a good choice.

Switched from 2012 MacBook Pro...and Back

I purchased this laptop after a LOT of research and a LOT of deliberation. I have been using a 2012 15" MacBook Pro with i7 . It is as heavy as a brick and has gotten a bit slower over the past year. I have been a Mac user for 10 years. Switching to Windows was pretty seamless, but there were a few things about this laptop that ultimately are leading me to return it: - No way to access iMessage..this may not be a big deal for some, but it is the primary communication method between my business partner and myself - The trackpad is huge, which leads to strange things happening sometimes on accident while I'm typing - I found that the screen was more yellow than my MacBook screen and the color calibration did not allow me to correct it - this would be a problem in editing photos - Battery life is terrible - only lasts a few hours (less than the four year old battery in my other laptop) What I liked: - I love the design, look and feel of this laptop! It's sleek and will 100% make you feel fancy...this is a thing of beauty, folks - The touchscreen - I originally thought I wouldn't use the touchscreen, but it's a nice feature that makes some things faster - The feel of the keyboard - The ports - everything you need to plug in will plug in to one of the sides All in all, the dislikes outweighed the likes. However, I will definitely consider purchasing an HP again in the future, once my MacBook officially "bites the dust."

I got the 512gb i7 in ash silver as an open box, and wow its beautiful. The aluminum body and the craftmanship in the copper edging is impressive. You may read about the overheating in the upper left portion of the laptop which is true, but I am not bothered with it. I am a graduate student and I use almost all the configurations that this laptop is capable of, I do also recommend using the dell active pen (compatible) with this. Touch screen has perfect balance for sensitivity, can differentiate from pen and finger touch very quickly. Screen graphics are also very clean, many people wow when they see the stock scenery photos for the lock screen. Definitely recommend for someone that needs a powerful but compact laptop for the go!

This laptop was purchased in 2016 and I should say it has given its best for the past seven years. I have come across no issues and the sleek-lightweight design is a huge plus. First my wife used it for four years then she gave it to my daughter. She has been using it for the past three years and still is. If you want a laptop that will last a long time then this is the one for you!

I did an overview of the reviews before purchasing. I was concern with the overheating but have not experienced it. The ghost finger, yes I seen it. It does not stay long but it is annoying. I did purchase an extra warranty since this is an expensive laptop. At this point I am still pleased with it. Hopefully HP will fix the ghost finger problem, because the Yoga 900 does not seem to have this problem and it does seem to be its competition.

Strong replacement for Yoga and great 2-in-1

I've had 2 different Yoga's before buying this laptop to include a Yoga 1, as a work laptop, and a Yoga 2 Pro which I bought for personal use. I debated over what to buy as a second laptop (Yoga 2 Pro still alive and strong) and wanted something that was a lot like my Yoga 2 Pro. Seeing this thing in person completely convinced me it was the way to go. It's not only a very attractive machine, but it's extremely well built. Yes, it is heavier than the Yoga, but you're also getting much better build quality, full sized HDMI port, more USB ports, etc. Given the substantial increased functionality, the incremental weight different was easily justifiable for me. The pros and cons as I see are it are below: Pros: - Great high res screen - Great battery life - Keyboard has nice tactile feel and spring - Trackpad is very long, and makes scrolling sideways nice - A lot of bang for the buck - Build quality is exceptional and well thought out Cons - Cost is higher than Yoga - Weight is greater than Yoga Some strange behavior I've noticed and don't know what it is just yet include: - On lock screen I've had the laptop registering screen presses when I'm not actually touching the screen. I believe this has something to do with the USB3 dock that I'm using because it has not happened outside of it. - Plugging in headphones has sometimes not registered and so I have to go and change the audio out manually. Happened 1 time, so it may have been a software thing. Other laptops/machines I've considered and didn't buy: - Surface Pro - I couldn't get over all the accessories you need to buy and the strange feel of "lapability". - Surface Book - Extremely heavy and I couldn't get over the hinge. I do love the thoughts of a GPU, but I don't do graphis work. - Yoga 900 - Very nice competitor but it felt cheap and flimsy next to this Spectre. - HP Spectre - The new thin one is nice, but it also felt flimsy and no touch screen kills it. - Dell XPS13 - It felt too small. Didn't like the keyboard size. I would have gone to XPS15, but I didn't like the added weight.

