Recommend Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased this laptop since my 2008 HP got bogged down, plus I wanted something newer and faster. I was sort of hesitant since there was mixed reviews, so I had bought a MacBook Pro and HP Spectre. Welp I ended up returning the MacBook Pro because the HP was so much more smoother, convenient, and faster. I definitely recommend this product.

Nice computer, I'm getting used to Windows 10
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the computer, however it is not holding a correct date and sometimes it doesn't hold the correct time. I have made sure the settings are correct for the time zone. The date and time will be correct for several days, and then viola - they are wrong again.

Faulty hardrive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My motherboard crashed after only a year of purchase. HP would not give me a refund or even acknowledge my emails, despite consistent evidence and physical proof. Sucks, because I used to love this computer-- it is so superficially appealing

Excellent Laptop for Versatility
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love the flexibility with the screen. It makes it easy to adjust for laying down and typing or if there's glare. The keyboard types really effortlessly and the large mouse pad makes it easier to navigate around the screen. Even though this laptop is a bit heavy, it is still thin and easy to carry around.

Great computer, a note about the graphics driver
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.**Please see my note about the crashing graphics driver below.** I have to say that I quite like this computer. I just upgraded from a 2006 Toshiba which was running Windows XP and could not be updated to Windows 7. Can you believe I've been running XP all these years? Anyhow, this is my first computer and OS upgrade in years, skipping from XP to Windows 10. I have to say that I am quite fond of this computer coupled with Windows 10. It's a very lightweight, sleek, and very handsome computer with the ash/black coloration and the copper trim. Oh so sexy. The touchscreen is responsive, the QHD display very crisp and clear. The screen is a little bit on the reflective side but I use this computer in low light settings 99% of the time so it doesn't bother me. I really am in love with the way the screen flips back and you can use it in tablet mode. I also like the tent mode option as well as the other configurations, which I never thought I would use but have found myself folding this device in all kinds of positions and I quite like its flexibility. The computer is rather quiet, the fan very silent and the computer doesn't make any strange noises nor any weird vibrations, all thanks to the solid state drive. The back light on the keyboard is very nice and useful. The keyboard itself is is very smooth and I like the type action. This computer is a pleasure to type on, as you can tell from my lengthy review. I don't have much to say about the track pad. I use a mouse most of the time, but the few times I have used the track pad I found it responsive and easy to use. The computer is snappy and spry, booting up very rapidly. I also haven't found that it gets very hot. I have seen other people complain about this but I don't have this problem at all. The battery life on a scale of 1-3 I would give a 2. It's not super great but it's not terrible either. I've seen others say that it's marketed as having a battery life of 11 hours. I don't see how this could be, perhaps if you keep it on energy saver mode with the screen dimmed as low as possible and only using the computer lightly. I tested how long I could use this computer without recharge and I got only 6-6.5 hours out of it, and that's with a 2 hour break where the computer was left on but the screen was folded down. So it lasted 6.5 hours and two of those hours it wasn't even being used and the remaining 4.5 hours was light use. I'm not bothered by this, my previous laptop had lost the ability to hold a charge altogether and I had to keep it plugged in at all times. I'm in no position to judge how long the battery on a lap top should last, and I will say that I'm satisfied that this thing will hold a charge for several hours at least. However, if it is marketed as getting 11 hours of use on one charge I have to say that I think that's a little misleading, as I don't think that's at all possible. But that's marketing for you...I don't have any serious complaints about the battery, I never expected to get 11 hours of use out of it and like I said about my old laptop I'm happy just to not have to keep it plugged in all the time. **Now about the graphics driver: My HD Graphics Display driver kept crashing from day one, and it would crash daily multiple times throughout the day. It was very annoying, and rather than being an over reactive grumpy consumerist, I connected with HP support to see if they had an explanation for this, so I explained the problem, and the tech 'took over' the computer, uninstalled the graphics driver, and reinstalled several others to see if he could fix the problem. None worked. He went to the Intel website and installed a beta driver which is supposed to fix the crashing driver. Guess what? Works like a charm! The display driver has not crashed at all since installing the new driver. It's actually an Intel problem, not an HP problem. It has something to do with the new 6th Gen processor that needs a better driver, and Intel has released the new driver. I would encourage you to connect with HP support and ask them to install the new Intel driver to fix the one that is crashing if you are experiencing this same problem. All in all, I quite like this computer and would certainly recommend it to others. Perhaps I should be giving it 5 starts instead of 4 but I believe there is always room for improvement. Perhaps in the future I will bump it to 5 stars but 4 stars is not bad at all. I do not regret buying this computer, it is a pleasure to use and like I said it's quite a looker.
