Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the superb sound quality and comfortable design of the Cloud II Wired Gaming Headset. Many appreciate its compatibility with multiple gaming platforms and the detachable microphone. However, some users mention the headset's relatively short cable and lack of inline volume controls as drawbacks. A few also noted that the fit might be snug for some users, and that the bass could be improved.

50 bucks for these and I buy them for a guy who breaks them every time he throws a fit I could buy a pallet of these and he can break them all he wants.

This review is for the PC only, Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. The short story is OMG, the sound is great … the microphone (with some third-party software) is great … the comfort level is great … the build quality is great (see a pattern here)? HyperX, you get five stars from me. I WISH I had found these prior to reviewing Corsair VOID (wireless and wired), Corsair VOID Pro, Corsair Virtuoso and finally the Steelseries Arctis Pro Wired DTS Headpphone X v2.00. CONS The headset has a 3.5mm braided cord … it is too short for my needs … however the braided cord seems robust enough. Since the cable cannot be disconnected from the headset, they become useless if (when) that hard wired connection breaks (this is why you WILL BUY the 2-year Geek Squad warranty). 7.1 sound is approximated but not true … but still the sound is just “WOW” when you press the 7.1 button in the sound card Headset microphone arrived muted … it took me a couple of minutes to notice the mute switch on the side of the USB sound card With the microphone volumes maxed out in Windows 10 Pro and on the sound card on the cord, the bar on the Settings -> Sound options never peaks above about 25% even when yelling into the microphone. But there is a fix: 1. Download EqualizerAPO64-1.2.1.exe (reboot after this step) 2. Download PeaceSetup.exe (this is a skin that gives Equalizer APO a more friendly GUI). 3. On YouTube search for “How to fix HyperX Cloud, Alpha, Revolver & Stinger microphone recording level (ANY headset)” video. Follow the instructions provided in the video and you are off to the races. And just like that, the microphone is no longer on the “Con” list. PROS Kudos to Best Buy for allowing me to purchase and return no less than five headsets during this grueling process. The sound is amazing (given the 7.1 caveat above) but with the APO Equalizer installed you can manipulate the sound profile for both microphone and speakers until your heart is content. Hands down the most comfortable headset I’ve ever used … they also give optional ear pads (memory foam or pleather) so you can choose which experience you like the most. This was a HUGE deal to me as I sometimes wear the headphones for 10+ hours straight. Your mileage may vary depending upon your head shape and size. They are also comfortable wearing glasses and a hat. The “cans” adjust up and down to complete a perfect comfort level … one high-end headphone I tested did not have this feature (which blew me away) So very easy to setup which is a welcome change with regards to all of the headsets I tried out prior to this one (read no huge file to install to program the headset like Corsair and SteelSeries headsets have). For you readers who just have to have a ton of RGB lighting … you’ll just have to look elsewhere. But if you choose to use another headset for this one characteristic … you are an idiot. Noise cancellation is good enough Appearance is spot on. They omit the bells and whistles that other microphones spend so much time implementing and configuring. Microphone is detachable and comes with a rubber plug to fit into the hole to keep dirt out of the headset. This means I can detach the microphone and it looks appealing as a regular set of headphones for when I’m working out at Planet Fitness. It works well with my Apple iPhone 8S … I have a small dongle which converts the Firewire iPhone connection to a female 3.5mm jack. I simply connect the two and I’m off to the races. Microphone is easily adjustable (physically) and stays where I put it. You will have to resort to trial and error to determine optimal placement of the microphone for the optimal pickup of your voice. That's it ... buy them with the 2-year Geek Squad warranty and you will not be disappointed. However, it is important to know that if you pass the 14-day trial period and you did purchase the warranty, you can only exchange the headset three times. As I HIGHLY doubt you'll get three bad units in a row it is important to know this. This applies to all Geek Squad warranties by the way ... three strikes and you are out.

This headset works great only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is how hard it is to change out the ear muffs. They give you a different set of them but then make it near impossible to change it out without ripping them.

Sound quality was superb and worked with almost anything! But it stopped working after about a year despite the fact that it was barely worn, so it’s not exactly worth $90

This is a great quality set of headphones, with lots of features I wanted. HOWEVER... the microphone stopped working after less than a year, and after heavily researching the issue, I'm confident it's a hardware issue, as the microphone doesn't work on other PCs either. These headphones are NOT built to last. I would not recommend these. I'll be switching to Corsair, Logitech, or something else. Not buying HyperX products anymore. Very disappointed.

They're really good honestly. But with the audio mixer it sounds a bit low. But without it I love the bass in it. It sounds like a movie. I'd give it 5 stars if the audio mixer actually worked haha but they're not bad.
