The advantages are the colored buttons and a pretty easily found mute button. I would benefit from reading more about it in the manual, but I haven't bothered as the main functions are obvious. It works well with my Roku remote.

A cheap and effective replacement

I really didn't want to wait for a replacement from Samsung so off I went to my local Best Buy to see if there was a cheaper alternative. This remote worked fine right out of the package. I've been using it for several weeks and have no complaints. I recommend it.

I have two Samsung TVs, one is over probably 14 years old and this remote worked without any code necessary. It feels sturdy and the back of the remote has a nonslip feel to it.
