After using standard PLA for years, I decided to try this Insignia PLA+ White filament, and the upgrade was immediately noticeable. The filament prints just as easily as regular PLA but produces parts that feel stronger and more durable. Insignia describes this PLA+ as a toughened filament with improved impact resistance and stronger layer adhesion, and that definitely shows in the finished prints. I used it for several functional prints, including brackets and workshop organizers, and the results were excellent. The white color is clean and uniform, surfaces came out smooth, and the dimensional accuracy was spot on. The filament handled long print jobs without any issues and produced strong parts that inspired more confidence than typical PLA. One of the biggest advantages of PLA+ over standard PLA is the added toughness. While regular PLA is great for display models, PLA+ offers better impact resistance, stronger layer bonding, and improved durability while still maintaining the low-warp, low-odor, easy-printing characteristics that make PLA so popular. This filament is also designed for reliable high-speed printing and compatibility with a wide range of 1.75mm FDM printers. Pros: - Stronger and more durable than standard PLA - Excellent layer adhesion - Bright, consistent white color - Smooth surface finish - Low odor and easy to print - Great for functional parts and prototypes Cons: - Slightly more expensive than basic PLA - White filament can show dirt and print residue more easily - May require a little tuning to get the absolute best finish on high-speed prints Overall, this is an outstanding PLA+ filament that combines the simplicity of PLA with the added strength needed for real-world projects. I'll definitely be reaching for this instead of standard PLA whenever durability matters.

Bottom Line: Insignia’s PLA 1.75mm Filament is reliable and delivers hassle free 3D printing. Pros: prints reliably out the of the box; box and spool show print parameters for different filament types Cons: none Review: For those new to 3D printing, PLA is generally the widely-used "all-purpose" filament for 3D printing, striking the perfect balance of cost, reliability/ease of use, and durability. In this regard, Insignia has delivered on all three categories. Out of the box, Insignia’s PLA filament printed with no major issues on my Elegoo Neptune 4 Max using default PLA settings and default "fast" (0.2mm layer height) printing. My first print was a stand to display small toy cars, which involves printing multiple pieces and assembling them together. The pieces turned out perfectly and the stand fit together without any issues. I then printed a fidget toy for my daughter, which included two pieces that fit together well. As a more minor point, I do like that Insignia provides a table on the back of the box listing the different print settings used for different filament types. I also like that the spool is well labeled with the type of filament and printer settings, which is more convenient than trying to look things up if you're switching spools while at the printer.

    Excellent PLA+ filament

This review is for the white and black Insignia PLA+ filament. I've been a big fan of PLA+ filament since the first started coming out. They tend to be far more reliable and refined than regular PLA and this Insignia brand did not disappoint. In fact, I may have to switch to this over my usual brand - if for no other reason than its cost and availability. This filament comes vacuum sealed on a basic (but pretty sturdy) cardboard spool, wound properly so there's no worry of snags. Suggested temps are labelled clearly (which I appreciate). I tried printing the standard "benchy" and a calibration cube. The only settings on my printer were for "Generic PLA" and I made sure the temperature range was correct. Otherwise I performed no other configuration or calibration. The results were REALLY good - so much so that I could immediately tell the difference over the standard Insignia PLA. The lines were narrower, creating better details in the prints. I'm actually pleasantly surprised how good this filament it. Plus it's a little less expensive than similar PLA+ I usually stock my workshop with. All in all, this is really good filament and it has surpassed my expectations. A special note about the white PLA+: I noticed its quality of white isn't as "purely" white as its PLA counterpart. This is a minor thing and didn't seem to affect the overall better quality of the PLA+ filament over the PLA.

