    Beautiful 2 in 1

I have my spectre 360 for only 2 days now. First I bought the surface book ($600 more) because sales people said it was the best. After setting up the surface book it froze on me twice in 10 minutes and then the mouse pad would not work. I packed it up and returned it within 1 day of purchase. Best buy was great this way. I bought the hp (that was my original intention) and just love it. Fast, boots up in seconds were the surface took almost 3 times as long. All in all the hp spectre 360 model 4593 is superb in every aspect. Just awesome!

I purchased this laptop/tablet combo a few months ago as I wanted something light and portable, but fast enough for everything except gaming. I hadn't really used it a whole lot up until now thanks to having to travel. Right out of the box I installed MS Office and the problems began. Without having the computer plugged in to the outlet at start up the computer would freeze before I could click on anything after login. Sometimes even with having it plugged into power it would freeze up and I'd have to power off/on to get it to work. Since taking it on my trip I have had to reload from the recovery files once already, and to my surprise (again with only having loaded MS Office), the computer is again locking up on simple tasks (i.e. closing out IE/Chrome). The reload from the recovery partition on the HDD took about 2 hours which is really stupid considering I barely had anything on the computer (I didn't even reload my back up files as they are now on an external HDD). Seems ridiculous for a computer with such little use to continually lock up like this to make it usable 50% of the time, ESPECIALLY at this price. The next time I have to reload from scratch I'm contacting HP. Overall I would recommend you look at something else more reliable if you're going for a laptop/tablet combo.

I've had this laptop now for almost 5 and a half years. Within two days the key pads started to wear, and before the first year some of the letters rubbed completely off, and later on holes started to form in the pads. I've never had this happen in any laptop, and I've kept all my laptops for years before replacing. Also there's a battery issue where the battery overheats and bulges. The laptop will not close because the keyboard bows upward in the middle. I use the laptop mostly for typing, with some occasional light graphic work using Adobe PS or Affinity Designer. (No heavy video editing). Performance-wise there have been no problems.

Great laptop, very poor battery life

Overall, this is a great laptop. Battery life, however, is not 12 hours as advertised. I cant get more than 5 hours, with screen at 50% brightness, only light web browsing and occasional youtube. HP should not advertise this as 12.5 hrs, when it cannot offer half of that time. Really disappointed with HP. If battery life is important to you, don't buy this, would strongly advise against buying this laptop.

    Excellent Laptop but not Perfect

I bought this laptop after months of researching for the best laptop for me and I absolutely love this laptop. It gets the job done. Its fast, has an awesome display, and overall a well balanced ultraportable. It does have a few minor issues though. It gets around 7-8 hours instead of the advertised 12.5 hours but then again, every computer manufacturer lies just a little about battery life. One minor problem that I didnt know until I bought it was that the battery indicator always says "Calculating..." instead of the estimated battery life or estimated charge time. Ive looked through forums and cant find a fix. Its not a big deal, im just putting it out there. It's not perfect but Im still giving it 5 stars because the pros definitely overpower the cons.

I bought this laptop for school. It has a fast processing speed compared to fellow classmates. Its great for netflix and hulu. runs my programs for school efficiently. If you are willing to spend the money for a higher quality laptop I recommend this one, I have not experienced any of the issues that other supposedly have had.

    Superb Laptop

This laptop is fast and the keyboard is excellent to type on, the track pad is nice too. The screen is very crisp and clear for 1080p I cant tell the difference from 4K displays but this one is good enough. The battery is awesome it last well beyond my needs since I only do school work on this laptop. The 360 feature is nice too have but I can live without it, and the screen automatically switches to table mode when you change the degree, the bezels don't bother me since I can use this laptop as a tablet. I prefer to have the keyboard on my chest and the screen at a 90 degree angle when I am laying in bed watching Netflix. Overall this is a outstanding computer in this price rang and, that's the reason I did not get the dell XPS 13 which is about $400 more. The fast processor, fast SSD (226gb usable), and pretty nice display that can rotate make this an easy purchase.

Product initially looked really good. It's pretty fast and lightweight. But, this laptop has overheating issues. You can't work keeping it on your lap. I ignored it initially but later realized it's really getting overheated on right side. One day, Microsoft Edge browser was hanged for more than 2-3 hours (might be a browser issue but still never seen a browser stuck for hours) . I immediately returned it!! I was expecting a super awesome product but disappointed with my experience!!

I have owned this PC for a month and I have been really pleased so far. The laptop is really quiet, lightweight, good looking and it starts up fast with good battery life. I'm glad I didn't spend the extra money to get the 4k screen as the screen that game with this model is excellent. The only thing negative I'd say is it get's slightly warm on your lap but I have never had a laptop that did not do this to some extent. I waited until bestbuy had a sale and was able to get this for $999 and then I got an additional $100 for the bestbuy student discount. For $899 plus tax I was thrilled to get this laptop.

