    Spectactular Laptop

I ALWAYS read reviews regarding the latest technology and I have to say, this laptop exceeds everything that I had seen online. I visited my local store to test one out and the salesman was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. This laptop is fast, reliable, easy to use and the functionality is superb. Battery life is excellent and I have ZERO slow down with the SSD. Start up takes 5 seconds. LITERALLY.

    Quality Computer

Bought this computer (open box) for my husband in November. He went from an Asus Chromebook to this, mainly because his Chromebook was not performing the way he wanted. It's much faster, he can play his Steam games, browse Reddit, YouTube, and have all kind of stuff open up at one time because of the 16GB of RAM. Definitely worth the money!

    Nice Laptop but Screen Problem

Great service from Best Buy, arrived quickly. Laptop looks fantastic, very fast. BUT screen has a problem out of the box and seems there are many similar stories on YouTube. Bottom left of touchscreen activating rapidly like it is getting and input / touch. HP support ran through a few diagnostics, check up to date BIOS etc then said they will send a box for it for screen replacement and didn't seem surprised. Will be taking back to Best Buy this afternoon for replacement.

    Great laptop

Very well built. Color is gorgeous. No issues so far, had a few in the beginning but bios and other software updates got rid of those. Purchased this laptop in June of 2016 and have used it every day so far mostly for school and media consumption. Performs wonderfully. The finish on the edges do damage easily so I would be careful. No hard shell case for it so far probably because it's a convertible. QHD screen is very sharp and relatively color accurate. Plays simple games like overwatch and CS:GO at around 40fps. Does get hot over time if strained, fans aren't too loud though. I've noticed it has a hard time breathing when used on soft surfaces like your bed, carpet, or legs. Screen is very glossy and reflective in bright or outdoor environments. Great MacBook Pro alternative. Decided between this or an xps 13 and from what I've heard you can't really go wrong with either.

    Not perfect...

I bought this to replace my macbook and ipad. Well, the tablet use is not the greatest...when i use it to scroll with my fingers, it gets too sensitive and zooms in and clicks when I didn't want it too. I guess I'll just have to browse in laptop mode! I did buy the HP Active Stylus Silver (Model: j4r51aa#abl works with this!) so i tried out Photoshop CC 2017 and that works great with it! As many have pointed out, with certain apps the computer does get hot near the fan. The candy crush soda that comes pre-installed is the worst!! So i uninstalled that. Just beware of certain apps that use a lot of graphics and use a lot of CPU. Other apps work fine and don't heat it up too bad. Other than those few things, it's not too bad, the screen resolution is beautiful and it is a nice looking laptop.

Beautiful, but HP hardware and Support is faulty

Computer looks great, keyboard has great travel and no weird key placements. Everything seems to work great. I used HP support to get a recommendation on which stylus to buy - they said get the HP Active Stylus. It didn't work so HP chat support started to install new drivers, etc - they ended up disabling my touch screen. When I tried to refresh the drivers, or reinstall the new BIOS, it still wouldn't work. So I was told to Reset the PC - meaning go back to the beginning and have to update all my settings and reinstall programs. This didn't work. Another hour on chat support and they said I would have to send it in to be repaired - with no loaner PC. So I'm out of a laptop for two weeks and it is only a month old. Shoddy craftmanship.

    Good laptop, gets unbearably hot

The laptop is great, very fast, very good for multitasking. But when in use the bottom left part of the laptop gets so hot that I cannot have it on my lap. The fan also gets very loud, and it is very annoying and hard to work with.

    Touch Screen Malfunctions!!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased this for business use. This model of the HP Spectre x360 is premium priced because of the added features - namely the touch screen. Unfortunately, I have not been able to use the touch screen functionality because it malfunctions as soon as it is enabled - the screen acts as though it is being used and begins opening, closing and minimizing windows, programs etc. It occurs randomly and cannot be replicated "on demand". When HP Customer Service was consulted, their solution was to disable the touch screen... so I cannot use the feature that was the primary reason for the premium price. I purchased Geek Squad protection, so I'm hoping Best Buy has a viable and fast solution, because I depend on my laptop to run my business. It is really too bad the screen doesn't work properly because the machine is pretty good, but definitely not worth the price based on the issue with the screen.

