I did not have to do any code searches. My Samsung HDTV was purchased in 2015 and apparently is now considered "obsolete". Samsung no longer sells this remote in their replacement parts store. I was dubious about whether this one would work, but I had no problems.

Samsung provides a very nice remote HOWEVER it does not have a key pad for entering numerics, etc. When you need to do a software reset, it is numeric pin. There's no soft keyboard or numeric drop down/popup. NO BUENO. Very obscure problem. Samsung support does not get it. Dont try calling them. I Google searched it and found the problem. Best Buy/Geek Squad were somewhat better. Eventually they sent me this remote. IT WORKS.
