Sometimes its not very responsive and takes few tries to get it to detect on my TV. I guess if I had to do it over again I would have gone with the official dock.

After the 8.0.0 update, I placed our Switch in this dock and the Switch ceased to function. Went through all the troubleshooting measures and determined that Insignia’s dock bricked my family’s Switch.

Insignia: Two for Two with Product Failures for Me

Owned for 7 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite having a bad experience with my first Insignia product (you can find the review) I decided to give them the benefit of doubt and purchase their dock after ours crapped out on us. Much to my disappointment, and what is seemingly par for the course with Insignia, the dock didn't work. We tried different HDMI cables, different inputs, different television, different everything. We did a hard reset of the Switch in case something happened to it that required a fresh install–no luck. This thing was DOA so it was returned ASAP. I ended up purchasing a third-party dock from an online retailer with a jungle-related name and it worked the first time we docked the Switch into it.

Has one-year manufacturer's warranty but neither Best Buy or Insignia will replace it. Best Buys says it's Insignia's responsibility and Insignia says only Best Buy can replace it in store. Took it to the store and was told it was outside of the warranty even though Insignia says it has a full one-year warranty. Waste of money and don't purchase Insignia products as neither Best Buy or Insignia will honor the warranty on them.

I thought it would be a good replacement to the original dock but this gave out, as well. Passed the timeframe allowed for returns so no way to exchange and see if I received a defective unit.

Thankfully it has since gone away, but be careful, I think the slot might be to tight and presses on the metal housing.

After the recent update Nintendo released mine would no longer charge the switch. Thankfully unlike some folks my switch wasn’t bricked as a result but now I have a paperweight.

It all of a sudden could not be detected as connected by our TV - through multiple HMDI ports, being less than a year old. Had to buy another one, and only did due to it being discounted.

If your switch has the nyko thin shell case on it like mine does 100% of the time. Your switch will not fit in it. You will need to take it off everytime you want to dock it.

Nice attempt, meh product

I purchased this one based on all of the great reviews. The dock worked great for a little while, but within a short time, it began having issues staying connected. A re-seat worked a few times, but after that, it was all downhill and I couldn't keep it displaying on the TV. I returned it to the store and got a refund. I see mixed reviews of people having this or similar issues, so I'd say it's hit or miss on quality.
