Range very low, slow to process

We got home, installed it and while checking it out, the range was no more than 4 feet (even if it should be closer to 30 ft) and when we sent to print, it took forever. Just to do my due diligence, I connected the printer with an unsightly USB cable. Sent to print, and immediately started printing. Our idea of printing without wires got crushed by a tiny USB adaptor, and we continued to use the ugly cable.
