I picked this up because I am getting ready t0 set up a 2 sided display that I want to have daily announcements on for people to see coming and going from an area in my office. In the box is a power brick usb-a, usb A-to usb c 6ft cord, and the splitter. This connected right up and I tested the 2 monitors and my computer and it worked right away. Looking at both monitors side by side I do not see any delay on either signal. Both look like they are in synch. The picture is good. This says hdr pass through, but I'm only running this on 1080p output into 2 non hdr 1080p screens, so I wish I could say i could say I tested that portion, but it’s not in my set up to test it. But if this is like my other insignia products, they do what they are supposed to. The price is competative, and I have purchased many insignia products over the years, and knew I could trust it. This unit was easy to set up, and it worked right away. I must give it 5 stars, no deductions for what I'm using it for. I reccomend this

One HDMI Port ... No PROBLEM!

You have a problem. One laptop, two screens, and an audience. You need to display the same source on both sides of the room, but your laptop/PC only has one HDMI port. You may have two screens in the man cave or diva den and want to see your game/show from any angle. What about movie night or tailgating on multiple screens? Yep, this little splitter can handle it all. This active splitter takes a single HDMI source signal (up to 4K at 60Hz w/ HDR Pass-Through) and gives you dual identical outputs. If you need two screens to display the same content, this is a match and an excellent entry/budget option.
Setup is ridiculously simple and intuitive. You will need 3 HDMI cables for this to work (not included). Plug your source into the input port, connect your two monitors to the outputs, add the power cord, and you're done. Everything fires up almost instantly once the splitter gets power and an input signal with no configuration needed. Just make sure you're using HDMI 2.0 cables to carry your HDR and 4K signals properly. Audio and video signals both come through sharp with no noticeable degradation or lag to my eye. Your favorite streaming device or gaming rigs play nice due to HDCP 2.3 compliance and HDR-compatible HDMI 2.0.
Things I like:
USB-C instead of Micro USB
HDCP 2.3 compliant HDMI 2.0
12-bit deep full HD 4k/2k input support
Auto downscaling 4k to 1080p
Things to know:
Includes rubber tape for desk mounting
Holes on the back for wall mounting
Light and portable, so it easily moves around with little resistance
No downscaling to 2K, 720, or 480p
No frame rate conversion (e.g., 60 to 30).
No HDMI cables included
Use Cases:
-Gaming - split your signal for streaming or a living room audience.
-Presentations - one laptop/PC, two screens in a conference room.
-Security - split your NVR signal to two screens in separate rooms.
-Home theater - Have movie night on two screens for larger crowds.
Whether you are a business person, teacher, gamer, or casual user, you will appreciate the simplicity and functionality and no-nonsense functionality. It splits a signal without compromising quality. Just remember to grab some HDMI cables. The box only comes with the 1-amp power block, 6ft USB-C cable, and the splitter itself. If any of these scenarios fit you, this is a buy and highly recommended.

Sometimes life is about the little things. I have a Denon AV home theater receiver along with a TV and Projector. I have a 4k A/B HDMI switch. I never really cared that I had to hit the A/B button manually to switch between the two display options, I had to raise or lower the projector screen anyways if I was going to switch. However often it wouldn’t work correctly. I had to turn off the receiver, make sure the new display was on (in the case of the projector on and warmed up) and then hit the switch. If I went out of order I would have to turn everything off and then back on with the display then receiver. I had that switch for years and just dealt with the occasional minor frustration.
Enter my new Insignia HDMI splitter, a wonderful upgrade. First off, it’s all automatic. There is no button to hit. If it were just that I would have been happy, but there is more! If I turn on the TV or projector, the receiver now knows to turn on automatically. I can even play both at the same time, not that I would want to as my projector screen drops down over the TV. But there are certainly other set-ups where this feature would be great. The quality of the video and audio are as fantastic as ever as well. Just to test things after I got it working I removed the switch and ran each display direct since I hadn’t done that in a long time just to make sure there was no noticeably drop in anything and there was not. I have been using this switch for probably a couple weeks now and I still smile each evening when I turn on my TV or projector and everything just works as it should. I give this splitter a solid 5* review and if I knew someone looking for an item like this I would absolutely recommend it to a friend.

