Excellent Recovery Boot System
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The older I get the more important it is to get up and move. Over the past year I've taken fitness more seriously than ever. Walking, running and weightlifting have been a part of my personal health. The thing that always keeps me away from being consistent are time and recovery. Gone are the days that I play full court basketball for hours on end and then wake up and have a normal day. Recovery, stretching, hydrating are all a part of my life. These boots, when used consistently are a wonderful recovery tool. At 5' 10" they fit perfectly my legs perfectly. Not too high or low on my body and not too tight which was an issue with a previously owned recovery system I owned. The quality of the Normatec system you can feel when removing from the box. The boots feel quality and the control unit has some weight and is well made but rather compact. It came charged up completely and the batter is said to last 3 hours. I use it quite a bit and charge it randomly when the battery drops a little. Never had an issue with battery life. When I first started using it I thought the pressure wouldn't be enough, as it wasn't as much pressure as another brand I used. Then, it got to where I thought it would end/deflate and everything tightened up even more and the pressure went up more. Amazing feeling. I used both the control unit and the app. I enjoy using the app more because it syncs with my apple watch to tell me what I did and then recommend a routine to do. With the press of a button on the iphone it just performs the routine, really really sweet. There are alot to choose from and you can tweak them to work well for you. It takes some getting used to but in the end it's pretty simple to use. Some of the routines are "Freshen your Legs" "Activate your Legs" "Pre run warmup". They also offer other attachments for hips and arms. I would love to try those attachments but they are pretty pricey. Back to recovery. After using these consistently (daily) for a week I do feel like my legs feel better and I don't limp getting out of the bed after a rough day at the gym. A plus is that I can go hard in the gym the next day without holding back. That's a game changer. I just had to make time for myself to recover. Along with stretching and diet, this system will be an integral part of my routine moving forward. Highly recommended.

Great recovery for less money than before!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the previous generation Normatec leg sleeves for a couple years now for recovery and they’ve been fantastic. The new Normatex 3s provide the same great recovery benefits (with some upgrades) and best of all, they’re $200 cheaper. The Normatec 3 leg sleeves provide air compression which can aid in preventing lactic acid buildup in your legs after long or intense workouts. These shouldn’t necessarily be thought of as providing a massage, more compression and stimulating blood flow and something that can increase the benefits is elevating your legs when using them. A big upgrade in my opinion with the Normatec 2s vs the previous generation is the control unit where the interface is improved quite a bit (and quite frankly is just prettier than before) where there’s simple but informative indicators for battery status, amount of pressure, duration, as well as a Zone Boost feature which allows you to fine tune where pressure is being applied if you want to target one particular zone. In addition there’s also a selection on the control unit to use it with Normatecs other compression sleeves for hips and arms. The sleeves themselves also are improved where there’s less “dead-spots” with the compression. The previous generation sleeves had a few spots in between each zone where there wasn’t much compression. With the new sleeves, they’ve overlapped the zones to eliminate the dead spots and provide even coverage and this is probably one of my favorite things about these updated sleeves. Where it gets more capable is when you pair it with the Hyperice app where you can use “routines” which are fine-tuned for your particular activities and recovery. The only complaint I have here though is that the bluetooth connectivity from the unit to the app was a little hit and miss where it usually took 2-3 times to connect to the unit. Not sure if that was my phone or the unit but just thought I would mention it. The improvements from the previous generation are all nice to see but again, the nicest thing about these new versions is that they are much cheaper and more accessible. Highly recommended!

