Ended up installing an out door antenna to get a good signal. If you really want great signal their is no replacement for a real outdoor antenna the signal from this Insignia™ - Amplified Thin Film Indoor HDTV Antenna will get you by but dont expect alot from it.

I am working on my house and have the tv in the basement, so it would work better above ground. When I get the living room back together I plan on getting an outdoor antenna and using the existing Direct tv mount on roof and cables and a booster. but for now it is not bad and no monthly bill !

This model picked up more stations than others and seems to consistently work well after finding it a good location. The in line amplifier needs to be turned on or there will be dropouts of channels. I have since purchased another one for tv in another room. I would recommend purchasing this if you are looking for a low profile indoor antenna. You just need to find a good placement spot.
