    I have used this 5 times........maybe? I just went to use it this AM, where the cord attaches to the box was loose, on further inspection, the metal USB 3 connector had completely detached from the circuit board inside. What a waste of money! Now I have photos to load in from 2 events yesterday, and I have to run out and purchase something else to read my card. It WILL NOT be this brand again!!!

    Copy hard drive info to new larger hard drive

    I recent had paid for Total Tech support and took my laptop in to have the old hard drive replaced with a larger drive and have to old files transferred to the new drive. The drive was replaced bu the old files were not copied over. I tried calling the Tech squad to have the problem resolved, but no one answered or returned my call. Hopefully the old files are still on my old drive which I currently have. Please have someone contact me at 303-50-2072. Scott Eicher

    Lots of Issues for such a simple tool

    The usb connection is very sensitive, almost like there’s a short in the cable. Touch it too hard, it loses the connection. I have an SD reader built in my Mac and purely have this as a back up and it doesn’t even serve that function. Everything from Insignia is so hit or miss. If reliability is what your after, don’t buy insignia.

    Would have to plug and replug the device in to get it to work (from first use onward), might be able to get it working once out of every 10-15 attempts-- computer does not recognize device. Now the device won't work at all and it is too late for me to return it. The build quality is very poor as well. Would not recommend even if this were the last sd card reader on earth.

    Not very well made and inconsistent reading cards. I would recommend paying a little more for a better quality product.

    Very poor quality and it gives problems with some sd cards. I would not recommend this item for profesional use.

    The inside of it broke after about two weeks.

    It worked fine until the inside had broken, which made me unable to have it connect to my computer correctly.

    I'm now on my 4th Insignia SD card reader, each one with the same issue. Copying large amounts of files the reader randomly disconnects, freezes, or just disappears. Corrupted a few cards in the process. The only reason I bought this piece of garbage was that it was the only one my local BestBuy sold. Forget that. I'll go with a better brand from now on, lesson learned. Amazon here I come.

    May be an advance memory card reader but it is not universal card reader. Have number of older memory cards that don't fit this device.

      Hi Radio.

      This device reads card on formats SD, Micro-SD, and CompactFlash cards. Any other different formats you would need a different device to use them. Be mindful that older cards might have their data corrupted due to being unused over the years or being stored for a long time.

    sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Is very finicky with the SD card.

    My SD reader in my computer quit. I bought this as a substitute. I never got it to work.

    the plastic is not very strong or durable. Dropped the card reader and the plastic bent so cards wont fit in safely

    If I could give it 0 stars I would. This is the second one I've owned. They both failed in the same way. "Device I/O error" Not the card. I can access it on other devices with reader. Save your money, piece of junk!!! Overpriced too. Go to Amazon and buy an Anker. Cheeper too, and they work.

    I ended up returning this due to an issue with constant disconnecting. I tried troubleshooting by using a different USB, checking my ports on my computer, and trying on multiple devices. My SD cards are not corrupted. I ended up picking up a card reader from a local camera store that supports up to uhs-ii speeds

    Had it less then a week and it stopped working. Tried every USB port on my computer and my laptop. Does not recognize it. All drivers are up to date. Used another SD card reader, it works fine.
