Best Windows Ultrabook Available in Q1 2015

The Spectre X360 configured with a fifth generation core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 1080P (full HD) screen is currently the best Windows Ultrabook on the market and a very good value. There is little that I can say in this review that hasn't already been captured by others. Read the professional reviews for additional information as well. The two biggest complaints about the Spectre X360 are the weight and the screen glare. The weight is marginally more than comparable devices, but the battery life is far superior. I get a week's worth of use in the evening between charges. That's an excellent payoff for a little more heft. The screen is perfect for all indoor uses; I can't speak to outdoor use. I can't recommend the QHD screen because Windows and some applications, particularly anything from Adobe, still have problems with high pixel density screens. Yes, the QHD screen reduces the weight slightly, but the battery life is decreased and menu fonts will become eye tests when you struggle to read the tiny fonts. The machine is incredible fast and responsive. The performance is simply excellent all around.

I am very disappointed in this laptop. I use it for work and it is sooooo slow!!!! Takes forever for new web pages to come up. It has frozen a few times already as well. Even excel opens slow and everything types slower than my fingers are hitting the keys. The speed reminds me of the old days with dial up connections!

Was bought as a gift for my wife. Would still like to see a PC that runs like the old windows 10. There is such a difference between what your use at work and what we have at home. Sometimes logging on to work from home is a problem

Loved so much about this laptop - the small size, attached keyboard, high-end processor, great specs, lots of ports, fantastic battery life, and good price. But it kept crashing on me! I took restore points every day to restore to, then it stopped allowing me to restore to a restore point. Uggghhh!

So, I loved this computer for about 11 months, until during finals week the battery slowly stopped charging. It took 3 weeks of phone calls to get someone at HP to agree to let me take it into a Best Buy to have it repaired for free, even though it was still under warranty; thankfully, the customer service at BB was great, and they had my computer back to me in a few weeks. Still, that's over a month without my computer. Then, a week after I got it back, the screen cracked! I love everything it does when it's working, but honestly I've had so many issues with it that I don't think I'd buy another one.

Better than the Dell XPS 13 if you ask me

I was in the market for a premium laptop that would hopefully not break down while using. At first I purchased the dell venue 8 pro which ran windows 8.1 in a tablet form factor and I enjoyed it greatly. Although after a couple of months it began to get very slow and Microsoft Office wouldn't even work properly. So that's when I began to look for a new laptop. I had my mind set on getting the dell xps 13 until I saw this laptop at last minute. The whole 2in1 thing really got my attention so I began to do some more research on it and I found that this laptop seemed more better than the dell. So ditching my previous plans I went ahead and bought this bad boy. I'm glad I did. This laptop is just hands down amazing. The aluminum finish is just beautiful and makes this laptop stand out. The screen is gorgeous, I mean the 1080P just looks amazing. The dell did have a 2k screen but that really kills down battery life and is kind of overkill to me. That brings me to the battery life, this is where the Spectre really shines. This laptop TRULY HAS FULL DAY BATTERY LIFE. The battery on this thing lasts forever. With heavy full usage you can achieve all day battery life (with low brightness of course#. Now with light to moderate usage, your looking at 2-3 days, I kid you not. However there is a catch, you must keep the brightness low, you have to. This is where I dislike the HP. The brightness on this laptop is pretty terrible. The brightest this thing can go is really not that bright. And even on full the battery will die. Keeping it on low brightness is ugly, but if you want that extremely long battery life, its worth it. Also, this thing is pretty hefty, it weights a lot, but hey, you can't have everything. Also, this laptop is really quick. Applications open up quickly, and web pages load up ridiculously fast. Gaming on here such as asphalt 8 is a blast. You will not be disappointed, I can guarantee it. Lastly, the 2in1 design is just so flipping fun. This thing instantly flips into a tablet type thing #a heavy tablet haha) and games just look gorgeous. I recommend getting the i7 processor, its super quick and wont let you down. I hope this review helps people who are in the market for a premium laptop.

Such a beautiful machine - worked great and I loved it until the fan came on and ruined everything. It was so loud, there was no way I could ignore it or live with it. Sadly, returned it the next day.

This is a terrible computer. It keeps disconnecting from WIFI and the printer. It doesn't help that it's loaded with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2010 (both inferior iterations of earlier versions). I've always had HP PCs, but my next computer will be a MAC. I don't care that the computer is a "2-in-1" with a touch screen. I need a computer for doing actual work, not for playing. Unfortunately, there weren't many choices in 13" laptops. Anyone want to buy a slightly used computer?

the best specs we could find in a 2in1 laptop, but the headphone jack or audio card driver was defective out of the box. the updated driver from HP's website got caught in and endless loop trying to uninstall the previous version and refused to install the new version as a result. this laptop was way too expensive to have to mess around with a silly, simple driver install. returned this one and went with a dell and all is well

I took the laptop home the first day and had major issues with it!! I had to call Geek Squad several times and also bring it ino the store. It worked 1 day and then started having problems again with it. I would have the computer on and walk away for a few minutes....I would then press the mouse pad to turn the screen on and it would not go back on. It crashed about 1 week after purchase. I returned it and ordered a Dell instead.

    WOW!

I've had this laptop now for a couple of months and all I can say is WOW! The battery really does last all day and I use my laptop heavily. I got the Spectre with the intel I7 processor and 8GB of RAM and this little baby powers through any task I throw at it. I've done all kinds of graphic work on this laptop and it handles it better than my Mac. The tablet feature does take some getting used to, mainly because I kept hitting keys on the keyboard that was on the flip side, but once you get your hands just right, it works great. The screen is also crisp and clear. I thought I would have a hard time reading it because it's substantially smaller than the laptop it was replacing, but I was pleasantly surprised when I can actually read this one much easier than the 17" monster I used to carry around. I would highly recommend this laptop if you're looking for a powerful, yet light laptop. You will not be disappointed. One thing of note, when you first pop it out of the box and turn it on it will update so the fan tends to run really fast and really loud, but it does go away after all of the updates are done. I was worried at first because I thought it would stay like that permanently, but was pleased when it finally stopped. Buy this laptop, you won't regret it!