I only gave 3 stars because I had to enter something to post this. My opinion may change later. This is only a partial review... Very happy with this so far. Purchased a MacBook in March 2016 and returned it. I chose the HP Spectre360 because I couldn't decide if i wanted an Ipad or a Laptop. This gave me the best of both. Had a few issues with the calendar date and the system date changing randomly. Geeksquad was able to fix it. That was back in april. I am writing this now (11/2016) because i just gave it to the geeksquad for repair. The keyboard is not working, seems like keys are stuck together. They are sending it to HP, they said it will take 2-4 weeks. After reading some of the other reviewers bad experiences....I'm afraid I'll be stuck trying to find a replacement. 2-4 weeks is a long time to be without a computer that i need for my job. I'm waiting to add stars to this rating. It will depend on the outcome of this issue.

    Great computer for the price

I purchased this during a Black Friday sale. It met all the bells and whistles, in terms of RAM and memory. I was going back to school so I needed something that could process multiple internet servers and programs. I also design so anything that could handle the Adobe suite and have capacity to save large documents. It is also a beautiful and stylish which was a plus. Overall happy with the purchase

I'm guessing it needs a dedicated GPU and it would be perfect. I intended using it for everything but mainly design work. Hp really did a great job with this one but i seen people using the pen for photoshop and things but i feel like it was all a lie. Even on low settings brush strokes are delayed and filters take forever to render...

I do a lot of video editing, and did my fair share of research before buying a laptop. When I went into Best Buy however, I was pushed by an employee to purchase this computer. HUGE MISTAKE. Although it has fantastic RAM and SSD storage, the graphics card is absolute trash, and it overheats constantly. File upload speed maxes out at around 30 MB/sec and in the two days I have had this laptop it has crashed uppers of 20 times while I was using Adobe After Effects or Premiere Pro.

    Will Break on You

I am going to keep this short. This laptop blew a fan within the first month of purchasing. I opened it up several months later to find the touch screen not working and that there were 2 cracks on the screen. I am a nursing student and take very good care of my laptops because I use them every day. They stay on my desk. I switched to HP from Macs, because I had heard so many good things about them. This is what I end up with. Best Buy then proceed to quote me $800 for the repair...That is almost the full cost of the laptop. I then come to find that I can buy a digitizer for it for $80 and have my brother replace that with no charge. Best Buy completely tried to take advantage of an issue and charge completely absurd prices. This laptop is very weak. I would highly recommend NOT purchasing this model. The incidence of screens breaking is not isolated here. It is all over the HP site and they have done nothing. DO NOT BUY THIS. You may regret it in the long run and be without a laptop or spending a fortune. Very bad experience here with this laptop and Best Buy.

    Extermly Short Battery Life

I'm a new user to Windows 10 so I am still discovering this laptop. The images quality seems good. The only problem I had and a significant one I must add is the short battery life. Without battery this laptop is useless therefore I give it a 1 star. I charged (laotop is off) the laptop overnight, when i awake I turned it own to see the percentage of charge and it has charged 100% I then right away turn off the laptop to use it when I return from work. After 12 hours without using it and turned completely off (not sleep mode) the battery charge lower to 50%. It's a shame aside from the battery issue I was satisfied thus far. I will be returning today. Is anyone else encountering this issue???

    Love and Hate

I've had this laptop about a year now and I truly do love it, however, every now and then I have issues with the sound button not turning on when I try to unmute it, touch screen and mousepad unresponsive, and issues with the OneDrive default . On the flip side, the sound quality, screen clarity, gadgets and ease of use make it one of the best laptops I've ever purchased. It is very sleek and light for the techy on the go.

    Short Battery

I returned this laptop because the battery drains very quickly, it didn’t last more than 5/6 hours in saver mode (screen bright 50%), wifi and Outlook. 6 hours was far away of the 14 hours advertised and furthermore, the CPU was too hot. The notebook is really nice but battery and CPU changed my mind and I returned to MacPro.