    Quality Filament from BestBuy

Insignia is BestBuy's house brand and they've jumped on the 3D Printing train with their own white label filament that you can get delivered or even pick up in-store at your nearest BestBuy. I received 5 spools in white/black PLA, PLA+ and PETG and they arrived in excellent condition, vacuum-sealed individually, super high-quality re-usable box and dry ready to print. I popped two spools into my BambuLabs P2S and they were ready to print. The only major negatives compared to Bambu filament is that these Insignia spools are made of cardboard instead of plastic and they do not include the RFID tag which allows the AMS2 Pro to autodetect your filament type and color. I'll likely use my Bambu RFIDs and transfer them over, or move the Insignia filament to an empty Bambu spool to get this functionality but they work fine otherwise, you can just label and set them in Bambu Studio and everything works fine. In terms of print quality, the prints came out great and had no issues with adhesion or bleeding or stacking with other Bambu lab filament. And at nearly half the price at full price and even a few bucks cheaper on sale than Bambu filament, these are a great alternative especially if you need to pick some filament up locally to finish a print and can't wait. I did a little research and a lot of people seem to think this is OEM/white lable Polymaker filament but no matter what, it works great!

I always wondered why more places did not previously get into 3D printing supplies. I am so excited that I can now purchase filament locally at Best Buy. We have two 3D printers. The one we use most often is a Bambu Labs A1 Combo. That is what I used to print the panda racoon jewlery box in the pictures below. This filament came vaccume sealed with a desicant bag in the center. The filament seemed to be good and dry right out of the package. These are on cardboard spools. I felt the spool was nice and sturdy and loved that it had a window to see how much filament was left on the roll as well as multiple holes in order to tie off the end when not in use. I decided to try both the black and white Insignia PLA+ in one project. In addition to these 2 filiments, we also used a grey filament of a different brand. The jewlery box printed perfectly; my daughter loves it! With my printers preset generic PLA+ settings, both fillaments printed flawlessly. I did not experiance any stringing or any other flaws while printing. The white came out clean and crisp. The black was dark and rich The drawers feel sturdy as PLA+ should. This fillament exibits all the qualities of a quality PLA.

Bottom Line: Insignia’s PLA+ 1.75mm Filament works well and delivers more durable, smoother prints than regular PLA. Pros: prints well out the of the box; box and spool show print parameters for different filaments Cons: none Review: For those who might be newer to 3D printing, PLA and PLA+ are different filament options. PLA is generally considered "all-purpose" filament for balancing cost and ease of use, making it ideal for most typical print projects. PLA+ is, as the name implies, is the same chemical plastic as PLA but with additives to enhance heat resistance and durability. One of the additional benefits of PLA+ is that prints tend to be smoother than regular PLA. Out of the box, Insignia’s PLA+ filament printed without hassle on my Elegoo Neptune 4 Max. My first print was a gaming controller holder. I used the slicing software’s default PLA settings for nozzle and print bed temperatures with 0.2mm layer height. I didn't adjust any other settings other than adding an adhesion layer. The print itself turned out perfectly. The only minor issue was that I added the adhesion layer, and, with PLA is a bit easier to remove. With PLA+, the adhesion border printed pretty smoothly and adhered, perhaps, too well to the final print.

I’ll admit, when I first saw this Insignia Black PLA, I expected it to be just okay. When you buy budget filament, you usually brace yourself for a fight with clogs, weird diameter swings, or brittle plastic. Instead, this stuff turned out to be the quiet, unassuming hero of my workshop—the kind of reliable performer that just shows up and gets the job done without complaining. I ran this spool through my Bambu Lab P2S using the absolute default "Generic PLA" profile in Bambu Studio. I didn't spend a single second tuning settings or calibrating flow rates. I just threw it on the spool holder, hit print on a standard Benchy, and watched it go. The results were flawless. The Benchy came out incredibly clean with no stringing, perfect layer lines, and excellent bed adhesion on my textured plate. It handled the high speeds of the P2S without a single hiccup. This filament easily rivals Bambu’s own Basic PLA in print quality, but at a fraction of the cost. It gives you that exact same set-it-and-forget-it convenience, delivering a deep, clean black finish that looks great on functional parts. If you are tired of overpaying for daily prototyping filament, this is a total budget bargain that punches way above its weight class.

