I tried to use them at that distance and the resistance was so great it would yank the headset off my noggin, 2nd the cord caused a loud background hum or static noise. Probably from a loose connection or short

Waste of money (and plastic)

The tip remained in the headphone slot of my I-Pad and was removed by a Best Buy service technician. The I-Pad does not have an audio function at all ever since!