Works great
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I am giving a 5-star. These work great for legs. There are a couple things that I will say first though. Both leg pieces seem to be the exact same. There is no left and right. I would have liked to see a left and right so that the air tube would come out the same on both leg pieces to the outside or inside. There is also no bag for them to store them into. I am using the box they came in, but it would have been nice to have a storage bag. You can buy one, but it would have been nice to have one. I also thought you would be able to select zones to turn on. Like just do ankles or knees. But it just lets you pick zones to target which will then add a little more pressure and time to those zones. But, outside of those couple things I enjoy these (so does the wife). They do not feel like a message while using. They feel more like when you get your blood pressure taken. Depending on what setting you set will be more pressure. After using, my legs felt loose. Like I had stretched out. I am normally sore when I go for walking lately or when I play basketball or softball. Still do get a little sore after but, using these has helped me a lot. I am sore after like I said, however the following day I feel great. Were before I would still be sore and sometimes can barely walk. I have been using this, 15 minutes before, and 30 minutes after and will select zones 1-3 for extra. l usually just put on a 45-minute show. Pause after the 15 minutes, and then finish during the 30 minutes. Overall glad to have these and recommend them.

Cheaper and better options exist
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The biggest draw for me was the full leg design which very few offer. Due to the price point i putchased a cheaper version on Amazon and that version actually provided more pressure abd a more comfortable fit

Posted .Hi there! Sorry our product didn't suit your needs. The Normatec 3 is a dynamic air compression massager intended to temporarily relieve minor muscles aches and/or pains and to temporarily increase circulation to the treated areas. This is different from conventional massages you may be used to. Instead of targeting specific knots or tight muscles, the Normatec 3 uses pneumatic compression to increase blood flow and circulation to the treated areas. This boosts recovery and helps your body feel better again quicker. If you feel any pain or discomfort while using the product, it is best to lower the pressure setting, or stop using the device. Feel free to contact us at customersupport@hyperice.com if you have any questions about sizing or using the product.

Nice but expensive
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited to try this to recover faster from running and working out. Lately it seems like my legs hurt for the next few days after a run. I setup everything pretty simply. The legs connect to tubes that connect to the main unit. I downloaded the Hyperice app and created an account. Then it searched for the device and found it. I then proceeded to run a 45min recovery routine. Use: It inflated with some decent pressure on setting 4 out of 7. After 20 min it felt like my left foot was being squished so I took it down to 3 out of 7. That was more comfortable. The machine definetely gave me a light massage feeling and I could feel it moving my circulation in my legs. I then proceeded to use this for a few more days running different routines. Overall it worked pretty good. I just am not sure how much I feel I recovered for the next run. I did feel less soreness but it did not replace a good stretch and massage. Also I felt at times it was too hard on my legs. I wish there were more pressure modes. When I would turn on the pump you had to go to the app after the pump was on. If you did it in reverse order the app would not connect so I would say that is a con. The battery lasted for 5 different routines before it said low power which was nice not to be plugged into the wall. Also I like how the legs fit all the people in the family so they can try it out vs a predetermined size would be limiting. Cons: I am not sure the recovery value is worth the price but it did work. I also thought the bluetooth connection was not very smooth to the app. Finally if your foot is not centered it can feel very tight when at pressure mode 3 or more. Finally if ending a routine I found it a hassle to pull your legs out and get all of the air out of the legs to put away if ending mid routine.

