I am using this for a ps4 and just plug it in the controller instead of using the usb to the console. It sounds great both the audio and the mic. Overall, it’s a bit heavy which isn’t a bad thing just be aware! It can get hot over the ears if you game all day but nothing worse than any other over the ear sets. It’s rather large but I have a big head so that fits perfectly! Great improvement over my last headset (rig800) and am happy with the purchase.

Hyper X: Best company in peripherals

Just bought this headset today. It is the best gaming headset I've ever owned. The sound quality is A+. This is comparable to some studio headphones I've used, no joke.
They are very lightweight, my only complaint for comfort/fit as that they are almost too lose, if I look down, they almost fall of my head. (Same issue I had with the Cloud 1 headset a year ago)
The features are also great. Being able to toggle the 7.1 Surround AND change presets of EQ is awesome. Then of course adjusting Mic/Speaker volume right on the Control Box.
I also own the Hyper X Alloy FPS Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, which is a VERY loud keyboard. ( Best keyboard I've ever had) The microphone on the Razer Manowar picked up EVERY. SINGLE. KEYSTROKE, now with this new noise cancelling mic, it doesn't pick up nearly as much background noise.
Overall I'm very excited and happy with my purchase.
Honestly if you're looking for a solid company to jump into gaming with or switch to Hyper X is the way to go.
Minus hardware in my PC, EVERYTHING I own as far as accessories is Hyper X.
Buy it.

Company doesn't stand behind their product

The other day I noticed that the jack was bent. I'm not sure how this happened, but it these headphones have always been taken care of and they have not been abused in any way. I reach out to their support and they tell me that this is "abnormal wear" and not covered by their warranty. Sadly, I just bought a pair of Cloud Alphas less than a week ago. I don't support companies that won't support their products. I'll be avoiding HyperX going forward.

I'm happy with this headset.
I have a couple of minor criticisms, not important enough to knock off a star:
The headphone's cable has a single 3 1/2 mm connector that can plug directly to a phone. There is no volume control, or any other control, on this cable.
The user can plug this into a small block that has a button to turn on the surround sound feature and the typical headphone speaker volume control and mic silence button. The cable from this block has a USB connector to the computer.
A minor annoyance with this is that the block also contains a dial for the mic volume next to the speaker volume dial. I have a habit of adjusting the mic volume by accident. I can't tell when this happens until people I'm gaming with complain that they can't hear me.
The headset's cable can also plug into a cable that simply splits the single 3 1/2 mm connector into conventional speaker and mic connectors.
The problem is that this connector has no control for speaker volume or mic mute.
It's really a nice headset.

Been using headsets for 10 years, and I’ve become pretty picky with headsets. High end, low end, doesn’t matter, This is the real deal. Super comfortable! Haven’t used the microphone on it, but past cloud headset microphones have been great for gaming, mediocre for casting. Definitely recommend!

I have owned these for about 1.5 years and I gotta say I love them. I have never sweat, never had pain, and never regretted this purchase once. To make matters better, I got in on sale for $120, was a definite steal! I have a really big head and tried many headsets, I'm looking at you Arctis 7, and they just didn't fit me, but this one fits so comfortably. I've had many days of many hours of gameplay, and I play with comfort. The microphone is very clear. The controller for mic volume and sound volume function as it should. The controller has a mute button and a Dolby button, which when pressed turns on surround sound. The surround sound is good for the price, but not the best. I'd say this a really good headset and you will not regret buying this.

I had every headset aside from Astro and Razer headsets and I game only on Xbox one using Dolby Atmos app so...
Pros.
This headset connected to Xbox controller had big spacial sound.
Great positional audio
Immersive
Not totally noise isolating but sound perfect and will not get distracted by outside noises during action or anything else really hard to explain but this is a plus for me! I like to be aware of my surroundings outside the headset having little ones.
Best mic
Perfect mic monitoring using Xbox monitoring in audio settings
Amazing listening to music.
Good base
Built like a tank durrable!
Very comfortable (but...)
Cons.
Not having a detachable 3.5mm jack or online controls for muting and volume (playing on Xbox)
The cups do kind of pinch a little after long periods of gaming but not alot. Usually around the jaw (the head band floats kinda got to fidget with it but if you put it on right it's usually stays on and it won't fall off but if your planning on taking it off and on alot it would get annoying!
Some games you might hear more than you want but this is not necessarily a con for alot of you
Over all this is high end with out all the gimics no mix amp needed these are the real deal! For Xbox one players looking for a easy headset they can use with out a mix amp I would recommend over the hyper x alpha. I'd probably say between this and the hyper x cloud mix is the best headsets out right now
A:1) Yes.
2) The cord comes in two pieces and yes, one of the connectors is an audio jack. The headphones end in an audio jack that plugs into a control box where you can control the volume and surround sound, and the control box's cord then ends in a USB connection.
A:The one i received was brand new. Packaging was all sealed and shipped really quick. Usually the refurbished ones are discounted and have to clearly label they are refurbished. Great headset though. Dont hesitate to purchase.
A:The surround sound does not work (feature was not built for Xbox) and the mix amp (controls game/party volume) is not compatible with Xbox which is not articulated in the description. I ultimately returned mine just yesterday due to this. The headset itself works for sound and the mic is good for xbox but if you want the most for your money (which this headset is expensive so you should), I would not recommend for xbox.
