I bought this printer to keep the bigger pictures. This one does not print as clear sharp pictures as the smaller Sprocket but I kept it too long to return it. At least I didn't pay full price since it was on sale.

Great printer for on-the-go photos and stickers!

This printer is a great little printer for on-the-go photos and stickers. Out of the box, it's super easy to setup with your phone or tablet. Apps exist on both the Apple App Store and the Android Google Play Store. It comes with a micro-USB charge cable and 10 sheets of paper to get started (and yes this paper is special and does not need ink! the paper also has a sticky back so it's versatile!).. Once you plug it in and set it up it's easy to use! Simply turn it on, launch the app and print. Even the initial setup (pairing) is easy and you can share the print queue with more than one device which works great if you want to let someone else print to it or you have both a tablet and a phone and you want to have both setup to print to it. Only thing that I'd say is the print quality is not like what you'd see out of your inkjet photo printer but it's good for "just for fun" or scrapbook prints. For what I use this for it's perfect and the best one out there in terms of size, quality, and ease of use.

Best thing about this printer is it’s size. About the same size as an IPhone Plus. Fits easily in my pants pockets. The size makes it very portable. The printer is built very well and I’m not afraid of caring it with me. The Photo quality is not the same as from your local photo lab. But you also don’t have to wait an hour too.

I was so excited when I first learned about this product. I am in charge of taking pictures every year at my company Christmas party and was excited to be able to print the pictures the day of with no delay. To my surprise you can’t print too many pictures at a time. The first picture is good. Then extremely disappointed that the pictures after get darker and darker. A waste of money because I end up having to print the same picture multiple times to get a good one.

    Great Portable Printer

Overall, I really enjoyed using this portable printer. Setup was easy and the resulting “prints” were of good quality. Kind of brings back the novelty of the instant Polaroid cameras of the past but with the convenience of being able to print wirelessly. As far as the potential users? Perhaps if you have older relatives who are not electronically connected, people who still scrapbook, children who take pictures and want to do art projects/collages, etc. With a myriad of high quality desktop photo printers, the main distinguishing features are its size and portability. Accordingly the retail price may be a little high given its niche appeal.

    A specific-purpose printer exceeding expectations

The HP - Sprocket Plus Photo Printer is a great gadget for enjoying immediate print-outs of pictures from your phone. The design and construction is surprisingly solid, attractive and substantial. Initial set up was very simple, once the unit was charged. Mine needed a firmware update which, once installed, made occasional printing much more reliable. The add-on stickers, frames, etc are easy to apply. I was especially intrigued by the ability to have information ‘embedded’ in the printed photo so that, when you scan it with the Sprocket app, it displays the info for you. When I used that feature, it showed me: 1) the photo in the context of my photo collection, 2) a map showing the location of the picture, 3) a wikipedia entry on the location or city, and 4) an AR-like 360º view of the location that scrolls as you move the phone. I was surprised at how much that last feature fascinated me. To see the setting of the picture brought back fresh memories of when it was taken. As far as print quality goes, I had no expectations of a tiny, mobile printer producing framable quality prints. However, the quality easily beats old polaroids and instamatics - and I like the fact that the picture completely fills the print with no white border. HP - Sprocket Plus Photo Printer is a specific-purpose printer that exceeded my expectations.

I really enjoyed using this printer. The portability of it is what I enjoyed most. We were able to take it with us when visiting family to quickly print some photos to leave behind. The app is easy to use but could use more editing features. The photos printed rather quickly and were of good quality. They will not replace the high quality prints most people order however it's not intended to. This is for quick on the go photos which you can hand out or even stick anywhere. I forsee it getting a lot of use.

I purchased this for a trip with my wife to Bora-Bora. I thought it would be fun to take photos and print them out into a scrapbook, but the overall photo quality was poor and the printer itself would overheat after printing 1 to 2 pictures. I ended up returning this printer and don’t recommend it,

Got this for my daughter’s wedding so guest could snap pictures and print her big day. Only one person can have the app turned on at a time even if no one else is using it. Plus after it printed two pictures it would have to cool off before you could print again. Took it back and got a refund.

    HP Sprocket Fun

Took a while for me to receive this HP Sprocket from the manufacturer, but it is certainly on the go fun printing. I found this quite easy to figure out and use. In fact, for someone who just got a smart phone just last month, December 2017, the set up and printing was no big deal. Like so many new tech items, the instructions are basically pictorial with very little in writing. The first thing the user needs to do is get the HP Sprocket App, which we did for both Android and IPhone devices. That download was quick and easy for both platforms. Next, I inserted the photo paper and then set the Sprocket printer up to charge, which was also timely. The Sprocket requires you to have the Bluetooth from you phone or device on so that it can pair both devices together, no problem there either. Quite frankly, it was an easy and seamless task to go from set up to printing within minutes. As a second delivery, I was sent a box of 20 photo paper inserts and I see that those on Best Buy's site cost $12.99 which very pricey. A fun way to print at a price

This is a simple photo printer that It is easy to set up and use with the HP app. It is also very small, sleek, and easily portable. The photos are slightly larger than the previous version, and replacement photo paper is a reasonable cost. I wasn’t expecting great prints, but the colors are a bit off. This results in somewhat dull looking prints, most noticeable in bright colors and higher contrast photos. Print quality aside, it is fun to take and print memories quickly.

I love this little printer. It doesn't have perfect HD quality, more of a soft vintage feel to the pictures. But they are clear for the most part and everyone I've shown loves it. Pictures are peel and stick if you want and have a glossy finish, bonus they are water resistant. The software so far has been glitchy here and there but updates will work out the bugs. The editing software works great and gives you tons of features to customize your photo, tint, sharpness, color, filters, type, draw, add clip art etc. I don't see carrying this thing around everywhere but perfect for parties and events. I've been using digital photography for so long, its nice to hold pictures in my hand again. I am ordering some 50 pack refills (can be ordered in 20 also) after I finish typing this review up. Will be great to use for leaving love notes for the better half around the house and any other ideas you can come up with. Well worth it!

I love new tech gadgets. This little printer fits my hand just like my iPhone plus. I found it it easy to set up, although when loading the included 10 sheets of paper, it took a bit of searching to figure out how it opened. I downloaded the app and followed the setup. So far, I’ve only printed two pictures. The quality and color of the prints make this a novelty item at best. I imagine this would be fun at social gatherings. I plan to order a carrying case and keep the printer safe and available in my purse. I’ve also seen a cute set of led string light “clothes pins” that you clip prints on. We have a camper and I can imagine this attached to our awning with “campfire” photos attached to the lighted clothes pins. I wish you could buy larger packs of paper. All in all I’m looking forward to showing off my new toy at my husbands 72nd birthday in a couple of weeks. Hopefully by then I will have more paper.
