My headphones are working again!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Insignia noise cancelling headphones lost the Bluetooth connection a couple of days ago. The Bluetooth button in my Dell laptop's Action Center disappeared, and the Bluetooth icons in Device Manager were grayed out as well. It's happened before, and after trying various fixes with no results, I plugged this adapter in and everything is working perfectly again!

Great Bluetooth Adapter
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works perfect between my Windows 10 and 11 gaming PC's. This adapter instantly received and paired with the Windows Bluetooth Stack Configuration. My Bose Freestyle Sport Wireless Blue Tooth Earphones sound awesome with the Insignia BT adapter! Very pleased.

Bit of a hassle but functional
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely doesn't just connect automatically. No drivers on the insignia website either like all the other reviews said. I do have windows 10 and it didn't find any drivers through the windows update utility either. I used the tips in the review from Nerdygirl and that did work in the end. So far the bluetooth connection seems to be working. Not the easiest to get going right out of the box, but the price is worth the minor hassle.

Okay, I guess....?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm assuming it works fine, I purchased it for a friend who was wanting an easy way to transfer pictures from her cell phone to her desktop computer. She's had it several weeks and not called me with any issues yet, sooo......

Great for the price! If you know what your doing.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The dongle it self is not a bad product, however it was not a plug and play deal. I had to go to a 3rd party website to download the drivers, and install them. If you know how to do what I just described, it is an great product for how cheap it is, but if your planing to buy this and aren’t very computer savvy, I recommend looking elsewhere.

Difficult to install on Windows 7 64bit HomePrem.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to let me use wireless headphones with my old laptop with no bluetooth. The Insignia adapter was cheap and I could get it right away at my local store. My laptop runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, and the installation instructions provided with the adapter did not work for me. I downloaded the file from Broadcom whose link was provided in the documentation, but the adapter was not installed after running setup and re-booting the machine. The file is an SDK - Software Development Kit which is a little weird when all I want is a driver. Windows never found a driver for the adapter and I could not locate one in the files installed on my hard disk after running set up. weird. I worked at this for a couple hours, and actually bought an ASUS adapter online to replace this one. This is when I realized that the chipset used in the ASUS and the Insignia adapters is the same - BCM20702A0 from Broadcom. I figured I'd try installing the drivers from ASUS. These were easy to find on the ASUS website. I installed the ASUS files and now the Insignia adapter works. Cool. I'll probably return the Insignia adapter once the ASUS device arrives just to reward ASUS for a job well done. I've only used the headset with the adapter for a short time, but I've noticed that if I turn the headset off and back on the sound quality is horrible (like listening to music underwater) until I reconnect the headset to the computer. Maybe this is normal? Could be the adapter or the headset, but I'm leaning towards blaming the adapter/drivers I installed. Don't know right now, though. My headset is a Skull Candy Uproar which I kind of love right now. :-)

Works - with a little driver tweaking
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works, you just have to ensure the drivers are right. Being on Windows 11, it didn't work out of the box. As explained by the other customers, you have to more or less select the driver yourself. It gets annoying but it works as it should, just more setup than I expected.

Functional, but flawed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It does what it says on the box. What the box does not say is that the built-in status light is a) VERY bright, and b) blinks at a rate that, at least for me, borders on infuriating. I also experienced poor range: not even 10'/3m with clear line of sight.

Finding the drivers sucks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1: Go to Device Manager 2: Plug in USB Bluetooth Device 3: Check Device Manager and look for your bluetooth device, which should come up as BCM20XXXXX 4: Right Click on the BCM20702A0 in device manager and click on "update driver software" 5: Select Browse my computer for updates, 6: Select "Let me pick from a list of Device Drivers" 7: Select "Broadcom" on the left list of manufactures. 8. select "BCM2033 Single".. Driver on the right. 9: Click Install ((Thanks goes to mgriffizl on the insignia products forum)) Sadly this adapter does not allow me to use the Xbox one controller with my windows 7 pc. Will have to wait and see what it will do with the controller and a Windows 10 box.