    Defective product

It didn't turn on the first time, so I exchanged it with another one. I was happy in the beginning cuz it looks great, but later I noticed that the screen response to touch is inappropriate. It always Zooms in when you try to scroll, sometimes with even single touch. I called HP customer service and ran a test on the screen and it was found defective. Another thing I noticed is that the touch keyboard produces no keystroke sound despite turning on that setting. I went back to Best Buy and tried the display model and it actually had the same two problems so I returned it. SO DISAPPOINTED!!!

Another beautiful thing that has no substance

I needed to replace laptop and did tons of research. I wanted to switch into a 2-in-1. It came down to Surface Pro and Spectre 360. When got to BestBuy I saw how beautiful it was in person and on paper it had more to offer than a comparibly price Surface Pro 3. 3 BestBuy tech guys I talked to also gave the Spectre high marks. After I get it home and set everything up, this beautiful thing gave me problems (sound familiar). After download pics, set up accounts, etc.... It does an automatic update. After the update, no more wifi connections. I reboot it, reboot modem, trouble shoot network connections/configurations, all of it. I check my first Gen(but trusted Surface RT) and wife's MacBook and they both identify my wifi as well as 4 of my neighbors, but the Spectre sees not of it. Not sure if it's Windows 10 or the "new and supposedly better wifi in the Spectre", but a $1000 computer should not have wifi issues. This was supposed to be a big collaboration between Microsoft and HP....and they can't get a simple wifi connection to work....and they wonder why Apple is doing so well. I saw the other reviews regarding wifi, but I thought the positive reviews outweighed that. I thought I wouldn't get the lemon, but turns out I did. Immediately returned and exchanged for Surface Pro 3 with Windows 8. Not gonna upgrade to Windows 10 until summer and hopefully they have all these bugs figured out. They say it's takes a year to figure out bugs when new Windows comes out.... Until then, stick with Windows 8 or Apple iOS.

Before I got this beautiful hp laptop for college, I thought I would never find something that I like so much. I was so excited when I first got the laptop. I had great experience using it, was complimented by the design of it. I just loved everything that this laptop does. But after a year and a half of owning it, it stopped charging. I never dropped it or had any damages to it, so i thought it was the charger's issue, so I went to Best Buy and tried another working charger, it still doesn't charge, and later I found out that it was the motherboard that failed, and the whole motherboard has to be replaced(around 500$ for a motherboard). I was really mad and sad, because it broke right before finals, and all my notes were in there. Really disappointed in such an expensive laptop.

Initially loved this product. Used it as laptop only for about a week. Every time I used it more Microsoft updates and fixes to install. While using Internet would turn off after about 10 minutes and I would have to restart Internet browser--read blogs that this has happened to others. Doesn't have any place to hold a pen--if you buy one for it. Keyboard is unprotected when you use it as a tablet. I returned it and purchased another Mac.

I have had this laptop for less than a week and have used it maybe 3 times. Each time I run into a problem. It's a brand new laptop. It shouldn't have problems. 1) Google Chrome wouldn't launch. I had to uninstall and re-install which is minor enough if there weren't other issues 2) I restarted it and it froze on the restart menu for a good 10 minutes. I finally had to manually power it off and on. 3) When I put it into tablet mode and try to type in a search no matter the internet browser the tablet keyboard won't pop up. Even after ensuring tablet mode was ON. And flipping back and forth between tablet mode and laptop mode doesn't always work no matter what setting I try. My laptop mode gets stuck in tablet mode. My sister has the same laptop and it works fine. Maybe this was a glitch. Either way I am returning this because this one is not worth the $1260 I paid after taxes.

Issues Right Out of the Box

Like others have said in their reviews, the battery life on this laptop is not what its cracked up to be. Plus, the SSD on my unit was running at 40 C under no load, and over 50 C when under moderate load. Because of this, the device was too hot to use on my lap, and was very hot to the touch when sitting on a table or desk. I'm writing this review from my other laptop with a 500GB HDD and it is resting at 31 C.

Battery life is around 6 hours, which is not bad at all in my book! QHD resolution is perfect for the 13" screen! SSD speeds are pretty good as well! Only thing I would've wanted for was an option to upgrade to 16gb of ram, aside from that this laptop is awesome!

I am loving this laptop. I just started high school, and I bought this last summer. I have been very productive with this computer, although, I had a couple of issues with it. Build quality is nice, but very fragile. Don't let the metal fool you, it gets dents and chips EASILY. I take it to school once in a while for research projects, etc., and the laptop somehow manages to get a new chip somewhere -- especially in the corners. I wish they would've made the metal more durable. I even carry it around inside a sleeve, and inside a bag. Other than the build quality, which disappointed me, I have had a good experience. I kind of feel like I should've gone with a MacBook air though.

I needed to replace my old laptop. This one is a super upgrade. It's faster, lighter, and it's a tablet or a laptop. Fits my needs perfectly. I liked it better than the other laptops I looked at. I wanted / needed more than one USB port. This laptop has all the ports that I need. I am very happy with my purchase.
