Being "powered" helps. Pulling in 16 high quality channels - 10 more than the other antennas I tried.

I don't know what the amplifier does because it did us no favors othet than take up another plug. Maybe its the area we are in, but I see very little difference in performance than this vs. the other models.

The little mount on the bottom was surprisingly sturdy because it was made out of metal. It got most of the channels which I was happy with.

There is a parking structure across the street but mainly open air outside my window. Upon setting up, I noticed that I had trouble getting good reception. I would rate my reception at D+ at best. Again, it maybe due to the area I am in, but without knowing I would not recommend to a friend.

I placed on wall and can be a eye sore if you want a clean look on mounted TV, but you can also stand up. I placed behind TV to avoid it being visible

I stuck the antenna onto a window using the supplied double-sided stickers, and plugged the cable into the Recast DVR. Now I can record any over-the-air programs. But placement of the antenna is critical. Basically, I just tried it to find out if it would work in my area, and it did.

The pictures came in clear but for some reason, I had to move it to get channel 13. But then I lost all the other channels. I decided to by a cheap one on Amazon and it picks up all my channels perfectly without having to move it!
