    The Cat-6 allows speeds to reach well over 100mbps so this cable is intended for those who want to reach those type of speeds. However, your router, modem, and provider must be rated to allow speeds that high or else you are better off with a Cat 5. However, the price point now is so negligible its probably best to get the Cat-6 so you are upgrade ready.

    Needed this for the one that frayed. Works good. The rep in Best Buy was very helpful even though he was busy with other things. The one on sale was not available, but I bought the next one up.
