Boyfriend installed this with no problems. We did have issues having it work with Alexa. Had to call the maker and they thought it needed a hub to work with the echo. Not sure what happened but my boyfriend finally got it to work with echo Alexa.

For the price, this was a good purchase. But, it’s only for a single switch light. Means it’s for light that’s only controlled by 1 switch. If a light is controlled my multiple switches, this won’t work.

This was the first brand of smart switch I ever purchased. The first one I bought didn't work and was discouraging at first but the customer support was unbelievably good that they more than reimbursed me for my time and trouble. Instead of trying a different brand I exchanged the defective switch and tried another of the exact same thing. I'm glad I did. Works perfectly and I was told if I ever upgrade my 2.4ghz router to 5ghz this brand is compatible at both frequencies. Be aware some smart devices are not.

Good price, comes with everything. It’s a decent switch with support for homekit on ios. Cant say much for installation, but it’s intructions are easy to follow

These switches seem to be very good quality as I have tried several brands. They are very convenient, easy to install and set up, come with a face plate and have a great look. They are also compatible with Apple Homekit so you can use Siri to control them also. I don't want to blame the switches 100% because I know many things can affect a network but they do sometimes drop off the network and will reconnect on their own after a while. I wish they would make a model of these that works with 3 way switch setups and in other colors besides just white.

The hardware part war was Betty straight forward, but the binding to it or the wifi was a nightmare,eventually worked and has been great ever sinc.

Setting this up wasn't the easiest thing in the world- it took a couple Google searches to figure out how to get it to connect to WiFi after the app's guide's directions didn't work. Here's what worked for me. I had to put a paperclip in the reset hole under the bevel for an 8 count and then follow the "press the reset button for two clicks" routine. Also, this does not work with smartthings, so if you're considering other zigbee / z-wave outlets or switches know that this won't play nice (out of the box) with smartthings.

I was excited to find such an awesome deal during Black Friday weekend. The switch may not be the most attractive of the HomeKit enabled bunch, but as long as the price remains this low it will sell like hotcakes! It pairs fairly easily, although the firmware it ships with is buggy, soon after it updates itself it works without issues. I would suggest this to anyone building their smart home with Apple HomeKit.

The Insignia HomeKit compatible smart switch is the best value you will find. Installing it is easy because it comes with great directions, but It is kind of difficult to set up the switch to operate on your iPhone. It needed to be reset a few times before it finally worked and is SOMETIMES not responsive the when you try to turn the switch on. It doesn't work like five out of a hundred times but doesn't require the switch to be reset.

Easy to set up hard to get alexa to connect. Would like better instructions.

I have read all the reviews here. The common thread I see is that the people who have trouble were trying to connect this Insignia switch with the Best Buy app. I now have bought 3 of these switches, and they work great. I simply connected to the iOS Home app directly. No need to use the Best Buy app. From all the reviews, that app may be the source of all the negative reviews. The Best Buy app connects to their server, which appears to be down a fair amount and impacts the usability of the switch. So, by pass the Best Buy app and this Insignia product may well be as good as any Homekit compatible switch on the market!

Easy to use and the price beats all the other switches on the market

I decided to go with the Insignia brand because BB was running a 50% off sale. I added the device to my network and setup went smoothly. And that is were the positive review ends. Within 12 hours, I received the first notice that the device had lost connection to the home wi-fi signal. I waited about an hour and noticed through both the iOS Home app and the Insignia Connect app the switch was back online, A couple hours go by and I get another notice from the Connect app that the device lost connection again. I got no response from the switch from both the Connect and the Home app. At this point since several hours went by and the switch was still offline, I figured a full reset was needed. I deleted the device from the Connect and Home apps. I pressed the reset button on the switch to begin pairing from the beginning. Now I cannot get the switch to re-pair to my network, to the Connect app or the Home App. I've attached pics of the error messages I get when I try to re-add the switch back to my network. I've repeated this reset/re-pair sequence three times all to no avail. This device is absolute junk.

Has worked fine so far. No problems. Installation was relatively easy. This was the first time I've changed anything electrical and the instructions were easy to follow. I did have to buy a new plate as the switch that I needed it for included 3 switches in the panel. The green indicator light is a bit bright if you have this installed in the bedroom.

Just like my review of the wall plug, the actual product is great but the setup process was a pain. Be prepared to spend more than 15 minutes trying to set this up. You will constantly get a Registration Call failure. After multiple resets, multiple devices I was able to sync. Once synced the product is great. It does what it is supposed to do.

So far so good. Working fine. I have this smart switch in my bedroom. No more arguing who should get out of bed to switch the lights off. Read and follow the directions out of the box and you too will be happier in no time. Great for controlling a light fixture with multiple bulbs instead of purchasing multi smart bulbs.

This switch works as good as any other and is compatible with HomeKit, google, everyone.. Installed no problems, setup was a snap and it works instantly with zero delay. Today they’re on sale again half off and I’m buying another one.

Have been using the insignia wifi plugs for about a year. They are relatively stable and reliable. I wanted a timer for my outside porch lights so i purchased this wifi switch. Works well, was easy to set up. Happy with product. Switch sounds a little hollow when clicking the light on and off.

Easy to setup but was a bit big for the single metal gang box that was in the wall. Light switch wouldn't turn on until I loosened the switch. So now it sits out from the wall about an eighth of an inch. Took a while to connect to WiFi

First smart home purchase, and I could not be happier. Easy to set up, and works seamlessly with Alexa and phone apps. Great deal - works just as well as brand name switches, but for much less.