Worth the hype
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, these have been game changers in my routine. Yes, it can be a bit tedious to get everything set up and packed away, but it is worth the inconvenience, by a long shot. Upon opening, you'll get a pair of "boots," the charger, the compression unit, the connection hose and several adapters for voltage conversion. There is a quick start manual, and within minutes, I was up and running. Hyperice claims that the boots are tough and can take a beating when hauling around. I have, thus far, found that to be true, but I would have preferred a travel bag of some sort instead of needing to purchase a separate backpack, but so far, not an issue. My two major uses are for warm-up and recovery. There are many more modes to experiment with, but these are my bread and butter uses. From leg training to sprints to MMA, I immediately notice a difference in the time it takes to get my legs/hips warmed up. They use the term "fresher," and I completely agree. Even when I normally experience fatigue, a quick cycle and I'm feeling like I could put a few more miles on the workout. The recovery cycles are a bit longer than the units I've previously used (45 minutes vs 30 minutes), but given it's a reason to relax and recover, I'm not complaining. And the same sentiments apply here. After the cycle I'm less sluggish in my daily activities and can keep things moving. Using the app, I've experienced no major issues. I had a connection problem here and there, but nothing a Bluetooth reset couldn't fix. For the majority of the time, it connects and works flawlessly. Being the control unit lacks an "advanced" HUD, the app suits nicely for visualization. But speaking of the HUD, it really isn't necessary. Everything you need to set is right on the control unit and simple to access. The app is just a nice cherry on top. In addition to the leg attachment, I also recommend the Hip attachment. Once again, game changer. Combine these tools with my Hypervolt, and I am truly elevating my fitness and recovery. A complaint? One, that is the same with many of the compression systems. I really would like a air escape function. Being that I sue these on the go, once the cycle of choice is complete, there is still enough air in the chambers to make folding/compressing a bit of a struggle. I usually can manually squeeze it out, but a vacuum mode is sorely missed. Not necessarily a negative, just wishful thinking. In summation, these boots are well made, easy to operate and extremely useful. To any athlete or anyone looking to take care of their legs, I definitely recommend.

Great Recovery and Warm Up Tool
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an avid runner and biker at 51, recovery is difficult and my legs can feel heavy and sore after a workout. These Hyperice recovery boots provide a real recovery tool. They are comfortable to wear and will fit snugly once you get the compression settings how you want them. They are quiet and are easy to wear when relaxing after a hard workout. I also use them to warm up before a run when my legs are needing some additional work before heading out. The areas of my legs that have most issues are my calves and hamstrings. These boots have multiple settings to focus on specific areas to provide levels of compression right for the recovery you need. The Zone Boots feature is great when you want to focus on a particular area on a session by session basis. The boots also connect to the Hyperice app on your phone via Bluetooth to provide additional settings and management of your sessions. I have found this very useful when using the boots to manage my recovery. If you are active and find your legs need a bit more of a recovery boost, I would highly recommend these for your recovery plans.

Improved Physical (and Mental) Well-Being
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone who only quite recently learned of and experienced the benefits of compression therapy, I was excited to give these a try. After some time with them, I can definitely say they have been good for me. Just a quick bit about my situation. I am recently back from a knee injury. Prior, and currently, my main exercise has been cardio work. Running inside and out, rowing, and quite a bit of stationary biking. Frankly, it has been a bit of a struggle getting back to my pre-injury state. Being out for an extended period of time and trying to find the “right” mix of activity, work, rest, and recovery has been difficult. Further complicating things, my job requires me to be on my feet, all day, for roughly 55 hours a week. To be blunt about it, through the use of this system/boots, I have reduced stiffness, soreness, and weakness in my legs and am also seeing less pain and stiffness in my recovered knee. Further, I know this is not a metric, but it just makes my legs feel better. Feel good. This has helped me. Period. As for the system itself, everything is built well and has a good “feel.” It is easy to clean (my legs DID sweat), and the entire set is “small enough” and is a nice light weight. The cables and connectors are robust, and I think they will last over time. The “head” or base unit has a nice clean look, with easy to read and understand markings, again, a nice weight, and responsive buttons. All in all, I have no complaints with the hardware. That said, while I do appreciate the system is “small enough” to pack up, as well that it is TSA approved for travel, and that they do offer a Backpack (for $150), I do think for the price, a bag of some sort should be included. It would have been a nice add. Setup is quick. Easy. It is a rather simple process that is not much more than opening the app (which I did find to be a finnicky…at first) charging up, attaching a few cables, and putting the boots on. That is about it. I would say, given the nature of the product, you should take things slow and get a feel for the system for a bit first. Familiarize yourself a little, then see how it can benefit you. As is often the case, no matter how “good” a thing may be, if you do not use it, it is more or less rendered “not good.” I tend to suffer from this problem. A lot. Here, not so much. This is easy to use. The process from start to finish is pretty quick. It is comfortable. It isn’t loud. There is a nice amount of customization (5 various zones, pressure, time, quite a few routines/programs, 1 leg, 2 legs, etc…). Lastly, it just works. They have done a great job of removing obstacles, reasons, or simply excuses not to use them. At least for me. In the end, as I stated from the beginning, I really like this system. It works for me. The day after workouts, and even simply after my long days at work, my legs simply feel better. Frankly, they feel better during and right after use. This is a bit of an investment (but I do think the price is more than competitive in the space), but for the convenience, improved physical (and mental) well-being, and a better overall quality of life, it is worth it to me. I think many would feel the same.