Works great with Xbox one controller, Windows 10
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I couldn't find anything about this working with game controllers. As long as the controller works with Bluetooth it would make sense that it would work. I'm here to save everyone trouble and say yes it works just fine, I cant notice any latency issues or any connection problems. Only thing was I did need download the newest driver myself, windows could not find it on its own. I used Driver Booster and it set it up in no time.

Works as expected - easy setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The USB bluetooth adapter works exactly as expected. No drivers beyond those that Windows supplies were needed. My PC was able to immediately find my headset and connect. Truly a plug and play experience.

6/10 Solid adapter for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It worked well for a few months then stopped, I don't know if it was due to a short that fried it but I loved it while it was working

Difficult install
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.AFTER purchasing this device, I learned that installing this to Windows 7 machines has generated a HUGE number of complaints, SO....1 star for ease (or more accurately "lack of") of installation....took hours, and only after much trial and error was I able to find a driver set that worked. For other Win7 users, a functional driver set is available from plugable.com: vs 6.5.1.6930 (USB-BT4LE_win7_vista_x64.exe). Having said that, once that problem was solved, the device itself seems to work in acceptable fashion.

Lied about Windows 7 support & no official driver
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my work PC, as it used Windows 7. I purchased this device as it said it supported Windows 7. It definitely does not. I wish I read the online reviews about this device, as everywhere they are shouting about issues with it working on Windows 7. Currently I can install it, and I can pair a bluetooth device to my PC, but none of the functions of any bluetooth device even work. I just get a image of my device and have 4 options. Create Shortcut, Troubleshoot, Remove Device, and Properties. All the info listed in there are generic at best. I called Insignias horrible support and spoke with someone for over an hour, and they kept saying that they do not keep the drivers. They make the drivers, submit it to Microsoft, and use their plug and play function in windows. Everything they are describing makes it sound like it may have once worked, but they overwrote the drivers for that model. I asked for a copy of the official driver, and they triple confirmed for me that they do not even keep them. Seriously? You guys make a device, make drivers for them, then delete the drivers so you have no chance to support ANYONE that has an issue? That's just blatant bad business. To top it off, they insult me saying that it's not a device issue, but a windows issue, even after explaining it was a brand new work computer that I just freshly reinstalled Windows 7 on that day. They are avoiding all responsibility for their poor drivers. Avoid this model, avoid all Insignia, they don't know how to support their own products.

It has its ups and downs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is really easy to install on your computer and connect your Bluetooth earbuds or headphones. The problem or a big problem is the range just two feet and the sound cuts or jumps or just disconnects. It is really disappointing how I can use the same Bluetooth device and connect them to my apple watch or my iPhone and I can still hear them with great sound quality just only about 35 feet away. So just stay away from this Bluetooth adapter no matter how cheap it is.

Works, Limited range. Using with Xbox Controller S
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using this thing off and on for about a year now. Its good for streaming music off your phone to your PC and in turn PC's speakers. Works well transfering files to and from mobile devices. Works like you'd expect a universal Bluetooth receiver to work. I recently have been using it with the Xbox controller S, which is officially the only Microsoft brand Xbox controller with built in Bluetooth support. The dongle itself works just fine with Windows 10. Windows will even automatically update the driver for you after plugging it in and hitting the update button. The range on it is very limited so be aware of that. I plugged it into the back side of my computer about 6 feet away from me and because I didn't have good line of sight it was hit and miss with keeping a stable connection. Luckily I have a USB pass-through on my keyboard which is right in front of me and putting it in there keeps the connection stable. If you plan to use this product make sure you have good line of sight to the dongle. Buying a USB extension cord would help this problem if your computer didn't have front side USB 2.0/3.0 ports. My only other issue with this product is that it's way too expensive. If you can find another 4.0 Bluetooth adapter somewhere else at a cheaper price do that instead.

Works, but drivers need manual install
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works. Like all the other comments, the driver might not install automatically and it will say the device malfunctioned. You'll have to download the latest driver here: https://www.driverscape.com/download/bcm20702a0 Unzip it to a folder. Go to the device in Devices and Printers -> Properties -> Change Settings -> Drivers -> Update Driver -> Choose the folder you unzipped. Should work after this. Removing two stars for not having this information on their website.
