Good computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Computer is super-fast. It boots in no time. The only reason why I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because sometimes it takes some time for wi-fi to get enabled after being on sleep mode and because the fan starts often, which does not happen on my wife’s computer, who has the 5th gen i-5 256 GB HP Spectre x360 model.

Amazing laptop!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this laptop. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. I love how versatile it is; I like to use my laptop in strange positions and this laptop really works for me. I also bought a dell stylus and it has been wonderful! I can draw and I can also write notes as well as annotate pdfs which is actually really helpful for school. I originally bought a Microsoft Surface Pro so that I can take notes, etc. on it, but I returned it because I felt like the keyboard was flimsy, it was too top heavy, and I couldn't use it while laying down. The HP Spectre x360 could do everything the surface did while also feeling a lot sturdier. This laptop is well worth the money!

Tablet features get in the way
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far this one is not my favorite of all HP's I have owned. The touch pad on keyboard seems too big and gets in the way when using as a desktop---way too sensitive and I often touch it inadvertently and get a surprise screen resize or such. Flat keyboard not a tactile plus. I could not care less about the touchscreen feature, as the screen gets smudged when this feature is used. Purchased this model mainly because I needed a laptop with a more durable solid state drive for travel, it was lightweight, and because this was available in store in open box (discounted) the day I put an older HP in for a 10-day repair window. Thumbs down for no DVD player---but the norm for tablets---so if you want that, you need a separate purchase. I've spent a lot of time already with Geek Squad just getting setup and done and handling error messages from various programs. That said, when it works it works fast. However, even with substantial discount I found this overpriced. The jury is still out as to whether this model grows on me sufficiently to merit the price.

Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its a great laptop with superior quality in hardware and software. It is one of the best laptop for reading books in tablet mode with touch navigation. I played NFS The Run (25 GB game) on it smoothly at 1600*900 settings (though it lagged little bit at FHD settings) but It heats enough when using graphics intensive applications (cool or mild warm while using light applications). I would definitely recommend it to users who are willing to buy a laptop that can be sometimes used as a tablet. For the other way around, go and buy a Surface pro 3. I just wish that it were little lighter than 1.4kg so that you can use it in tablet mode without resting your arm against something. But, it definitely is one of the best out there in 2015.

Best one I've had in awhile
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice graphics, light weight and strong battery. These are all things I was looking for and found in this laptop. It's also hard to find a nice keyboard on a laptop but this one is great.

Frustrating, on 3rd laptop and its going back too.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop after a lot of research. Pretty much every review praises this laptop and if you sort all laptops by ratings on this site or any other site (like Amazon) after the Macbooks and Surfaces, this is the first proper Windows laptop that shows up. I also had gone to the store and checked out the Windows 8 model prior to buying. I bought the highest end model with 512 GB SSD and the 2560x1440 display. First laptop - the touchscreen wasn't working and contacted HP support the same day I bought the laptop. They remote installed bios upgrades and updated the drivers. Nothing would make the touchscreen responsive. Told me to return the laptop. Other issue I had was that no matter what I did I wasn't able to reverse the direction of scrolling on touch pad, I could do it in certain apps, but not in all apps and the entire OS. For the price the charger is the same that comes with a $300 HP laptop, I would've preferred a magnetic charger. Also keep in mind that Windows doesn't scale well with high end displays and you're actually better off using the 1920x1080 display. Some applications are impossible to use since the text size will be so small even at 2x magnification. The keyboard is good but not great and doesn't feel solid. The backlit 'on key' is the most idiotic thing I've ever seen on a laptop, it just stays on and very bright all the time, except when you have the backlit on. Second laptop - the touchscreen was responsive and working fine, but the touch pad still woudn't reverse (not that I cared at this point). However this laptop would really get hot and would be impossible to really use it as a 'lap'top. And this isn't while playing some super HD videos or processor intensive games, just regular using of the OS/browsing. The battery life isn't as advertised and I never got more than 5 hours (again on normal use). HP again told me to return this. Third laptop - I'm having intermittent touchscreen problems again and this laptop has the worst touch pad. It is so loose that it makes a click noise the minute I touch it. Not clicking, just touching makes the noise. Do a web search for all the above issues and you will see plenty of people have these issues. I'm surprised of the high ratings this laptop has received. All in all, a good concept, very well designed and built, the aluminium case is really well crafted, but let down by lousy driver support, manufacturing defects and quality control issues. HP is still the same old HP.

Runs hot, fan breaks. HP service stinks.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading reviews about it running hot, I was still attracted by other features and decided to buy. Big mistake. 1.5 months in, and the fan starts grinding. Now it's to the point that it sounds horrible and co-workers across the room hear it. Not even sure the fan is working. HP has no retail options for fixing it (would void warranty), and wants to take 7-9 days to service it. I'm 2 hrs on the phone already just trying to get the box to ship it back. The product is shiny but lousy, and the customer service terrible. Save yourself the grief.

Don't Buy! Heats up too much
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the HP Spectre X360 13.3 a week ago. This laptop is junk. It's noisy and started heating up after 20 minutes browsing the internet. The fan kept kicking on. It was an annoying sound that was more than obvious. When feeling the bottom of laptop, it was warm enough to not want it sitting on your lap. I usually use a lap desk with a fan. I have never had to use the fan until now. Six years ago, I had an HP with a similar problem. I was skeptical, but with such good reviews, I thought HP finally fixed the heat and fan problem. I was WRONG. The screen and speed of this computer was no better than my five year old 11 inch Gateway. This is a very disappointing computer. I updated the drivers and still experienced the same problem. I returned the laptop and will NOT purchase another HP product. I DO NOT recommend this laptop to anyone.

Crackling sound on third unit and no help from HP
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my third unit. Same issues like with a first ones. Except the first one had a faulty keyboard. Battery - advertised 12 hours is only in a dreams. Battery with easy load will last only 4-6 hours. Try to put this overpriced machine on your lap while charging and watching any type of video - you will have a second degree burn on your legs. Crackling sound - nothing solves the issue, drivers, useless HP help, google. No solution to fix this issue. All three units same issue. HP response - send in the machine for repair. Seriously, 1-2 week old machine send in for repair?!?! Get a better QC department before releasing the product. It starts with online videos like (youtube, Netflix etc) and later crackles on anything (skype, vlc, viber etc.) HP service - whats that?! Totally useless. Companies like apple, Microsoft, google will stand behind the product and if you have issues with no questions they will replace it with a new machine and HP, when you pay over $1500 at least you want a smooth running product which you do not have to send in for repair after one week of usage. I wish I could give more star for the product itself, but HP customer service just kills it. Please spend extra buck and get surfpro or other similar machine. I wish I was still in return period with this third unit. Good luck!

Great Laptop for Traveler
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an incredible laptop with a great screen, good battery life, and perfect for a frequent business traveler. The Flip to Tablet option is nice so I don't have to shut down for plane landing. I've purchased for three of my employees since buying this one.

Blew up in my face!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful machine worked flawlessly for about 4 months. I'm a solo law firm so used mainly for documents. Completely died no hope of recovery - critical hard drive failure. Working on replacement/refund. Save your money do NOT buy this laptop.
