This one reads my SD and SDXC cards just fine when using it with my Mac or PC. It's a little surprising that in this day and age, you can still spend well over $1,000 on a notebook computer and not even get a card reader built into it - but that's how it goes. My new Surface Laptop doesn't have one, and neither does my late 2013 Mac Pro workstation. So ... one of these just plugs into a USB port and gives you the slots you were missing.

Good cheap reliable card reader
