Good bumper case with a minor quirk
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Insignia Rugged Bumper Case for Apple Watch Ultra 49mm is a decent bumper case.The Apple Watch Ultra has a titanium body that can withstand abuse more than other smartwatches. Putting a bumper case on such a watch may seem to be overkill. However, it may good for those that are working in tough environments outside and don’t want to take chances on their watch getting scratched up. The bumper case is easy to install. I made the mistake of installing it on the wrong side. It has a lip on the bumper case, which I assumed the lip would protect the bezel of the watch. Instead, the lip of the case is for the underneath side of the watch. Once I figured that out, I’ve been installing it correctly. The bumper case is somewhat stiff, but it’s still fairly easy to put it on or take if off. There is one minor gripe. The bumper case has a lip that helps protect the watch crown from bumps. It leaves only a small opening for you to turn the watch crown. The opening if fairly small and I’m not able to get my finger through the opening all that well. It makes if difficult for me to scroll up and down with the watch crown. Especially when trying to flip through the watch widgets. The bumper case does not protect the front glass area of the watch. You will probably have to purchase a screen protector to protect the glass. I never installed a screen protector on my Apple Watch Ultra because the glass is said to be made of sapphire crystal and is very durable. Overall, it’s a good bumper case, but the inability for me to use the watch crown fluently with it on has me not putting it on my watch as much as I intended to.

We always protect our tech and although screen protectors are the standard, we like to make sure we protect the whole piece and this helps! Just like you’d buy a phone case or a iPad case, you need to protect all of your watch and not just the screen.
