This product is supposed to be plug and play but when I plugged it into my PC it didnt install any drivers. So I had to go search online to the manufacturers website to see if I can manually download drivers from the website. And guess what, they don't have any drivers on the website for this product. So I call Insignia's customer support and after about 30 minutes of talking there was no solution, so I told them Im just going to return this product. Waste of my time, now im buying a different USB Bluetooth adapter on amazon. With this recent experience, I will never buy an Insignia product ever again.

I picked this up this afternoon and will be returning it tomorrow because I can't make it work. I've wasted an entire afternoon on it. The goal here was merely to plug the darn thing in and for my wife to be able to listen to her new Sony MDR-XB950BT headphones without the cord while tinkering with her laptop. Her laptop runs a 64 bit Windows 10 Operating System and initially I tried connecting these headphones using a very old and outdated inexpensive adapter and it connected right away, but it's terrible so far as reception. I was hoping for an upgrade but sadly I discovered several forums that feature a large number of users who are having the same problems. A major disappointment here.

Quick and easy. Needed a way to connect a Bluetooth game controller to a PC that wasn't Bluetooth enabled. This did the trick!

This worked for a total of 10 seconds. In fact I am not entirely sure this was even new. there is no sticker on it and it is held in by nothing. dongle was on the bottom of the envelope. I connected my headphones, then I got an error and it said something changed. which is did not. then I was met with service can not start. I've uninstalled the driver and reinstalled, I have restarted the computer, I have even checked the file system to ensure no errors are present and they are not. do not buy this, it is junk.

I bought this adapter to use on a Win 7 desktop. My only complaint is that the Smart Bluetooth doesn't work on Win 7. I bought a Logitech MX Master to use with it and I still have to use the Unifying Receiver.

Not great. Overpriced, spotty connection easily lost from 2 feet away. I should have known when there were more returned items for sale than new ones. I got a new one.

This device does not come with any installation software. The instructions direct you to broadcom's website to download the bluetooth drivers. Broadcom no longer supports Windows 7! This device is useless on any computer running Windows 7. Do NOT BUY unless you are running another version of windows! This device is NOT compatible with Windows 7 as advertised. Insignia customer support is useless and they do not have another product that is compatible with Windows 7. So a useless trip to the store to pick this up and generally a waste of my time trying to install and troubleshoot when that information should have been advertised on the website and really should have been put out to distributors as well.

I had exactly the same frustrating issue as CleverNickName did yesterday... Ditto that review, and a big shout out to Bob from Scranton, who posted a comment to that review with the actual URL required to download the driver to get this thing to work. It's ridiculous that an Insignia buyer should have to go to a competitor's website to download the correct driver! Now that I did, the adapter works well.

The short version is that I bought this exact item from Best Buy a few months ago. Brand New in an unopened box. There is no CD or software. The Best Buy product description is wrong (says works with Windows 7) but if you read the PDF instructions, it clearly says it does not work with Windows 7. After spending a couple of hours trying to get the product to work, I took it back for a refund.

Called tech support, who advised to return it. I was able to go to Windows 10, and it worked.

I bought this bluetooth adapter to use with my Apple trackpad and wireless keyboard on an old windows 10 i5 laptop. Using the latest apple drivers, I was able to get both up and running. Unfortunately, the trackpad performance was substandard and my old usb mouse worked much better. I ended up returning the adapter.

This product is not compatible with HP computers running Windows 7. I spent way too long looking for a driver workaround, with no success. At first I thought it was a Sony headset issue. The customer service rep at Insignia confirmed the product is not supported on HP with Windows 7. BEWARE!

This is not a review of the actual product but the information on the Best Buy website. The site states that the compatibility is Universal but the included documentation states Windows PCs only! And also only some versions of Windows (8/8.1/10).

Definitely not plug and play. Could not find driver to make the thing work, and I will be returning it. If you need Bluetooth and you just see an adapter in store and just want to grab it, don't. If you don't have access, go for the Asus one instead.

Bought this to use a USB mouse with my desktop, it worked fine for the first week and I was happy, then it started dropping out every 5-10 minutes and would require the dongle to be pulled out and plugged back in to work. I tested on 2 completely diffrent PCs and had the same issue. I plan to return it tomorrow and would not recommend.

The broadcom chip inside this adapter is not plug-and-play, and displays errors when plugged in. I was only able to get it to work using sketchy drivers I downloaded from the internet, for an HP oem laptop. This is frankly inexcusable, and they need to stop selling these.

Was recommended this by an associate today for my Windows 10 PC. However, this will NOT work with Windows 10. Called Insignia and they verified it wont work and that there are widespread problems. If you do a quick internet search, you will see the same thing.

I was surprised that my laptop was not bluetooth capatable.. It does what it needs to do.

Can't get it to work on my Brothers computer yet it works at times on my PC with WIndows 10, you might as well not buy this at all. If you do get it use this driver so it works on windows 7, worked for me https://www.asus.com/us/Networking/USBBT400/HelpDesk_Download/
