    I didn't have bluetooth capability on my pc and bluetooth was necessary for my Fitbit. There were no specific Fitbit bluetooth adapters in the store and the representative suggested that I try a non-proprietary adapter. It worked like a charm. Generic parts do not always work and I am sure glad that this one did as it saved me at least 50%.
