It works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No major problems with this dock. It's stable enough and it works. My only issue with it is that the usb c connector on there isn't spring loaded like the nintendo dock so it takes a little more force to connect and remove the console.

Works great...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Big improvement over the stock Nintendo dock. The key is the removal of the unnecessary plastic logo’d Wall. No more scratching, and the stock item was so tight it cracked a Zagg Screen protector.

Dock will not brick your console but has issues.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dock is nice in the fact it is shorter than OEM and the connections are on the back which is nice. They also include a power supply and HDMI cable. WARNING the power supply is not interchangeable with the OEM dock. There are two flaws with this dock the first is only if you use a tempered glass screen protector it will be a snug fit and will leave scratches on the back of the switch console. Second flaw is that it will randomly cut out and freeze entirely for seconds then return to normal which is a deal killer for me.

Wouldn't work with my LG OLED
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This dock would not work with my LG OLED. It works on other TV's I have, but for some odd reason, it doesnt work on any of the inputs on my OLED TV. The original switch dock does work with my OLED. And this dock does indeed work on every other TV that is not an LG OLED in my house.

Still Works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used this dock off and on for several months. It works. I am have been concerned about it bricking my switch but so far so good. To be honest my family doesn't use it often. it is at vacation house and we only use the dock when we travel to that location.

Great Alternative!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great alternative to the Nintendo dock. You do have to pull/push a little to take it out and to plug it in, but it works! One issue I keep having occasionally is when plugging it in, it will say "Console battery not charging" and it will not display anything on the TV. I fix this by unplugging and plugging the USB C cable to the dock.

Keeps Disconnecting From TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this as a cheap, second dock. Took some time to get the Switch to go to TV mode the first time I used it. If I restart or undock the unit, I have to repeat the effort. I have to go through a game of restarts and undocks before it will change over to TV mode. I don't have any problems with the Nintendo base so something in the Insignia unit doesn't properly trigger the Switch to go into TV mode. Also does not have a powerful enough power adapter to run and charge the Switch during use so maybe the weak PS is part of the problem. Regret making the purchase to save a few bucks because it's more hassle than it's worth. I now just move the Nintendo base between TVs. Guess you really do get what you pay for.

Stopped working
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It just stopped working out of the blue for no reason. The power supply still charges my switch directly but when I dock the switch no green light appears nor will it display anything to my tv. I used this thing maybe like 10 times total in the year-ish i had it. I just use this one when my official dock is elsewhere. I hate nintendo makes it so hard to buy official ones and you're stuck buying these horrible 3rd party docks.

The smaller footprint is my only positive
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There's a reason why this dock is being sold so cheaply. Pros: The base unit is built well. It is weighted so there is no worry about the switch tipping over, and the guides make sliding the switch in and out very easy. The only difficult part is the port is a bit tight, so you do have to push/pull harder to get the Switch in/out. This is actually preferred given the base unit design, since it helps hold the Switch into place more securely. Cons: If you do buy this dock do NOT use the provided power supply. It is woefully under powered for the Switch. My first indication that something was wrong was when I tested this out playing Mario Odyssey. Within a few minutes the Switch's cooling fan was running at full speed. This never happens with the power supply from Nintendo. I dropped the unit in the old dock, no problem and the cooling fan never turned on. Back into this dock, the fan spun to full speed in a few minutes. Swapped the power supply from the original dock to this one, the fan speed came back down to normal levels. Given the price I would live with throwing the power supply out, but the picture is terrible using this dock. Reds are WAY over saturated and washes out quite a bit of the detail in the games. I tested with the provided HDMI cable and one of my own trusted cables. Same result with both. The whole purpose of buying this is to enjoy gaming on a big screen, but if the picture looks terrible why bother?

Broke after 4 months, Insigna won't offer support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Feb 27th 2020, it was out of stock online. I went into the local best buy and bought one with a credit card. It worked great for a few months, but then all of a sudden it stopped showing video on the connected TV. Did basic troubleshooting like trying a different TV and HDMI cable, but the original switch dock worked every time and this one won't transmit video. Contacted Insignia and they won't honor any warranty without the original receipt, even if I have the Best Buy store, transaction number, and date from my credit card statement. Oh well, $50 piece of trash going in the garbage now.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This dock worked great for awhile. Now when i plug it into my tv it distorts the image and makes the resolution all crazy. In my opinion best buy should credit us our money back for it. It simply doesnt work anymore.

Switch OLED issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dont use with switch oled. HDMI output wouldnt go above 480p and eventually the switch got the orange screen of death. It wasnt on the dock when it happened but i dont really believe in any coincidences in this instance.

Does not work as advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buying this i expected it to display in full 1080p, but unfortunately it does not. It only displays in a square resolution on my TV. I do not recommend this at all. Spend a little bit more and get the official one.

Scuffed the bottom of my Switch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a glass screen protector and its a really tight fit. Too tight. Noticed it scuffed the back bottom where it touches the rear hard plastic indentations. Only docked it a few times. Not happy.