Testing the Insignia White PLA+ offered a direct comparison to see if the five-dollar price difference compared to their baseline white translates to better overhangs and cleaner details. It sits at a slightly higher price point, but it proved to be a highly reliable and low-maintenance material on the Bambu Lab P2S that handles complex models with ease. Using standard Bambu Studio settings with zero manual calibration, the resulting print quality was slightly sharper and less chalky than the standard white, though the overall visual upgrade is fairly subtle. The most impressive aspect of the print was how cleanly the material behaves when running without supports; the bridging over open gaps is incredibly tidy and tight, avoiding the drooping, messy stringing, and clumping that often plague heavily pigmented white filaments. Furthermore, the finished parts possess a much higher level of durability, offering a bit of bend and structural flexibility rather than snapping instantly under pressure. For projects that require a bright white finish, beautiful bridging over difficult gaps, and a bit of extra toughness to survive daily handling, this upgraded formula delivers a clear functional advantage.

I usually dread buying cheap white filament because the heavy pigment they use to make it opaque often makes it print rough, clumpy, or brittle. However, Insignia White PLA completely shattered those expectations. It is the ultimate low-maintenance workhorse that sits quietly in your dry box until you need a painless, high-quality print. I loaded the spool onto my Bambu Lab P2S and ran my test Benchies and calibration blocks using the standard "Generic PLA" profile in Bambu Studio. I skipped the manual calibrations entirely to see if it would fail at high speeds, but the printer chewed right through it. The surface finish is surprisingly smooth, with crisp overhangs and fantastic layer cohesion on the PEI bed. It easily gives Bambu's proprietary Basic PLA a run for its money. You get that same seamless, plug-and-play experience without the premium price tag, resulting in a bright, clean white that doesn't look cheap or translucent. If you need a reliable, budget-friendly white PLA for everyday printing, this spool is an absolute no-brainer.

Bottom Line: Insignia's PLA 1.75mm Filament offers reliable, hassle free printing. Pros: works as it should; well-labeled; cardboard spool Cons: none Review: Out of the box, Insignia's white PLA filament delivered a flawless print on my Elegoo Neptune 4 Max. My first print was a shelf stand (my bookcase is also white), which uses a honeycomb design for the top, four legs, and a brace on each leg. Using default PLA settings for nozzle and print bed temperatures and default speed settings (e.g., 0.2mm layer height, 15% infill, etc.), the print took about 6 hours to complete. One of the other things I really like about Insignia's filament is that both the box and spool are well-labeled. The back of the box provides a comparison table of different types of filaments and the settings that should be used for each type. The spool itself is also well-labeled, which also indicates what filament it is and the print settings. Additionally, the spool is made of cardboard, which is more environmentally friendly to dispose of than plastic ones.

I have been running the green Insignia PLA+ 1.75mm filament through my setup over the last week, and it has consistently exceeded my expectations. Finding a reliable, everyday filament that requires minimal tweaking can be a challenge, but this spool delivers straight out of the box. What Stands Out Exceptional Print Quality: The extrusion is remarkably smooth and consistent. I experienced zero issues with clogging or under-extrusion, even during longer, multi-hour print jobs. The dimensional accuracy seems spot on, resulting in clean layers and sharp details. Vibrant, True-to-Life Color: The green is bright, solid, and completely opaque. It maintains its vibrant finish post-print without looking dull or washed out, making it perfect for functional parts that need high visibility or decorative models. Reliable Bed Adhesion: The PLA+ adheres perfectly to the build plate with a standard heated bed. I had no warping or lifting on the corners, and the finished pieces popped off effortlessly once the plate cooled down. Tangle-Free Spooling: The filament is neatly wound. I did not encounter a single bind or tangle, which provides great peace of mind when leaving the printer unattended. The Verdict This Insignia PLA+ offers outstanding performance at a highly competitive price point. It strikes the perfect balance between strength and ease of use. Whether you are prototyping functional parts or running off quick models, this filament provides reliable, high-quality results. Highly recommended for anyone looking to stock up on a dependable, bright green PLA+.

