I used it to pull pictures off of my dslr camera card the first day and everything worked fine. I went to pull pics off another card three days later and I kept getting read errors. I actually thought it might have been the second card, so I ttied it in my second laptop (it has a built-in reader) and the card worked perfectly. On a side note, I didn't like the feel of the reader ports. My laptop reader has a spring-loaded port that feels like a very solid lock when the card goes in and out. This reader just uses a friction fit, so there's no real feedback to tell you if you've inserted the card properly.

When I am uploading photos, which I do often, the USB end wiggles out and requires me to restart the upload.

Right out of the box, this device did not perform well. It was recognized and I was able to see content on multiple cards I tried, but in attempting to transfer the images my computer froze and task manager did not respond. My screen went black and my computer remained unresponsive until I pulled the power cable out. I tried four different times with four different cards and got the same result. I tried connecting my 12-year-old reader with the same cards and it worked fine. I will be returning this.

Wouldn't work with Windows 10

For whatever reason this one would not work on my new desktop or older laptop that run Windows 10. Worked perfectly on my wife's Windows 8 laptop.

Only when I plug it into my computer it says that I need more power. Where am I suppose to get it. I don't have much faith in these anyway.

My iMac didn’t even recognize my SD card inside of it. It did find the CF card but not my SD card. My iMac read the card just fine. Overall I plan to return

But bigger prob was that my computer kept ejecting it. I ended up returning this after buying another brand which works perfectly well.

Hence it was not what I needed. In addition, this item is extremely flimsy. Now I can not return it due to this crazy virus.

Not working for Sandisk SDXC card.

Does not work...spoke with Nikon...after struggling to get it to work. Will be bringing it back to Best Buy...

Malfunctioned multiple times

However, once I tried to access the files on the drive, I received an I/O error and could not access the files. I tried again, removing and reinserting the card and had the same issue. I tried the memory card in a completely different reader and it works fine. So, I took the memory card reader and connected it to a different computer. Same results. Not recommending this unit.

Great if only a SD card reader is needed.

Bad experience picking up purchase

I wanted the Canon brand but only had the cheep nock off. I went in to pick up. They said I needed a drivers license to pick it up I told them I left it at work. I said I had the credit card that I paid with. He said no. I had to go back to work to get my license and drive back to the to get what I had already paid for. Only at the bottom of the email in small print does it say bring an ID. I will never buy from Best Buy again. It was a horrible experience. Everyone was very RUDE

Worked for a while...

Now I struggle to get this thing to connect. I've tried different laptops and desktops.. Windows or Mac.. The reader lights up, but it doesn't mount. Compact Flash, Micro SD, SD - it doesn't matter. It's a waste of money now.

Poor quality card reader

When I connected the USB cable nothing happened. After tinkering with it awhile I found that if you plugged the cables in securely nothing happened but if you pulled the cable out from the card reader about halfway it would work. But it couldn’t stay that way without the cable falling out. Returned it same day.

metal piece isn't strong