Totally worth it
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really enjoying my Hyperice Normatec 3, the first time I tried them to to get a feel for them was after a long day of sitting at my desk all day at work it was amazing, I charged the battery so it was ready my the end of my day need to charge for 5 hours before use, it’s a quick and easy set up connect the house to the controller then to the boots the controller has different setting for pressure for a light pressure to strong & you can choose what you need/want to massage from feet, calf’s, thighs, it has timer settings 15mins- 60 mins, I started at 35 mins I felt that was enough you can adjust the timer & pressure setting even while I’m use. I felt more comfortable & relaxed while using it laying down rather then sitting up, after sitting all day at work I noticed it helped reduce some minor swelling I had in my ankles, feet. I then decided a couple days later to try both before and after my bike ride I noticed I was definitely less sore. You can also purchase sleeves for your arms and shorts style for your hips, each body part can only be used separately so legs, arms or hips I’m looking into those next. Also you can down load their app to learn more about which setting to use enter some of your activities and it will make recommendations for you, you can also connect it via Bluetooth to your phone & connect your work out apps such as apple health & it will track you activities. I highly recommend for people who need recover help.

Outstanding for recovery for active athletes
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Normatec 3 is surprisingly amazing! I never knew I needed one of these in my own home but it is definitely worth it, especially if you are an athlete or you work out often. I have used former versions of the Normatec at day spas, which I did enjoy. However, I am loving the multitude of the setting options of the 3. The application on my iPhone is easy to use and has many, many pre-set routines which helps me be able to choose the right settings for what I need at the time. I have several lower body aches and pains due to both old and new injuries. I run and lift weights almost daily and the Normatec 3 is life-changing for pre-workout warmup and post-workout recovery. I have been using it every day for a week now and I can say that it definitely has made a huge difference in how my legs feel during workouts and after. I love having one of these at home because it would cost me $30 or more each time I went to a spa to use one. I would absolutely look into purchasing both the hip and arm attachments. I have used those at spas as well and they are definitely worth it!

Excellent Battery Life & Precise Customization's!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Normatec makes a high quality product! From the materials to the mechanics and how well they complete the task at hand, all the way down to their app and all of the precise customization's to really make the boots work best for each individual wearer. They're easy to get into and comfortable to wear on top of that. A lot of people and athletes use these for muscle recovery after working out or running. I am a paraplegic and love using these for compression to help with muscle spasms and circulation as well as swelling. It works especially well as if I'm receiving a deep massage and in turn really assists me with decreasing the spasms I have with my legs and with being in a chair all day my feet and calves tend to swell so putting these on and having the ability of selecting where at on the boot whether it be the upper part.. mid .. or lower, you can turn up or down the compression specifically where it's wanted or needed. The control module allows you to pick attachment selection, Pressure level from 1-7, and Zone Boost from zone 1- 5. Also giving you an led timer as well as a simple start and stop button giving you quick and simple control at your fingertips. If you really want to get specific you can go into their convenient app and really pin point how you want the boots to work for you! I'd highly recommend these to others