I've been 3D printing for a few years now, and I'm always game to try a new filament. I was enthused to hear that Best Buy was going to start carrying filaments in their stores, and I was eager to see how they compared to my usual filaments. I tested this filament on my Flashforge Adventurer 5M machine. It's a direct drive, FDM printer. The filament comes on a cardboard spool. It seems to be wound well, and I didn't experience any issues with feeding. My default PLA settings didn't quite work for this filament. My pieces printed okay, but there was definitely some evidence of under-extrusion. Bumping up the temperature by 5 degrees seemed to improve this some. That could just be because it was a white filament though. White filaments are notorious for needing to be printed a little hotter than their multi-color counterparts. Overhangs seemed to work well, and bed adhesion was just fine. The filament is very much a stark white. It definitely leans toward a cool white versus a warm white. Overall, I'm pleased with how this filament worked up. Being able to pick this up at my local Best Buy is going to be very convenient.

I'm reviewing both the white and black Insignia PLA filaments. The filament, itself, comes basic packaging - well sealed and moisture controlled. The filament is spooled properly, so there's been no worries about snags. The cardboard spool is also pretty sturdy, although I hope there will also be a refill option. The filament is consistent; and honestly, I was pretty surprised and impressed by how well it printed. I saw relatively consistent lines, minimal stringing and practically no zits - and this is out of the box without any tweaking on my 3D printer. The material is consistently solid after cooling. For basic print jobs, particularly functional prints, this filament is quite effective and very much affordable. Compared to some of the more popular brands, this filament will do the job and should also be easier to obtain from your local Best Buy store. Considering the low cost and reliability, I would definitely use this filament for larger jobs that might require a few spools-worth of material.

I love the fact Best Buy has started carrying this filament in stores. I use a lot of black filament for home decor pieces, and I'm constantly running out. Waiting for online deliveries is inconvenient, and I've often lamented the fact I couldn't just run to the store to pick up more filament. This filament solves that problem nicely. This filament printed very easily. My Kobra X's default PLA+ settings seemed to work just fine with it. I probably could have dialed it in just a smidge better, but the default settings were perfectly serviceable. I like the fact this filament comes on cardboard spools. Plastic spools are wasteful, and I always feel bad throwing them out or trying to find ways to repurpose them. Being able to recycle the empty spool once it's done is a bit of a relief. I didn't have any noticeable issues with stringing or bed adhesion, and it printed without clogging once. The finished piece looks clean and layer lines weren't too bad at a .15 layer height. I'm quite pleased with how the finished piece turned out. I can definitely see myself using this filament again.

Testing the Insignia Black PLA+ was a great opportunity to see if the "plus" formulation actually justifies the five-dollar price premium over their standard line. While this extra margin pushes it slightly out of the ultra-budget tier, it proved to be a highly capable performer on the Bambu Lab P2S and managed to handle daily printing tasks with ease. Running the default Generic PLA profile in Bambu Studio with absolutely zero manual tuning yielded a finished surface quality that was slightly cleaner and more consistent than standard PLA, though the visual improvement is admittedly a subtle one. The real standout feature of this material is its impressive bridging performance; it handles steep overhangs and wide gaps without any supports remarkably well, leaving clean, tight spans with virtually no sagging or drooping on the underside of the print. Additionally, the finished parts exhibit a nice touch of physical flexibility instead of being completely stiff, giving functional models a much sturdier feel in the hand and a higher resistance to shattering under pressure. For anyone needing a tough black filament that masters difficult geometry and behaves significantly better under mechanical stress, the slight upgrade over the standard version is highly noticeable in the final product.