Just what I needed

Right off the bat, I want to establish the difference between a HDMI splitter, HDMI switch, and even a multi-monitor adapter as they can be shaped similarly but serve different purposes. A HDMI switch allows you to switch HDMI inputs without plugging and unplugging. It essentially allows you to switch between multiple HDMI sources while having one display. This might be best if you have multiple consoles for one TV and you don't want to keep unplugging and plugging them. A multi-monitor adapter will allow one HDMI input to extend to multiple displays but it will not be mirrored. You might have seen computers with multiple monitors. A HDMI splitter takes one HDMI input and duplicates the signal to multiple displays. This will be mirrored content and the same content will show on two displays.
The Insignia HDMI 2-output splitter is just that. This was just what I needed to finish up my setup. I have a TV in the living room and then another one in the backyard. This is a first world problem, but I always wanted to have a setup where you could watch movies together in both areas. With this, I can mirror the content and problem solved. The Insignia HDMI 2-output splitter is a powered one so as far as I can tell, there is no signal degradation.
All in all, if you have a specific setup in mind where you need mirrored content in two spaces, then the Insignia HDMI 2-output splitter is a good one.

If you are looking for an HDMI output splitter, the Insignia - HDMI 2-Output Splitter is a great affordable option. I have been wanting to add a third screen to my home office setup and the Insignia - HDMI 2-Output Splitter allowed me to do so.
The instructions of how to set the Insignia - HDMI 2-Output Splitter up are clearly labeled in the back of the box, so no need to hire a professional to get this setup. You will need your own HDMI cables, so don't expect those to come with the splitter. You only get the splitter box and power cord.
For people wanting to setup a home theatre system, the Insignia - HDMI 2-Output Splitter is a great option. You are able to setup a projector and your choise of streaming hardware/pc/gaming system without any issues.
The Insignia - HDMI 2-Output Splitter is a tiny box that can be discreetely stored away and out of site. If you are good with cable management, you won't even know that the splitter is there.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Insignia - HDMI 2-Output Splitter. It is affordable and performs very well.

Excellent 4K Signal Splitter

This Insignia HDMI splitter is an excellent choice for its intended use. Which is to split an HDMI signal and send it to two different monitors. It should not be confused with a PC hub. A PC hub will split or extend a video signal between two or more monitors. This splitter will only split a signal, it will not extend a signal for PC dual screen usage.
This splitter is rated as 4K compatible. I was able to confirm this is the case by testing it with two 4K monitors. The splitter worked perfectly at delivering the 4K signal. The monitor information display confirmed that a 4K signal was being delivered.
This splitter did an excellent job of transmitting a high quality 4K signal. The picture quality on my 4K monitors was excellent. Colors are vibrant and accurate. Blacks are deep without being cloudy.
This splitter is an excellent choice for transmitting a double signal to two different monitors. For this intended application it performs flawlessly. But this splitter is not to be confused with a PC hub or docking station that extends a second screen to a second monitor.

It works when it works

This unit works well when it works. This unit runs very hot I put it in the stream of a cooling fan to help cool it. Regrettably on about two full weeks after I had initially set it up on my Sony tv it decided to quit working I had it for just about 16 days total. I would rate it 5 stars when it was working, reliable and I didn't have to worry about it or the quality of signals from it. I am giving it three stars due to durability it needs more in the way of a heat sink internally and some method of getting that heat outside to dissipate. it is a small package that the manufacture designed for portability and looks. The aluminum case does fuction somewhat as a heat sink but needs sp ething for cooling. This seems to be a splitter problem in general as this is not the first one I've tried and have gone through this several times now. I have a Sony OLED with limited HDMI ports so I've been trying different brands for close to a year now. Like I said when this works it works but a little over two weeks of use and now nothing is unacceptable. The two weeks it worked is what's getting the extra star from me.
