I have a dell laptop. There is no certain ethernet cable you have to get. I needed an ethernet cable and I bought this one. Works with computers also

The rubber shielding is sturdy and they snap into place easily. Other cables do the same job but are more expensive. These are great for the price.

When you connect from your cable modem to the TV with CAT 6 you get the best possible result and the your picture will be more representative of the 4K that you paid for!! I opened the package and plugged it in, and that was it. It loosened from the curled up packaging well too, it's not stuck like a stiff curlie cue.
