    Remote worked immediately, as soon as batteries were installed. I did not have to do any code searches. My Samsung HDTV was purchased in 2015 and apparently is now considered "obsolete". Samsung no longer sells this remote in their replacement parts store. I was dubious about whether this one would work, but I had no problems.
