This is a great personal use computer small enough and at the same time fast and powerful enough. I got a great price at best buy and I use it extensively for media and entertainment. Six months later I am still in love. It was virtually plug and play for me and I love the using the pen in tablet mode.

    Great Laptop & Tablet

Great laptop and the Tablet mode is an added plus. It is a nice package with all the ports and speed one could need. Didn't give it five stars because of two hardware issues and one software problem. However, these are easy to fix or work around as mentioned below. Touch pad is too sensitive even when turned down by settings. Simple solution is to turn off tapping when typing documents. Pad still works but you click instead of tap. Would have preferred a black keyboard for improved visibility in lower light conditions. Software issue is that neither HP nor Windows update programs install the two redistributable C++ programs (2015 versions) needed for iCloud to install and run properly. But, they can be easily downloaded from the web. Once installed and machine restarted, iCloud and iTunes load and run perfectly. Overall, this is a very nice laptop and plenty of muscle to last for years.

Great build but don't be fooled

I got this computer for my wife. She absolutely loved it for the first two weeks she had it, but after 2 weeks she couldn't connect to the internet anymore. I reset the computer, reset the router and changed the channel on the router, and everything that I was suggested to do to fix the issue. Nothing worked. I went to best buy and they replaced it without a problem. Well 2 weeks into the second computer the same issues happened. Both were brand new computers, and that is when we new that there was something wrong with HP's Spectre x360. Turns out after a little research and talking with some of Best Buys finest, there is a common issue with internet connectivity, and lots of these HP Spectre x360s had to be returned. I WOULD NOT BUY THIS COMPUTER. It will only cause you heartache and wasted time. You'll know the issue when you try to connect to the internet and it tell you that internet isn't available. I will not list any networks for you to connect to at all.

I am not a fan of Windows 10, however that should not deter someone from purchasing this product. The backlit keyboard and touch screen really add functionality. I would give it a five if Windows 10 drivers did not cause spontaneous rebooting.

    Looks Great. Preforms Poorly

At first the laptop was great, but after the first month it's performance and the wireless functions started to falter. Now, the connection is constantly spotty. I've gone on the forms, followed all the advice HP has given about this laptop, and it still doesn't work to get what it needs to done. What's the point of having a laptop that cannot connect to the internet via Wifi? I should've bought a desktop if I didn't want to move around with it. It is basically a paperweight without access to the internet. There are a lot of better options out there, I regret buying this laptop. I would never get another HP product since they aren't addressing the issue, especially since it is considered their "Flagship" device.

this computer is gorgeous and lightweight. It's also very slim and easy to carry around. The QHD screen pops nicely and is very bright. I'm still getting used to the wider mouse pad but it's an easy thing to get used to .

    Key Pad Rattles

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I just bought the Spectre x360 today as ill be needing it for college soon, and I initially thought it was an amazing laptop. The only problem I've noticed was a rattle with the key board which I tried to ignore, but it has only become more and more obvious as I use it. It is incredibly annoying especially after paying $900 for what is supposed to be a premium quality laptop. Tapping lightly will not help stop the rattling noise at all. I even compared it to my sisters 6 year old MacBook Air which still looks just as good, and the keyboard on the MacBook feels much more sturdy and well made. Looking up the problem will show you that there is a design error with the laptop and the only solution I can find is opening it up and putting a piece of tape between the touchpad and the computer. Now I'm trying to decide whether I should go through the trouble of returning it after i've already personalized it or risk opening it up and damaging it. A brand new computer should not be having this problem. -Jak

    Complete satisfaction

I have not purchased a laptop for a long time, so I was pretty anxious about making an expensive mistake. My fears proved to be unfounded as the HP Spectre X360 is a great machine. The display is beutiful (but with a lot of reflection), the keyboard feels perfect for a laptop, and the style is beautiful (no need to splurge for a Macbook). I wish the on/off button were a little easier to find and opening the laptop was a tad bit easier, but these are very minor complaints. If only it was a little less expensive, I would give it five stars instead of only four.

I've never written a review before. This computer proves itself every time I use it not to let someone fall in the trap of buying it. I'm use to PC's I have an Iphone, but had always used PCs in past and did not want to be the typical Apple person you see all the time, and buck that trend. Everyone told me get Apple as they are stable. Sadly, I went against that advice. This laptop needs to be avoided. I had the most patience w it, more than I should of, because I "just liked it" it was thin, it was light, it looked sleek. But its sooooo unstable. The guys at Best buy tried fixing it for me just 31 days after my purchase (reason I did not take it to them sooner was I didn't use it much until about 20 days after buying. Problems that it does daily. It freezes about every 4 or 5 mins in web searches. It does so to the point you have to restart comp. sometimes 2 or 3 times before its usable. I've done system restarts more than 5 times maybe even 7 times. I've lost tons of data. Speaking of lost data, I swear, just moments before I posted a review of this comp the screen flashed that it need to restart, I swear it happen, yes I was mad. I now sit at my desktop- I don't trust that comp- and I'm writing a review of it for the second time.. As for WiFi, its hit and miss if it connects. I get it, its cool looking, but its not what it says it is. The battery is only about 2 hours, and that's if you have just a few web pages open and have the screen level on 75%. If you're looking for a good laptop, look elsewhere You're welcome.

    Flickering Screen

The first one I bought had a flickering screen. It happened ever so slightly, but it was noticeable. I exchanged it for the same model, and the same thing happened with the second one. I showed it to my other family members to make sure I wasn't crazy. I have to return the second one now.

    UNRELIABLE

I bought this so I could work on graphic design with it. When I first got it had a screen problem right out of the box so had to change it. After i got the second one I been having crash issues too often. All drivers are updated, all windows updates applied etc. When I start to watch youtube videos sometimes the screen starts to flash black until stays black and you can see the mouse but not even ctrlaltdel gets you anywhere, you need to force shutdown. I had issues where Im working on a design on corel draw and it crashes and I lose progress. Had the same issue with Illustrator, photoshop, premiere and others; It drives me crazy. Overall is quick and looks neat but is not reliable at all if you are using it for serious business.

My wife got me this laptop in June 2016 and after a month the scene suddenly cracks while laptop was right in front of me. I called Hp to have it fixed and they requested i send the laptop for investigation. After investigating,Hp says its my fault so I have to pay for the screen to be repaired. I don't have that money to spend so am having my laptop returned to me unrepaired.

    Complete Junk

I bought this computer because I needed a Windows based computer to do some business with state websites where I do business. Unfortunately, the state is very behind the times, and many of their websites are not compatible with Macs. I've had PCs in the past, but primarily started using Macs about ten years ago. Having come to love their ease of use, I vowed to never buy a Windows based platform again. Unfortunately, I had to for business reasons. So I bought this HP. The bottom line- my 7 year old Mac runs circles around this thing. It took all of about two weeks for this HP to start locking up and flooding me with error messages. The first night I had it, I think it took me about fifteen minutes just to figure out how to print a document. Windows 10 is a nightmare Adding peripherals on my Mac involves plugging them in. Adding them to this HP so far has involved hours of trying to load drivers and work around error messages. The best thing about this computer is that it has reaffirmed my pledge to stick with Macs, even if they cost more. For the most part, this expensive HP was set off in a corner and isn't used but maybe five minutes a month when I have to have Windows. Other than that, it's an expensive and pretty paper weight.
