Posted .Thank you very much for reviewing this converter box, in fact the converter box does not work for adding channels, this only converts analog signals into digital but the signal receiving and strength will be provided by the antenna you are using, however I am glad that you were able to take advantage of Best Buy 15 day return period to have this returned since it was not what you were needing. "Expert" said I needed this converter box unit to make it work. I even confirmed tv specs with them before making purchase. When delivered, antenna hooked up just fine without the converter.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The first one I bought (when over the air channels changed) was also by Insignia and it worked well, so when it stopped working I went back to Best Buy and bought the only model they had in the store. It was also Insignia so I bought it having had a decent experience with the first. The first problem is that you cannot connect component cables so the picture is junk. The signal is terrible even though I'm using the same antennae that used to perform pretty well. The other big problem is the options on the remote. To see what the other stations are pulling in you have to go into the menu which then mutes the sound. There is no "last" button nor a "favorite" button. How would the first box available be the more evolved of the two?
