Excellent fit and sound with one small weak point

I love these headphones and am sad to give them even a small downrating. The sound is awesome. I love the fit (I have hypersensitive pinna - outer ears) and can't stand anything touching them. These fit completely over the ear and give me no soreness issues. However, these headphones have developed a weak point: the connection to the audio control box on the cord. Over time, having this part dangling has weakened the audio jack connection. If it isn't seated just perfectly, I can still hear but the microphone doesn't work. I should note that I've had these headphones for a couple of years. Just be aware this can become an issue. One solution may be to make sure that this box doesn't dangle and is supported on the desk so the weakness doesn't develop over time. It's a good possibility I will replace these with another set of HyperX headphones, and this time I will use a cord keeper or some other solution to make sure the box stays on the desk rather than dangling off it.

I'm compelled to write this review because these headset truly deserve it. The sound is crisp, clear and loud unlike any headset I've listened to before. Turn on Dolby and you'll be amazed by the sound quality. Bose, Beats, Sony etc don't even come close in my opinion. If you're looking for a headset, give these a try. If you don't like them, you have 15 days to return them. I'm willing to bet you won't though.

Build quality is very good and the speakers are phenomenal. They are a tad heavy so id say a 4.5 outta 5 stars quality a bit better than most turtle beaches and i love my elite atlas but these are my top 3 favorites the sound is punchy u hear footsteps the earcups are comfy too. Id recommend these for $99 they sound as goid as 200$ astros!

Comfortable, good sound quality, and a fan of this brand. Sorry Razer, but HyperX had you beat in sound systems.

    Great headset with drawl backs

Pros: Sound quality is great. 7.1 helped tremendously in PUBG. The mic does its job. Cons: This headset can shock you pretty good from inside the ear cup. It has gotten my ears a few times real good. To avoid it, either unplug from the USB part for a second or put your fingers on it and shock your fingers lol. Weird problem to have for $140. Then on xbox you only can use the 3.5m jack and cannot change the volume.

I've had the Corsair pro before this, and i liked those, but these Revolver S destroys the corsairs, i mean the sound quality is clearer, the mic sound is better and the design look stands out and very comfortable, only thin g i have a complain about is that you have to take off the the headsets here in there to let your ear breath, but other than that its sounds crisp, very loud, and the build quality is amazing, definitely feels ultra premium!

good at first, but failed over time

I bought these 9 months ago for use with ps4 and have logged hundreds of hours with them since. At first I really liked them and they are comfortable. The sound quality is really good, they are not hot to wear for long periods of time, and no adjusting necessary due to the band design on top. However, the usb control box failed within this time and now will not function. This means they cannot be used with the virtual surround. Now they only operate via plugging in the 3.5mm jack to ps4 controller. With that being said, they function more like a low-end headset now and not a $150 one.

Sound excellent. Mic excellent. Comfort not that great. This headset makes my ears sweat and that made me return them. Keep you your proof of purchase just in case.

Chat volume drowns out game sound

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

There is no way to adjust chat volume down and game volume up, which is necessary for some games like BO4 Black Out mode, and chat volume drowns out the game volume making it very difficult to hear detail in game sounds like positional audio over chat. Also, the surround audio doesn't do a very good job of relaying position like the Sony series of headset do.

    DO NOT BUY FOR PS4!!!!

If you own a PS4 and are interested in this headset, think again!! I bought this headset along with the Cloud Alpha. Heres biggest issue with this headset. In order to use it for the PS4 you have to plug it in to the actual console not your PS controller. so now you have this really long wire plugged into your playstation leading to your head. You can plug the headset into your controller but then have no access to volume/mute/dolby remote. This was a huge design failure for anyone buying this for the PS4. Also compared to the Cloud Alpha theres hardly any difference in sound and they are like $25 cheaper.

The headphones are great. The only thing that I can complain about is when I use it with PS5 it makes some static.

    Bad Mic and Customer Service

    Posted .

I bought this headset for the PS4 and initially I loved it. The audio quality was great but when I played with my friends they said my mic was really quiet. So I turned my mic sensitivity ALL the way up and still could't hear me well. I tried everything. I emailed customer service and was emailing me back regularly but once they understood exactly what was going on the emails stopped. I also researched my problem and other people were having the problem and the same thing happened. When they understood the problem they cut the line of communication. If the headset works properly then the headset it really nice but if you have a problem customer service will ditch you if they don't have a solution.
