It does what its suppose to, BUT everytime I turn off my device(Xbox) and then come back later I get no audio. I have to unplug power from it and plug it back in for it to work again. IDK why it does that it kind of annoying to have to do that everytime.

Works as expected. I had ordered one from another vendor that did not work.

Used to attach Bluetooth speakers so could hear my tv while running on my treadmill. Will help of Best Buy associate got all set up.

Using this connected to a Samsung NU6900. Initially worked fine. After a week I would have to unplugged the power to the converter and replug the power for it to work. That would last for a few days. Now its gotten to the point where I have to unplug it and replug it EVERY TIME I turn on the TV. Beyond return time frame. Other reviewers seem to be having better luck with their Samsung connections. Maybe a bad unit, but I have to find something else. Not willing to try same item again.

When I was hooking up the converter I plugged the toslink cable in to the converter and the flap broke in half, now the toslink cable won't stay in the converter, I tried to fix it with tape but that didn't work, if you're plugging the toslink cable in to the converter you need to be very careful, the flap is breaks easily.

I bought this product to connect a brand new television that only has digital optical out to my older stereo receiver that only has component/RCA in. The connections are very self explanatory and yet I cannot seem to achieve any type of clear sound at all...even when my television is off and its sound settings are set to TV speakers out...I'm still getting fuzz. This tells me that there is not any sound being transmitted from the television to the stereo and yet there is some sort of connection because there is fuzz coming out still and not complete radio silence. Insignia if you're out there.....let me know what you think and what I should do.

This device works fine. The only problem is that the power to the device must be unplugged and plugged back in each time I turn on the TV and receiver. Wondering if there is a fix for this issue?

Purchased this item. Hooked it up to my new 65 Samsung TV and to my receiver. Changed all the settings on the TV (have to change the sound output to Audio Out/Optical and the Digital Output Audio to PCM under expert Settings) and tested it with my DVD player and Smart TV. Worked fine. Even watched a movie on DVD that evening. Next evening tried to use it. Changed the settings on the TV and absolute silence. Disconnected it completely and reconnected it and it worked again. The next evening went to watch Game of Thrones, turned everything on, made settings changes on TV and complete silence again. Disconnected it, packaged it up and returned it to the store.

I bought a RocketFish DOAC with the Insigna Optical/Coax Digital-to-Analog Converter 11.25.2015 in store at Best Buy. When I got home and started the connection process I learned that the cable DOES NOT FIT SNUGGLY in the Optical In port. Returned to store and went with another brand converter.You can hear the proper 'snap' of the cable into the TV. The cable will not fall out of the tv, but it will easily 'slip' out of this converter which has no 'snap' when you plug it in.

I purchased this to connect a Blu Ray player to an existing audio setup where I work. As soon as the motor began to spin the disc, I had a clicking noise only and no audio from the disc. When I selected a streaming video the audio played fine. I tested this with another setup in a different room and got the same result. That setup had a digital coaxial audio input so I took the converter out of the loop and the sound was perfect. Bottom line, this unit seems to pick up interference from the motor in the Blu Ray player.

I nought this product at Best Buy. When I got home, I connected it to The optical port of my LG 43” TV (also from Best Buy) and to the RCA inputs of my home stereo. The RCA cables work, and I set up the TV for optical, and then nothing - nada. No sound. It was a complete and utter waste of money.

Tried two different fiber optic cables. Set TV audio to optical out and got only obnoxious buzzing/clicking/scratching noises. I've seen several 'open box' units previously at the store, so I didn't waste time trying another unit. It is possible the TV isn't outputting a good signal but I have no way of troubleshooting, and it seems more likely this $30 unit is just low- (zero-) quality. Returned for refund.

Worked well while it lasted. This wont last more than a year, i have replaced 2 and the third one is dead too. Looking for an alternative.

Open/used product sent. Best Buy wouldn't replace, saying return window closed. never buy Best Buy again.

I also noticed a loose fitting on the converter side of the optical cable. Returned to the store and open 3 other units, all the same. Think it's a quality control issue.

I'm really surprised that Best Buy allows this product to be sold. It's really a junk.