Awesome machine, the BEST quality!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited to try this system as I have heard so much about the benefits of this type of therapy for years. Once I received it and took it out of the box, I was extremally impressed with the quality of this product. Its top notch and you can tell from the packaging! Out of the box it was super simple to setup. I plugged it in and let it charge overnight... Once all charge up, I connected the 2 leg sleeves to the hose and voila! Done. It was ready to go! I used it after I got home from my workout and run and I truly enjoyed it! It felt refreshing, and almost massage like... My wife and kids also finally got their chance to try it out, my wife used the "Post workout recovery" 45 minute program after her run and gave it 5 stars! She said she woke up the next day and her legs felt significantly better than they did without using this, and she felt more refreshed. My kids have used the same program after their sports practices and conditioning sessions and love it... they sit in the recliner or in their beds with the legs sleeves on and relax while this works its magic! You can download the app and run this on Bluetooth, or just plug it in and hit the button! I like to use the app as I can customize everything about it... I can work different zones, increase/decrease of pressure, increase/decrease time, run specific programs, etc. I love this, and someone in my house has used it every day for 2 weeks! Battery life has been impressive. We were able to get over 3 sessions (45 min each) on its first charge! Not too bad! Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone who consistently works out or trains, even kids!

Great pre and post exercise unit
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used this for a couple of weeks so far and it is awesome. I run, bike, and do resistance training and this has been a great help for recuperation. I use the lowest setting for warm up before resistance work and runs, then use the low-mid settings for post work out. I had heard good things but I am a skeptic - this did what I needed! I don't feel nearly as much stiffness now after a couple of weeks use and this is a huge benefit for me having had knee issues. The packaging and quality was good and set-up was clear and easy to follow. the cabling and control is a bit cumbersome the first few times until you figure out where you are going to use it and how to lay it out. It is a bit strange to look down and see balloon legs the first time and I was a bit nervous as it pressured up the very first time, but now I am comfortable with it. Uninflated, you can slip on the legs pretty easy, but if you are doing a lot of quad work, you have the option to zip out/in as well. I found the app easy to install. storage is good as well since the packaging is nice looking and roomy enough to pack and unpack and store again. I also tried it in a back pack I have and was able to get it all in there so it should travel well also.

Helps sore muscles
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro: -Help muscle soreness -Battery life -Includes different plug adapters for international outlets Con: -May not fit well if you’re on either end of the size range -Leave marks on your legs -Expensive Does it work? In my experience with it so far, it does help soften muscles and keeps them loose. How it works is that each side has five zones which fill up with air, massaging and increasing blood flow to your legs. This will supposedly help the muscles recover faster. The set includes the two leggings, a pump, hose, and charging cable with different plug adapters for international outlets. This is the standard size, for people between 5’4” to 6’3”, but if you’re on the shorter range, this may not fit well. I’m short and this fits about 6” too high reaching all the way to my pelvis. The excess length bunches up and the squeezing can get uncomfortable. However, I let my friend, who is about the same height, use it and he said he didn’t have any issues. The inside of the leggings has folds and creases which will leave marks on your legs. After each session, my legs look like they're covered in vines. The battery life is good. Full charge can last about 6 sessions, with each session lasting about 25-45 minutes. It takes about 5 hours to recharge. Manually, the pump lets you set the timer, pressure level, and boost the five zones. You’ll need the Hyperice app, which connects with bluetooth, to get the full use of it. The app has presets for different routines, such as Pre/Post Workout Recovery, Long Day Unwind, or Promote Sleep. During each session, you can adjust the pressure or boost each zone. Each routine targets different zones. The Promote Sleep routine, for instance, squeeze your feet more, while Post Recovery goes in sequence from your feet to your thighs. It’s somewhat difficult to say how well this works. I’d imagine those that really work their muscles will see more benefit, but this can help those that are on their feet all day. It’s like a massage to keep the muscle loose and help soreness. Be sure to check the sizes and go for the size you’re in the middle of the range.
