A compact efficient laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lightweight and efficient! Fits smaller hands nicely. Fast and ready to go. Would be a great computer even if you decide to go with a lesser screen. Nice to have the extra viewing size with this small footprint. Sound is good. Fans rarely come on and are quiet. Overall satisfied with the purchase.

Wanted to like it…but I couldn’t
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After weeks (literally weeks) of watching video reviews, reading online reviews and multiple trips to Best Buy to compare this unit, it’s keyboard, screen, TB ports, etc, to several others…I brought one home. Unboxing it was “Apple-like” with with presentation being very impressive. It looked amazing on my desk and after agreeing to an endless amount of HP and Windows agreements, I was ready to use it. The screen was beyond beautiful, so clear, crisp and clean. The keyboard was just as good as my 2020 MacBook Pro and the audio was decent. Fingerprint sensor was just about as good and quickly opened the device. No comparison to Apple Watch unlocking, but still pretty good. I left it for a few hours, letting it finish a myriad of Windows updates. I noted when I returned that it was very hot to the touch, but wrote this off to the updates pushing it to its limits. So, off for the night and ready to work the next day. Unfortunately, the next day started with a blue screen. I reset the device and tried later that day to use it. This is when I noted that every time I used the device, it was very hot within 5-10 minutes of PowerPoint building or web browsing. Literally so hot that a lap could not be used and it had to be placed on a table or desk. Meh, no worries, it’ll be fine I said. The next day, another blue screen and once resolved, continual hot conditions. Not just hot, but to the point where it smelled like it was burning the lacquer finish off of my tabletop as I used it. I don’t game and this is a work device, never being pushed hard. It ended up going back, even after all the time I put into deciding that’s”it was the one”. None in stock so I wasn’t able to exchange and try another. Instead, I’m looking at switching to Lenovo or Asus. Sorry HP, but two too many blue screens in 24 hours and the temperature issue both swayed me to another brand.

Awesome
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome laptop. Been using it in college all semester and wouldn’t switch to anything else. The portability and battery life are both awesome for doing homework away from my dorm. Also great for watching tv on when I’m just chilling. Only downside is that the speakers on it aren’t great but I rarely have to use them over using headphones anyway.

Beautiful laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop was exactly what I was looking for - speed, lots of RAM, large SSD hard drive, great graphics, and easy to take with me. What I was not expecting is how beautiful the Nightfall Black is and the attractive sleeve included which I will use carry and protect the laptop when I travel. Even the boxes it was packed in where impressive.

Superior
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had several HP and Dell models, however, always find myself coming back to the HP. This model is great, a bit noisy fan, but excellent for what I am doing. I am impressed with the hardware for the price. The keyboard is easy to touch and so is the touchpad. I am not a tech geek but I try to get all options out of a unit. You cannot go wrong with these specs.

Unreliable and full of quality control issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A list of problems with this model: - Fan noise/thermals(hot) - Dead pixel upper center left - Chassis(bottom) creek/pop.. not assembled correctly - Speakers only sound good after restarting, then the volume is too low even at the highest setting on all applications. - Sometimes won't wake up from sleep - Optane is questionable, my 2016 HP Spectre boots and is faster to load then this. - Can't even play simple games like League of Legends at native resolution(3000 x 2000). You'll get drops to 20-40 fps. - There is a very noticeable grid pattern on the display for the pen to work - Brightness adjustments randomly stop working after closing the laptop - On one model the '9' key became stuck and difficult to actuate. - Eats through the battery - Randomly blue screens of death while doing light photo/video edits What's good: - Keyboard and trackpad feel good to use - Aspect ratio of 3:2 - Multiple color display modes - Windows Hello and fingerprint scanner - Looks attractive Overall HP has a good design here, but I would definitely wait until they release a newer version of this. This one just doesn't have the build quality/performance expected at this tier of laptop.

Third Time's the Charm
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Third time's the charm. After two past disappointing purchases in the same category as this, I finally found a great all around laptop. Super responsive. Great touch screen and back lit keyboard. Lightweight. Better than my previous Dell and Lenovo by far.

HP Spectre X360 14t
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent machine - had to buy from Best Buy (Glad I did) because HP couldn't ship a working model that I wanted (I wanted the blue with the lower res screen for extended battery life) The OLED screen is so nice, I am so glad HP's online store screwed up.

Great laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect size and plenty of power and that screen just draws you in!! I first brought the larger 15.6 version of this laptop, but it got heavy in my back pack. Because I plan to take the laptop with me most places I needed something lite. With the 3.2 aspect ratio I didn't feel like I missing much giving up the 15.6

A top of the line laptop for a reasonable price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The keyboard has good feel and travel and the OLED screen is just plain gorgeous. A full 4k would be overkill at this size. I've been running the brightness at less than 50%. The 3 by 2 aspect ration works great for web pages, documents and spreadsheets. Videos look great, with top and bottom borders I don't find off-putting. Regarding earlier generation Spectres I recall regrets that there was no place to stow the pen. This newest model's pen magnetically attaches to the left side of the keyboard, pretty solidly. There is also a pen slot in the included carry sleeve. Windows Hello works well for logging in without PIN, password or finger swipe. The only two improvements I would make are to add an HDMI port so that I don't need to carry a dongle (make it a mini HDMI if necessary) and restore the Control key to the right of the spacebar, moving the fingerprint reader back below the arrow keys where it has been until now.

Very disappointing
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After using this laptop for 3 weeks I am pretty disappointed. While performance seems OK, I found three major issues so far: 1. After connecting the laptop to Bluetooth headphones, if I turn off the headphones or disconnect them, the laptops goes back to its own speakers, as it should. Except there is NO SOUND. The only fix is to reboot 2. When switching to tablet mode, if the laptop goes to sleep and turns off the screen, there is no way to wake it up other than flip the screen back to laptop mode and wake up from there. 3. Camera quality is horrible. I compare with my 3 years old Surface and there is a huge difference: the HP image looks like the old webcams from the 2000 years, a lot of granularity, faded colors, etc I hope the first two issues will be fixed in software, sooner or later, I don't see any improvement coming from the camera, since it is a hardware issue

Perfect design
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a replacement laptop for Lenovo Yoga 940 and did some research on the best laptops, and this one headed the list, now I see why. It has everything in a small lightweight design. All the features are great, from the display, speed, storage, ease of use. It packs a great punch. It was a great choice.

Very pleased with the HP Spectre
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good with my new HP laptop. I have been very pleased with how quickly it was to set-up and use right out of the box. It has more than met my expectations for processing speed and capacity. My previous laptop has been a Lenovo; generally OK but I like the keyboard on this machine and the camera is a great improvement.

Almost perfect
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An outstanding laptop. OLED screen is superb along with 3000 x 2000 aspect ratio. Great for working with the extra room. Responsive and solid. The operating system is slick and works very well. Main issue is OLED reduces battery life but the HP power management is good at maximizing run time.
