This will ruin your switch. Not worth the risk using.

We bought this for traveling but it wouldn’t work very well

This thing worked for a week. Now it’s just a paperweight.

Shocked myself on this and it stopped working within a week.

Have been wanting to get a second dock for another room in the house but I did not want to pay the full price for the official Nintendo Dock. This dock does everything the original does for half the price. Sure it is a little different from the original but it is really easy to get used to. If you need a second dock then this is the one for you.

Bought this dock for an extra TV in my house - it was less than half the price of the Nintendo dock and I can tell you that it does everything my original dock does. It's sweet - and at $40 retail it's a complete no brain purchase for anyone with a Switch. I plan to take this to my parents house for Christmas because it's so portable. GREAT product. Pros: More compact than the original dock; Less than half the price of a second original Nintendo dock. Cons: Tight fit; especially if you have a glass screen protector. I have to be very careful about the way I insert the Switch or else air will get underneath the glass screen. For those with a thick screen protector I don't recommend this. I'll continue to use this as a travel dock but will most likely purchase the original dock for my second TV. I've been careful about the way I insert the Switch into the dock so I don't disturb the glass protector, but I think with repeated use it would eventually create air bubbles and damage the glass protector.

This is the design Nintendo SHOULD have come up with for the Switch! It is much more user friendly and portable. I much prefer the power and HDMI simply plugging into the side of the base rather than the clunk panel on the OEM. Also the stand is adequately heavy to prevent it from sliding around after cables are plugged into it. This also comes with an additional power cord, which is almost worth the price alone! I now use my OEM cable to charge my Pro Controller. I really like the missing front wall - no worry of scratches on your Switch. CONS: seems more difficult to get Switch to plug in (minor) Need to test but colors seem not quite as vibrant as official dock. (medium) Switch seemed to get hotter after a few hours of play and TV video starts to judder. (not sure if this would have also happened with the Nintendo dock) Overall I still highly prefer this over the official Nintendo dock...and half the price!

comes with everything the official dock has. the nintendo version is larger but lighter, making it more likely to tip over. the insignia dock is superior in every way and at less than half the price. nintendo charges $30 for the AC charger alone, so this is a steal!

We needed another dock to be able to use our switch in the living room without having to move the dock with it as well. I ran across this when I was going to purchase the stock Nintendo dock. I like this more since it has a low profile lip on the front so you can see where you are putting it and not have to worry about scratching it! It works just the same as the Nintendo version with no drawbacks!

This dock is actually better than the original dock for the fact that not only can you see your actual screen, but you can use it to dock your switch AND play it at the same time, so it can act like a stand and charger, so long as you remove the HDMI cable. The only possible negative is that it only has one USB port, but that's not an actual negative, since you can just use a hub, which I'd prefer to do anyway. It's also a lot more portable than the official dock. I'd much more recommend this one than the official dock.

Let me start with the 2 cons I have for it first. First, the green light stays on even when the console is in sleep mode. The console can be on and you might not even realize it until you change your TV input to the Switch. Second, if you have a tempered glass screen protector there's a good chance it'll leave scuff marks on the back. It's kinda ridiculous how not that many reviews mention this. Either a) most people buying this don't have tempered glass screen protectors (and you should) or b) majority has not even noticed the scuff marks on the back of their Switch. I've used it with Nyko and amfilm screen protectors and both leave smudges/scuff marks on the back. Other than these 2 cons, it's a great option for those who want an additional dock around the house. It even comes with a power adapter, which is a main reason this is worth checking out. I wouldn't recommend replacing the original Nintendo dock with this one though.

So i was looking for a way to play my switch in my living room instead of always bedroom. Saw this item and the reviews look good so i picked it up. Like some other reviewers said, its a tight fit for hte switch, i had a diffucult time putting it inside, i was concerned about breaking my switch, u do have to kind of line it up right and give it a bit of a push down. after getting it hooked up tho, played great, so as a alternitive to the expensive nintendo one, this one will deff do, but they should make it a bit wider to fit the switch easier to slide in and out

I picked up an open box Insignia Dock kit for a few dollars off of the regular price to set up on the TV in my basement. I ended up paying about a third of the price that I would have paid for a 1st party Nintendo Switch dock. It takes a teeny bit more effort to dock the switch into the insignia mount since it is not spring loaded, but all I wanted was a cheap, functional secondary dock for my switch. I'm 100% satisfied with the Insignia NS dock.

I bought this dock so that I could dock on another tv without having to move around my Nintendo dock. This one works perfectly. It feels a lot more sturdy than the Nintendo dock. It doesn't cover the screen, however I prefer the slimmer design. Love that it comes with a charging cable and an hdmi cable. Highly recommended.

First of all, in case of the Insignia dock, I couldn’t find any reports of a Switch getting bricked. Please leave me a comment with a link to an Insignia related death if you have found one. I’ve been running 5.x firmware with this dock, and had the dock for 6 months so far. The fan ramps up the same as the OEM dock in every high graphics title I own— including Odyssey and BOTW. It does seem like there would be a little more air restriction in the Insignia dock than the original, but I can’t see or hear any difference between the two. My only complaint is it’s not as smooth or easy when sliding the switch into the Insignia dock, but it looks better and I like the extra weight they added. This dock feels much more stable and planted, and it’s half the price of the stock dock. No stars lost for that. Felt like I had to write this because of all the fearmongering going on with this dock. Please correct me if you find any information that says otherwise. I’ll even consider stopping using mine if it is a hazard.

This dock is a great value. Works just as well as the original one at a much lower price. The only thing keeping me from leaving a 5 star rating is the bright green status light that is always on when the Switch is docked. I wish it worked like the Nintendo one and only lit up when the Switch was awake and active. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with this.