    Almost perfect

This really should be a five star review. This combo laptop/tablet is pretty awesome. I just held back from the fifth star because of a few minor niggles. It gets hot. Real hot. If you don't put it on a hard surface (which allows the vents to work properly) if you use it while charging, if you do a lot of video/graphics type work, it heats up real fast. I ended up using my old Toshiba Ultrabook underneath as a heat barrier. Secondly (and I know this is minor) fingerprints. The Ash silver is beautiful, but it shows every fingerprint. The machine needs constant cleaning. It's also a bit heavier than my ultrabook, but I guess the touchscreen is part of the cause of that. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. The pluses far outweigh the minuses. And it does look very stylish!

    Hibernate issues ruin the experience

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Pros: - Stunning OLED 2560 x 1440 screen - Lightning fast - Elegant design Cons: - After several days of usage, the computer hangs when hibernating. I had to reset to Factory defaults to solve the problem. But the issue recurred again. I have been pulling my hair trying to fix the issue, and HP support recommended that I reformat the computer again. For such an expensive machine, and something that's supposed to be co-designed by Microsoft, I did not expect this. - Keyboard does not have dedicated Home, End, PgUp, and PgDn buttons. I frequently use these keys, and I have to press an extra Fn key to activate these buttons. - Hot. The unit can get extremely hot, which worries me.

    So Far So Good

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have had this laptop for 2 weeks. So far I like it. I am hoping that the battery life on this HP Spectre x360 is better than the Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 that I bought last year. I looked at the Spectre x360 when I was shopping last year but was swayed by the Best Buy salesman who said that HP was new to the convertible laptop market and had not worked the bugs out of the hinges. So, I went with the Lenovo Yoga Pro 2. I was happy at first but after only 1 year, even at 100% charge, I only have about 4 hours of battery life. So, I went back to Best Buy and this time chose the HP Spectre x360. If it does not meet my expectations then I will come back and post an update. So far though, I get about 9 hours out of a full charge.

I purchased the Ash Silver Spectre x360 with 16RAM & 512 GB Storage. The 1st one I brought home had something protruding from inside the computer housing at the bottom. The computer started up and looked beautiful otherwise but I wasn't willing to risk a later malfunction so I returned the device. The SECOND computer I brought home has so far been perfect for my purposes (word processing, internet, kindle, movies). It is gorgeous in every respect and has been a joy to use. I took away one star because it did not come packaged with a stylus and there is not an hp stylus that is expressly compatible with this machine. The HP Active Stylus gets mixed reviews in general and it is unclear whether it actually works with this device.

This is a really sharp looking 2 in 1, people around me were all very impressed by the laptop....however, in a few days, it started heating up, fan was blowing hard...and finally the hard drive stopped functioning, and it said " no hard drive"....so I returned it to the store, good thing is the customer service at BestBuy took it back so I have to go shop another brand and model.

    DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this laptop in July,,,,right out of the box it started giving me problems. It was overheating, battery draining quickly. I called HP support, they updated the BIOS, etc and seemed to have worked but short lived for few days. I left overseas a few days later and the same issue. As long as you use it on a flat surface, it seems to be fine...but that defeats the purpose of a laptop. It was overheating to the point it was not possible to place on my lap and work and the battery drained in 2-3 hrs. After calling HPS service they assigned a case manager, supposedly a level 3 tech who provided only out of the box answers. I sent the laptop for repair ...it has been two weeks, still no sign of it...they promised to get it back in 7 days. I expected after spending $1600 they would have priority service or replace the laptop without questions. Nice looking laptop...but that's where it stops. As always HP service is poor D-.....Buy some other laptop

So, I am a full time nurse by day, full time student by night and I work another job on the weekends. I have an apple iPad, use all apple products and I knew I needed a new laptop for school. This laptop has everything! It is so user friendly!! You can use this as a tablet OR laptop, it is touch screen, has so many options. super duper light, great quality, I do admit that I paid extra for the color but it's so worth it just to be different. I paired it with the blue tooth wireless mouse in the same exact color. I am more than satisfied. Thank you!
