I currently own a Surface Pro 6 which does not have this connection so I needed an adapter.

I was very disappointed with the results. I had trouble getting the connection to work in oculus. It kept telling me the PC wasn't connected. Usually restarting the software fixed it. Then once I did manage to get connected, the image quality is simply awful. Tons of streaming artifacts. It looks like you're looking at youtube video from 2006 on a 4k TV. It looks way worse than Virtual Desktop streaming via my router and that has the benefit of being wireless. I'm not sure if the official link cable would perform better, but wireless is kind of the whole point of the Quest 2, and Virtual Desktop is so good now that for most games I would recommend that.
